This song brings back so many memories, fond and bittersweet. There was a girl who lived in Canada who I knew closely on and off over the course of probably eight years. I was an idiot to shut her off the first time, and the second time was a misunderstanding on my part at a time when I snapped at anything. This song reminds me of her, I will never forget you, Erin Anne. My heart aches with bitter sweetness remembering what was, and what could have been a long and meaningful friendship.
I keep coming here . . . to this song . . . i don't know why . . . its one of those songs that i can spend a whole year without . . . but i never forget it and always end up coming back to . . . i even reached out to Owsey directly a few years ago ,to ask if he was planning on new stuff with Dustin . . . but it wasn't in their plans at the time xD . . . its ok tho . . . this is enough . . .

Owsey n dustin introduced me to red house painters ,sun kill moon n mark kozelek through this rendition of carry me ohio. Mark kozeleks voice is heavenly, angelic, his songs are melodies you'll not hear anywhere. It's very heavenly n happy-sad vibes, mind n heart really opens up wide.

The audio at the beginning sounds like "This is it, Joel" and it makes me think of Ellie's voice from The Last of Us
And this song makes me imagine that after the ending of TLoU, Joel and Ellie continue their adventures and survival for another year or so until they are either dying of starvation and dehydration from lack of supplies from coming across so many abandoned towns or they are completely trapped in a situation where they are completely surrounded by infected. They have no motivation to continue so they know the easiest way out is a bullet to each others head and so Ellie mutters those last words "This is it, Joel. It's gonna be gone soon.. What do we do?"
