The Most Important Lesson I Can Teach You (Day Trading Secrets)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- If you are new to day trading and just getting started with the stock market (and want to learn how to trade profitably), the lesson I cover in the video is the true secret to success. To offer a little spoiler, this secret is nothing fancy and in all actuality, is very anti-climatic. Whether you believe me or not, all I would ask is please find a successful trader you do know and ask them if what I talk about is true. Anyone who is a successful day trader and makes money consistently online with stocks will agree that the strategy I show you is by far the most important lesson you could learn as a beginner. If you focus on what I show you and practice good habits and strategies from the start, you are giving yourself a true chance at success within the stock market.

Really appreciate your transparency. The one thing I learned from you that Jared and Ross do not emphasize is having realistic expectations. To efficiently make $100 on a trade your trade size needs to be $50k. In order to get in and make $50 and get out in a few seconds I usually buy 100 shares of "STOCK" at $280 and when it gets to $280.50 I can get out. So it means I must have account size so that this one trade needs $28,000 by itself. When I tell people who do not trade or do not trade this way they are very surprised. I traded a small account for the first 2 years expecting $200 a day and was getting tore up every time I tried to scale up because I was waiting too long in a position.
Thanks! Lesson: To efficiently make $100 on a trade your trade size needs to be $50k And have your finger on the rip chord.
Good thoughts. Thanks!

Exactly! Or your SO asks you how you did and you only tell her the profits and leave out the stocks that will "eventually" recover.

I remember about two years/three ago I was the proud owner of 4 shares of $10-20 pot stocks and it drove me crazy and it would be $1-3 dollars up or down that day. Now I will be -$600 in the hole in Tesla stock and I just kind of shrug it off. It's all relative I guess :)

Great advice. So many times I stay in a trade and watch it keep going the wrong way thinking I'm going to be an investor. Then, by the end of the day or the next, I decide that it's time to get out by which time I'm down a lot of money. So, I usually day trade in stocks that I wouldn't mind holding long term in case it goes quickly against me. Such a psychological thing, however.
Indeed!
Made it all the way to the end. I'm new to your account but not new to your content. You're a good teacher and your videos are clear and very much educational. I love'em. Keep it up.

Thank for this, this will save thousands of dollars. I believe the second most important lesson, which kind of goes hand in hand with this, is dont be greedy. I cant tell you how many times I was up $100 and didn't sell and ended up at minus $2000.

Yes I watched the whole video. I agree with what you basically said, "do not be greedy, a lot of small wins turns out to be a big win in the end.
Thanks for watching!
I am just kidding Clay. I appreciate you teaching people and talking about the markets. This "game" is tough and we need players.
You must be bored.....
The most important lesson, "You have to be 100% objective when you have voices inside your head"
Indeed
@@claytrader I had this doubt for a long time that should I agree with voices inside my head or not? but when I started applying that on every trade it made things so much clear for me
@@mk_4567 great!
That's why even before placing the trade, the first 2 things you have to KNOW... What's my target risk out and what's my risk to reward. You let the trade go to those 2 places ONLY... RISK = LOSS or REWARD = WIN. Those are the only 2 places we should ever exit trades... and while it's moving you leave it alone. Yes, sometimes we get stopped out before it goes our way. Yes sometimes it goes our way only to collapse and take us out. We MUST let the market do that to us because the game we are playing is not with our own mind, but with our self-discipline. We will never be able to predict markets 100% of the time but we can predict ourselves and our consistency. We have to get out of our own way when trading... micro managing trades EVENTUALLY ALWAYS leads to us making the wrong decisions... especially when emotion is working its way through us while we are in a trade.
Good thoughts!
Keep the hole small. By far the most informative video I’ve seen to date. This one was an eye-opener and a game changer.
Thanks for watching Ben!
Managing risk is the biggest lesson of this session.
indeed
Keep the hole small! Words to live by in trading.

As someone new to trading, it seems counter-intuitive to see "prices went up, oh no", but that's because you're playing to short, and essentially "selling high (on borrowed funds?), THEN buying low"... right? I always think you'd want to buy low and sell high, but that's what seems so weird.
Great videos, following them all very closely as I'm just getting started, and using replays and papermoney to get the feel of various UIs and an understanding of these different types of strategies. Watching you pull the trigger on 1500 shares, and then be happy with 42$ in the green is humbling as well. People think they're going to walk into a casino, put down $100 on roulette, and hit that exact number. That's just not how it works.
Great content, thanks for taking the time to post these.

"Keep the hole small" Iv been watching your videos for the last few weeks, I finally started an account to play a bit more in the market, Iv been trading a bit with my 401k and have actually been able to stop my standard payments into the 401k and replace it with the earnings from a few day trades a week. I’m curious to your risk management parameters…do you have a set ceiling or floor when you trade a stock either for a gain or for a loss? Something like a 20% gain or no more than a %20 loss? I apologize if this is hard for you to understand I’m still learning this and I’m trying to learn the specifics of going into the trade beforehand.
