Great. I've never heard the tam-tam linger at the end like that. Sounds a bit strange. It kind of takes the thrill away and prevents any pre-applause bravos, which are always fun.
Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser spätromantischen und ethnisch komponierten Suite mit farbenreichen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt detailliert. Der intelligente und geniale neue Chefdirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im rhythmischen Tempo und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich hörenswert!
For me, this is Rachmaninoff's greatest work. NDR's excellent sound engineering and videography.

what did the piano play at 2:10 ? thats not in the score.
Good question. I couldn't find it in the score either. Maybe some strange sketchy edition of this work?
Rachmaninoff added these notes that are usually not in the printed editions but can be found in some archive/library scores.
great piece but i like a real fast temp. Quicker than this , particularly the first movement .. remember It is a Dance
a sarabande is a dance too, so you mean we can have a sarabande going at Presto
The orchestra plays beautifully! The same conductor does a wonderful job with Tchaikovsky's Orchestral Suite#3; while this is not his strength. Too slow.
