Absolutely brilliant videos, LOVE the PFD view, gives a lot more info than most videos with that addition. Keep it up... Shoot as many of these as you can!!
This is the best cockpit view I've watched so far, loved the close ups of the instruments and the little explanations. Don't you find the controller communications with other flights distracting? I guess you get used to it, right?
Thank you ;) We get used to it yes, we also develop a very good skill of knowing when to listen or not, for example recognize your callsign during a conversation in the flight deck. Also it is very nice to hear what is happening around you.
it's _great_ to know what's happening around you, in my opinion :) especially in crowded airports n stuff. or this. xD ruclips.net/video/tzy9jCFk0Iw/видео.html
@@frederickmerle6412 Alot of pilots and airlines don't pitch up that high because 20 degrees can become really excessive. They try to make it comfortable for the passengers.
Very good video and can see the attitude of the aircaraft during take off and climb. 5000 feet per minute vertical speed rate really good along with the noise of trim motors.
Just discovered your channel and loving the videos. Watching them helps me that little bit more with my fear of flying. I love flying but I have a fear of the engines cutting out and that’s what I think about all the time when flying 😄 I want to go overseas but don’t think I could do it just yet. 😣
If you can manage your fear, then I would suggest booking a flight at a local flight school and have them take you up and show you a glide and a stall. Will do wonders for your appreciation of aircraft and how they fly, and more importantly, what would actually happen in the incredibly rare event you were on an aircraft that lost it's engines.
Lemon0Tart thanks, that’s great advice but there is no way you would get me on a small plain 😄. My late hubby was an aircraft engineer and would tell me all the things that could go wrong and bring an aircraft down. Had no fear prior to that, but the engines failing is what I fear the most and I know if they do fail there is like 20 minutes before it goes down😣
You don’t consider engine stall on takeoff. More than 20 degrees on pitch, engine may be stalled. Forget about the speed, disregard the FD pitch bar if you use higher thrust. Just maintain below 20degrees on pitch. Never load relief comes. After setting the climb power, pitch will be stable. Now you can follow FD.
Thank you ! I'm actually going to GCLP tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get some good footage for a future video. But first I'll try something else, as it's already 2 video's in a row in the Canaries ;)
Dude, I'm watching your videos as a preparation for my MCC, they are so amazing! 💪 by the way, can you tell me why the transition altitude there was so low, around 2500 feet or so?
Hi. Our company procedure is that once we're cleared to a flight level, we switch to standard altimeter, even if below transition altitude. We don't wait for the transition altitude ;)
Thank you. Yes there is one reason : I enjoy flying manually. There only 1 way to keep your flying skill : practice, practice, practice. I didn't become a pilot to push some buttons. Fortunately I'm flying a company that thinks the same way and that doesn't force us to engage automatics. On this flight I believe I engaged the autopilot at approximately 20.000ft. As it was night and there was a lot of wind I still put the flight directors on.
Thank you. Most of the time we are climb performance limited and not runway length with the 737. The more flaps we use, the shorter will be the take of run (good for shorter runways) but the worse will be our climb performance. All this is calculated automatically in our take off performance tool and it outputs the optimum flap setting, always trying to use the most runway available (by increasing take off speeds as well but that's another story) and improve climb performance. So often the result is flaps 1. Now there is one problem with flaps 1, especially on an -800, it is far more sensitive for a tail strike, so rotation technique is very important ! Our company prohibited flaps 1 take off on the -800 until very recently. Hope that helps :)
Hi, its really good to see max cockpit in details, i am pilot on NG airplane, what can you say about new engines? and what about BOSE headset, is it worth it?
v1 means that the takeoff now is no longer can be aborted so the plane must take off, before v1 the takeoff can be aborted safely in the runway,vr or rotate when the pilot begins takeoff.
Hey Max, hoe weet je in het donker welke lichtjes of wat juist jullie moeten volgen om te vertrekken of bij een landing waar je juist naar toe moet om het vliegtuig dan te parkeren?
We initially target 15° after liftoff, but then we adjust pitch to maintain airspeed. In this case with very high take off thrust we need to increase pitch. Pitch can range from 10-20° approximately on a normal day with passengers. With an empty aircraft I've already seen 25-30°
May I ask why both of you have the weather radar on terrain mode, since the before start. Was it left on from the previous flight? And if wind shear is reported, why one side is not on weather mode, to be able to use PWS? By the way, is a nice video, enjoyed.
Hi. The sky was clear so no need for weather radar. The PWS does not need the weather radar to be selected ON. It will scan automatically during takeoff and provide warnings regardless of the display setting ;)
Neat video, thanks. Anyone know what that soft sound is when passing 1100, 1400, 1600, and twice at around 2100? It sounds almost like a windscreen wiper or pneumatic cylinder cycling or something like that. I've heard it before and couldn't really correlate it to anything in particular.
It sounds like the pitch trim wheel moving... They use the trim switch on the yoke, but it causes the manual trim wheels located on wither side of the throttles to move as well, and quite a lot
During flight controls check, on the Lower Multi-Function display, Captain didn't select Flight Control page. FO didn't noticed as well and either pilot didn't cross-checked control input to output. This is a big no-no in aviation. Please be more careful next time guys. Just constructive criticism. Fly safe!
We don't have the flight controls option on our 737's ;) Also, there's no need to use it if we would have it. According to Boeing, during a flight controls check you "Verify full travel, freedom of movement, and controls return to center."

Holy shit - 4800 a minute, the passengers were certainly feeling that in the tail section. 737 is such an awesome aircraft.
Would have been even more if he had pitched into the flight director correctly like he was supposed to.
Frederick Merle I’m fairly certain that he disregarded the FD in that part of the climb because of the impacts that it would have on the passengers

Excuse my ignorance, but the weather (or terrain?) radars seem to be on...? I thought you couldn't have them on while on the ground.

Did you have auto throttled on? I noticed you were flirting with 250 under 10k ft.
Nice view en good sound Maxime. Why does your company use flaps 1 at take off while others often use 5 at a standard take-off.

The more flaps we use, the shorter will be the take of run (good for shorter runways) but the worse will be our climb performance. Wasn't the pitch level way more than normal? I thought normal was 15
Yes between 15/20 is a normal range. The pitch is so high here because we used full thrust for TO and climb due to the reported windshear.
In flight sim on my pc, 15 feels a lot. I never go more than 15 lol

Haha, fucking owned
Why there are small lags on speed tape during take off run at 8:08
it shows a constant acceleration and slight pause and then constant.
That is because of the wind. As the wind increases and decreases, so does the indicated airspeed you see here.
ok, thank you very much.
What is the meaning of that indicator that says "V1" at minute 8:28 of the video?
v1 means that the takeoff now is no longer can be aborted so the plane must take off, before v1 the takeoff can be aborted safely in the runway,vr or rotate when the pilot begins takeoff.
is that terrain showing up on radar? or wxr?

😂 I thought he said 'beauty' because he gained start-up permission 😂
normally planes would climb at around 15 degrees after takeoff right? Was this a special occasion to pitch higher to climb faster?
We initially target 15° after liftoff, but then we adjust pitch to maintain airspeed. In this case with very high take off thrust we need to increase pitch. Pitch can range from 10-20° approximately on a normal day with passengers. With an empty aircraft I've already seen 25-30°
