Wow. An Italian living in Finland.. I'm Lithuanian living in the UK and I have to say it doesn't rain here as much as I was expecting. But the skies are grey more often than I'd like to. Sending much love to everyone appreciating those little glimpses of sun during winter :)
Very good tips! I love the idea of focusing on the bright moments! And the darkness also has it’s positive sides, it kind of gives you permission to slow down and stay at home❤️
I live in Montreal, Canada. Our winters can be dark and cold. The days when there is less daylight are around December 21. After that, daylight starts to improve. Today is January 26 and sunset is at 5pm so not so bad. We got 20 cm of snow yesterday so I went for a 4 km walk on a trail adjacent to the St-Laurence river where we live. It was great to walk in the fresh snow. A lot of Canadians spend from a week to a few months down south in Florida, Mexico Or the Caribbean but this year, we staying in town. Watching your videos is making me appreciate winter. Our summers are beautiful. I like the 4 seasons that we have and couldn’t live in a hot climate all the time. I visited Italy and southern France during the summer and the temperatures are close to 40 degrees C, way to hot fo me.
Thank you for sharing your experience and great advice. No question, darkness and light affect the mood, and acceptance of the situation is very important. I'm so happy I live in the south now 🤣
I bet you are happy about that 😂 Without sun it is a bit more difficult but how you said, accepting the situation is very important! Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for showing what the darkness looks like at different times, I was definitely wondering! I love that you talked about what you're focusing on for your mindset. Great video!
That is something I've never really thought about, but I do know that as the days get shorter here in MT, I do feel very different. Great video and you've got a new fan.
Ooh that darkness, it looks a bit like the Netherlands, we call it the dark days before Christmas. Although it would probably last much longer in Finland I assume, because it is a lot further north. There are some people who suffer from winter depression
I would say that's true but not really happy in the sense of joy that you show to everyone, we are known to be quite silent at times 😂 It's an easy country to found inner peace though for sure 😊
I live in France my husband is French and I am Finn - but I still don't have issues with the darkness - in fact I search for it. I tend to prefer staying up late in evening even the night - I am retired due health reasons so not working makes it possible. I hate sun and hot weather in summer - my skin will instaburn and I can't even tolerate clothing, because the skin already feels like a fur coat. But for me - back home - I would not stick my nose out in winter anyways, so I just stayed at home doing my own things - or simply sleeping long long like a bear ;). But here the winter is like my favorite seasons - spring and fall - anyways so I like at least that. But I miss Sauna a lot, feel like my skin and hair have began to suffer here without it. At least with sauna you don't need a ton of skin care products. But that aside - we will be moving to Finland once my husbands son is legally adult. And my husband, being the kind of a man who does not have life dreams - just has not before found anything such interesting that he would dream of it after certain harsh events - gets all excited now speaking about the move there. I am just happy we will be doing that, cause - no offence France, but Finland is the best. I want to get out of this sardine can of an apparent building back into my house middle of the forest far out nowhere.
That's actually pretty uncommon! Never heard about someone loving darkness, but if you really can't stand the hotness in summer, Finland is really the best 😍 (that's actually why we spend all summers in Finland instead of Sicily 😂) We are glad you are coming back to your homeland, we wish you the best! ❤️
Oh this is a surprise for me to hear, because a lot of people get quite scared after seeing how cold and dark can be in winter 😂 I am glad you would like to visit here, it is a really magic country, even in winter I promise 😉❤️
Are you a type that feels affected by darkness and weather or not? 🌡️❄️🌫️☁️☂️☀️
yup.. very much
Wow! And I thought British winters were dark! Thanks for the video that gives me perspective to appreciate where I am :-)
Yes, i am affected. Though when it gets darker i feel somewhat safer. Who knows, something wrong in my head =D

That's true, a lot of people keep saying that in UK rains all the time, we end up expecting much worse than it actually is 😂

Yes, slowing down and focusing on relaxation is sometimes exactly what we need 😊

Yeah, and we have a lot of snow here at least. I've heard there it's not that usual to have it during this time?
What a fun video. I'm not really a fan of the cold. But sometimes it can be fun.
Suuure and when snow comes it is an entire different experience 😄
I want to move in Finland cuz many people say Finnish people are so kind and happy
