Long back I had a friend from Iran Ali Hashmi. We met at Symbiosis in Pune. He had come to learn about Indian culture. He taught me pharsi and about their culture.
Glad to now that there is the Vishnu Temple in Iran 🙏

Urdu is hindi with persian words. So every urdu you listen is persian.
It's a ancient country called in the name of king poras which became Persia.
Even the word Hindi and Hindu are Persian. Persian was the official language right till Bhadhur Shah Zafar when it was replaced by Urdu (which as mentioned by someone earlier is essentially using Delhi language's grammar with Persian words (many of which are of Arabic roots). Today's Hindi is just that.

These are some famous Paarsis who migrated to India. Some surnames like Wadia, Mehta, Gandhi are also Parsi. Some Mehta and Gandhi who came very early adopted Hinduism. So, like you have Mahatma Gandhi is a Hindu baniya and Feroz Gandhi, Husband of Indira Gandhi was a Parsi.
Then their language, means old Persian known as "Avestan" was a sister language of Vedic Sanskrit. They both had common ancestor language. Later due to geographical area they diverged. Some words like "Namaz" in Persian is very similar to "Namati" in Sanskrit which means to pray. Since, most of the Muslims in India are of Persian origin, so they also say Namaz to whatever prayer they do.
"Namati" or "Namaz" root word is "Nam" in Sanskrit which is also the root word for "Namaste" .
Nam means "Na Aham" in Sanskrit which signifies "the soul which is na aham" or "I bow down to the soul which is not me". Both Namaste and Namaz means same thing.
Another common similar words are "Sthan"/स्थान and "Stan", like both means situated place of a certain people like Afghani"stan", Hindu"stan".

Beautiful presentation and thanks for the positive energy from our Indian cousins! Pre-Zoroastrian pantheon in Iran was almost identical to the Hindu pantheon except the S turned into H. Instead of Saraswati we would say Harahwati.
Zoroastrianism and Hinduism are very similar. Many texts from hindu scriptures are similar to zendavesta. Both are nature worshipping religions. Even the god names are very similar.

Hindi and persian has similar words because hindi(or rather sanskritized urdu) was literally created in the courts of persianized muslim rulers
