    Serena is obviously the favorit to win on Saturday, but Kerber showed that she can compete with her at the AUS Open. It´s definitely going to be an interesting match. I think Serena will win in three sets, even though my wish would be for Kerber to beat her the second time this season.

    You did it again! A Grand Slam Final! One Williams you beat already, I know you can beat the other one as well, you did it already!! Just do it again!

      I love Angie but believe me, the game with Serena will be at another level. I expect Serena to do the job in 2 sets.

      I think what he means is that she already beat Serena in the Australian Open Final earlier this year, so beat her again.

    Kerber played great tennis up until semis. But to see venus in the semi final at Wimbledon was something great to watch. In this match venus did use delicate touches at net and played very well at net. I hope venus stays around next year and improve so she can lift that trophy. As long as venus get more Wimbledon trophy than Serena I will be happy.

      Believe me Angie will be nervous this time because of the weight of expectations. Serena will play relaxed. Serena is fit. She appeared unfit during the last two grandslams. I maybe wrong she seems to have lost some weight and she is moving much faster this time. No one can beat her in this form.

    • @trommelbiel
      @trommelbiel 8 лет назад

      You racist pig is at it again. You keep following Serena everywhere. Serena is not going to feel any pressure. She has done it 21 times. Angie is the one to feel pressure because she needs to prove that her win over Serena was not a hoax. It won`t be easy. Serena has been in the last 3 finals this year. Angie was eliminated in the first round at Roland Garros. Win or lose the only reason people know Angie is because she played against Serena. I don`t think she will be recognized in her home country of Germany talkless of elsewhere.

      Not likely. TOO MUCH incentive for Serena. Is 3-3 for major finals and lost the first two. One of them to Kerber... Williams wants #22 out of the way AND she wants to avenge that loss to Kerber.

    Venus played way better than people are making out here. Kerber was the best player of 2016, stopped only by Serena in the W final

  • @rehabboy01
    @rehabboy01 8 лет назад +3

    players like Kerber are more of a defense player rather than offense, so, to beat her, you need to be 1. consistent, put her on the 2. defense by attacking that bHand and play the Fhand. If you need to bang her from side to side, tire her out, the better ! 3. Attack the serve, both 1st and 2nd. 4. do drop shots.

    • @romanHederer
      @romanHederer 8 лет назад +7

      Kerber hits the ball very hard for a counterpuncher. Her backhand is a strong shot. Tiring her out is easier said than done

  • @ObsessedPersonality

    Venus doesn't have the consistent winner making ground strokes like she used to, nor does she have the stamina. If she were to duke it out at the baseline against a defensive player like Kerber, she would have lost all stamina early on and would have suffered a worse loss from her own unforced errors.
    Venus played it smart by coming into the net as often as she did. She's on grass, she's got the huge serve for it and the adequate volleying skills. By coming in to the net and ending the point quickly (win or lose) she conserved her stamina for the points she was forced to duke out on the baseline. Good effort by Venus and tight match, but Kerber just had the tiniest edge against her today.

    • @orkhanb.7447
      @orkhanb.7447 8 лет назад

      You are right, man. Venus played good today but Kerber was better. On the other hand Williams' final wouldn't be as entertaining as Serena-Angie final! looking forward to this final

    • @ccaammiinniiito2
      @ccaammiinniiito2 8 лет назад

      @YoursTruly...Agreed. But I thought years ago that Vee should avoid the long rallies like Bubonic plague. Her unforced error count is consistently high. Not bad if you can counter with winners. But she doesn't. Then, too, Vee is not a defensive player, explaining why so many of her wins were really taken to the third set.

    After losing the AO and FO Serena is not going to miss this opportunity this time. She will not allow Kerber to beat her again. She wants her 22 slams! and I hope she gets it. In the mean time on the men's side I'm hoping Federer takes it all!

    • @ccaammiinniiito2
      @ccaammiinniiito2 8 лет назад

      @Man...So do I. But her play in the semis was lackluster from the start. So I just wanted for the news I suspected I would get: that she had lost to Kerber. I didn't anticipate the straight sets, however. I thought she'd have put up a much better fight. Too unforced errors from the long rallies Venus should have learned to avoid by now. They just don't work for her and never have.

    This is the outcome I wanted. I didn`t want an all Williams final. I have read that Venus looked sluggish on the court. My question as a non-tennis player is why Serena and Venus have chosen to play doubles when Nr. 22 is on the line? Is it because they needed the little price money so badly? Or could anybody explain to me, why? Angie is going to have rest while Serena is going to tire herself again for reasons only her and venus know. Angie is not the kind of player you can play when you are tired or out of shape because she chases down every ball. I really hope there won`t be another upset because I will almost certainly have a heart attack if an upset would occur again.

      Because they are practicing as they are trying to get a medal in Rio.

    • @trommelbiel
      @trommelbiel 8 лет назад

      +James Hampton Not a good enough reason for me. Venus is 36. No idea why they think they need to play doubles. It is either they are desperately greedy but I do no that playing doubles does help in a way but they could still train in a more relaxed atmosphere not in a grand slam. I hope Serena will not disappoint again.

