Watching this as a Replay and love this Andrew. I joined your academy recently and watched some Live already. This Academy is the best. Learning a lot! Thank you for your time and passion that you share with us.
I do paint aswell but I am not a peofesionel painter!!! I am still learning and I learn sowmuch off your methode of oainting !!!! I admire your way off painting somuch...Yhank you somuch for sharing your methode I really enjoy every painting Andew!!!!
I’m glad you’re a talker…thats what I enjoy and how I learn best. You touched on a number of important topics including emerging artists, burnout, etc that would not be communicated if we were just watching you lay down brush strokes. Thanks for your generosity in making these videos.
I was recovering from having a hip replacement surgery about 5 hours previously and your live podcast helped me escape from it all. As usual I found you so rewarding in insights on the simplest of things as well as some more revealing points in mixing. Watching regularly I find my approach to my work slowly change for the better. I know I will gain so much from all your academy inputs.
hi andrew I have been following you for 2 years I bought your Milford Saound DVD I am progressing I don't speak English but I follow your gestures I fell in love with your technique and your mastery of colors thank you for surprising me
I absolutely love that you "talk too much!" 😂 Since the first video I watched of yours, I told myself that this man is aligned with his soul! Not only does it show in your creativie expressions, but in your verbal expressions as well. You have beautiful perspective.
I watched the replay. Sorry I missed the live. One of the things that most impacted me was that you give your Heavenly Father top billing in your day. I tell you, if Jesus is at your center then everything else works wonderfully! Thank you for that bit. I am an old artist and I have never stopped learning. Even from those that barely started. I put your videos on while I work on my commissioned pieces.
Interesting that you mentioned Albert Bierstadt. I went to an art museum in Boca Raton Florida a few years back when I was starting to get interested in painting. There wasn't a single painting I found interesting or that even looked good ( in my opinion ) in the entire place. I found one single painting in the building that I really liked. It was a landscape painting. I looked closer at the information tag and it was painted in the late 1800's by a guy named Albert Bierstadt. Never heard of him or the Hudson river guys at that point in time, but always remembered the name of the one artist that stood out amongst all the others in that museum. I found it funny and a bit sad at the same time that the only piece of art in the building that looked like the artist put time, effort, and skill into making it was from a guy that died over 100 years ago.!
Hiee, good to see my favourte artist on live, thank you sir with help of your videos i learnt a lot.. following all rules of oul painting. I have mentioned you in my blogh..yess besides im self tought artist am giving learning lessons for beginers.... and newly who wanted to start their passion again in late years.🎉thank you so much..Archana dighe.. India.
Cleaning brushes is easy. I first clean the brush in Winsor & Newton water mixable linseed oil then finish with good grease cutting soap and water. Or you could paint with water mixable oil paints, just don't use water as a medium.
Hi andrew love ❤ your art and energy.. I've been painting all my life .. had my youtube channel for almost 2 years.. I've taught oils since 1994. I am a native to Oregon and lots to share with my viewers as I stay dedicated to video now. You've been an inspiration in my new endeavor.. Plz consider a colaberation
Brillant, I am in the High Sierras in California doing a number of Plein Air studies.. I have learned so much from you, and grateful to see how you worship Jesus in the way you paint. Learning about how much detail to include in the paintings. It is easy to try and put in to much detail. Do you have a rule on how much detail you include in your paintings and composition . Love my membership in the academy. WIsh you had some more Plein air demos, thanks... Ed
Don't take this wrong....but we have this amazing artist for two hours....and were spending time on what type of brushes he uses!!! Really.........Id much rather hear him talking about painting techniques. You can find that other information from his web site.....but rarely do you get FREE access to a guy of this caliber think about what your asking and see if it can be found easily elsewhere. Also alot of it is also covered in his many other videos on line!!!!!
Hey Andrew , really enjoy your live painting am a subscriber to your channel for some years now. My question is what other colors do u used in your sky n mountain colors to gray them down.
question. are you worried about the reflection of the back-most mountain? doesn't seem as it would bast a reflection at that distance and also with the ridge of the far most bank of the pond raised up a bit. wouldn't the reflection of the midground mountains the ones to think about most?
Pintores chilenos lobos Valdés lobos alfaro fueron muy comerciales con una pinceladas muy bonita . Cortez silva marinas échale un vistazo Andrew me dice s que te parecieron . gracias
Thank you for this! It’s so helpful to see your process. I sometimes struggle to deviate from my photo references so it was really useful to see how you changed your painting and added new elements to make it work. Thanks again!

Soak your oil painting brushes in Dettol.
I use Gamsol to clean my brushes using g a 3 jar method. I have a video about this on my channel!
Thanks so much!
I clean my brushes with liquid dish soap. The green one. It's called sunlight in Africa and Morning Fresh in Australia.

Como cada quien tiene su idea, a mí me gustaba la lejanía de la montaña.

Mantap broo.....
Mantap broo
I've never been able to mix close to the vibrant colour you can get from a tube of Turquoise or Cobalt Teal
