When I was there, the waves were not as bad as this, but still, I kept far away from the waves. There are numerous warning signs about "sneaker waves" and they should be taken very seriously.
Same here went in 2019 and they had a death count sign. I hate the ocean so this beach was kinda terrifying for me, when we went the waves smaller than this but still powerful

No, no hay rescatistas en esa playa...el gobierno ha expuesto muchos carteles de advertencia y recomendaciones para visitadores y turistas necios, quienes arriesgan su vida por una foto o adrenalina, saben perfectamente que si sucede lo peor , nadie va a venir a salvarlos. Es a riesgo propio andar de imprudente en esa playa
I think this film is misleading. It really doesn't show the way people standing so near to the water can suddenly be engulfed by 'sneaker' waves, knocked off their feet and find it difficult to stand up again. They should have notice boards on these beaches with the names and photos of the people who have been killed by these rogue waves over the years.
Most of them were at a safe enough spot to only get wet feet, but those who went around the corner were surely idiots.
@@Professor_Internet_PhD Maybe you're not fully familiar with the waves on this beach but if you are close enough to get your feet wet you are certainly not in a 'safe enough spot'. These are not normal beeches. When those rogue waves come in and you are at the water's edge they will sweep you off your feet.
Signs everywhere warning everyone to stay away from the surf. But would make a great social media post to be seen carried off into freezing cold water. Ok let's risk it. Darwin award nominees.
Please think about all those that you love and care about,listen to the local people,take notice of all the warnings that are their..this ain't no playground people or a joke!..it's real..very real,and if you ignore these icy waters,these waves will come and get you..as it has done sadly many times before..remember if these waves get you,it's over..it's that easy...DEAD EASY!!!!.
I doubt anyone there knew it, but the strong offshore wind probably kept the sneaker waves down. The waves couldn't pile up on themselves offshore.

Those tourist were in an extremely dangerous situation there. I am so sad to think about all the tourist who ended their lives just at that beautiful powerful place.

They are sneaky. 10 times they stop at a certain point..the 11th comes 10..15m closer and takes you.
And the water is freezing as well. Plus you get waterlogged because you’re wearing heavy clothes.
It's much worse. They not only risk their lifes but also take very noisy recordings. And very boring.
