Delightful baking with the children! I've loved malt bread since I first had it as an au pair in the UK many many many years ago. It was a brand called French's Malted Fruit Loaf but sadly doesn't seem to be made any longer by that company. Your recipe looks very much like how I remembered it I used to love to toast it a bit to warm it up then spread on the butter. Thank you for posting this.