    • @hageralaa7831
      @hageralaa7831 8 лет назад

      it's not about the money, they already earned a lot of prize money, Serena 74M and Venus 33M i think, not about money of course. they are the Olympics doubles defenders, and they didn't play doubles for years, so they need to play matches, they can't go and defend in Rio without playing any matches.

    • @trommelbiel
      @trommelbiel 8 лет назад

      I am still not sold but I hope it helps Serena. I guess it did not help Venus, though. Venus did not look fit.

    • @hageralaa7831
      @hageralaa7831 8 лет назад

      it is the only reason, they started to play doubles in Rome, they were out in 1st round, then they went to RG i think they were out in 3rd round, now Wimbledon in semis, they do it cuz they need some matches under their belt and to get used to doubles to defend in Rio, as u can see they improved from Rome to now.

    Kerber is going to play the game of her life tomorrow I'm a huge Serena fan but Serena gets in her head too much Kerber could take the dish.

  • @ccaammiinniiito2
    @ccaammiinniiito2 8 лет назад +1

    Could this loss in straight sets to Kerber be psychosomatic? From the start, Vee behaved as if she really didn't want to be in this semi, with the probability of meeting sis in the final. Straight sets? Vee's tendency to go for long rallies are her Achilles' heel. She is too prone to unforced errors to go that route. So when she started out baselining it from the start. It's just as well. I, too, wasn't really into an all Williams final, either. And I am a dedicated fan of both.

    • @aminadere5348
      @aminadere5348 8 лет назад

      I wouldn't really say she threw the match. I think her body and legs were done. Recovery is tougher for a 36 year old. So many matches in the last 2 weeks back to back with doubles as well compared to a fresher Angelique who has spent less time on the court in all her previous matches combined and is also not playing doubles. Something had to give. Credit to both ladies though.

    • @ccaammiinniiito2
      @ccaammiinniiito2 8 лет назад

      Yeah, I'll have to agree. After excellent play through the Round of Sixteen, why a straight set loss? Angelique is good but not necessarily THAT good!

    • @c-tha-man9463
      @c-tha-man9463 8 лет назад

      Jay Young Yes....I found it amazing that people thought Angelique was going to "destroy" Venus, which is ludicrous considering all but one went the distance in dramatic fashion. So for me, it was a let down because the Venus from the 4th round/Quarters did not show up. I believe if that Venus showed up, Kerber would have lost but, I digress. I'm still proud of Venus none the less; however, I wish she would've made the finals.

    • @ccaammiinniiito2
      @ccaammiinniiito2 8 лет назад

      Ctha Man You know, ironically I didn't really want to see another final between the sisters. I just was stunned that a normally fighting Vee appeared so lackluster. Remember Vee has a brand to protect, so let's not rest on laurels. I will say this and I've said a thousand times. Vee needs to move away from those long rallies. They're just not her thing. For example, her characteristically high unforced error count with no equal amount of winners, for starters. Then her first serve is often a disappointment. So Vee will have to start coming to the net oftener, more drop shots, cross court angles, and better anticipation. You see, Vee is not really that strong defensively. It's that powerful serve and alert play that puts her over the top. What say you? By the way, I'm a fan and prefer Vee's play over Serena's.

    • @c-tha-man9463
      @c-tha-man9463 8 лет назад

      Jay Young lol..yeah. One thing that frustrates me is that, she never evolved her game like Serena did. I know, if it was me, I (like you said), would change of my tactics. She can't be consistent with the power like Serena can so mixing it up would, IMO, throw her opponents off.

      Anne Marie EXACTLY! She was giving up points that she easily had, moving sluggish and didn't try to play until the end. You could see she didnt want it. But when it came to doubles, she was full of energy

      @TarHeelBlueFreak 8 лет назад

      +Talcum I don't care what you THINK is untrue and insulting, it's nothing but the truth. She didn't try at all here, but looked as fresh as ever during doubles right after this match

    • @TarHeelBlueFreak
      @TarHeelBlueFreak 8 лет назад

      ***** I'm a Venus fan! That's why I'm pissed. I know she threw this match. In her other matches when she was down, she fought back. This didn't even go to a three setter. She threw the match because she didn't want to play Serena. Making it to the Semi Finals was enough

    • @TarHeelBlueFreak
      @TarHeelBlueFreak 8 лет назад

      ***** Yes they would and I just did. She did not give 100% at all. She tanked on purpose

    • @TarHeelBlueFreak
      @TarHeelBlueFreak 8 лет назад

      Anne Marie I thought I was the only one to notice this about her game last year! She was absolutely dominating Wimbledon last year, moving well and all. Then it's like she forgot how to play. Same thing with the US Open. She pushed Serena around and dominated that second set and then just tanked. She herself even said that she's a big sister first.... But like you said, she'd better hope Serena win or she lost for nothing.
