- I tried Sarah J Maas's new writing schedule while she, her husband, and her son are living in Hawaii! In this writing experiment, I tried writing like Sarah J Maas in Hawaii. I work on writing a book outside as a part of SJM's writing schedule while she lives in Maui. (I, however, am not in Hawaii 😂.)

Love this, I'm setting up an outdoor space where I can drink my coffee and write. No water near by, but a lot of birds and some pretty trees.

I've been dying to write near a beach. There are no beaches near me and I probably won't be going to one but maybe one day lol Now that the weather is getting better I literally get stir crazy staying inside. My husband bought me a hammock for Christmas and I'm so excited to write while sitting on it! Great video Sara!
That sounds so relaxing! I never really thought about putting up a hammock, but that's a great idea!
@@ChandraArthur Ahh yes!! You should definitely get one! it's just a different vibe from sitting at a table or in a chair, seems a bit beachy when it's not. Though you can also put on some beach waves ambience too and then it might feel like it! lol

I love writing outside in the morning!! as the weather has gotten nicer I’ve been going outside before work to work on creative stuff and it’s SO helpful. love this!!

I live in Rhode Island and happened to find a bench overlooking the ocean and did some writing there. It's not something I can do every day, but I treat myself whenever I can.

I love Hawaii! Seriously one of my favorite places I’ve lived. Given the opportunity I would probably go back there in a heartbeat. But maybe now Oahu. It was so crowded.

I did! Learned to snorkel and scuba dive there, practically lived at the beach. It was awesome.

Make it a goal! Honestly some of the best diving I’ve done. Electric beach was my favorite, but there are other good spots on Oahu. On Maui there is an organized night dive with manta rays. I never got to do it, but it’s still a goal of mine.

Oh my goshhhh! I am still listening to your intro video, are you moving to Hawaii for this video? lol. I have never tried writing outside because I feel weird writing in parks lol. Idek why. But this video was so interesting

I may try this tomorrow. I have been walking first thing in the morning. Perhaps I will walk in a park with tables and in doing so, I can walk and then plunk down in a park and write for an hour in the park. Starting the day with writing helps me, I admit it.

I was surprised to see you writing so much by hand. Do you write full chapters or just notes?
Depends on what I'm working on! Often just handwriting notes and initial chapter ideas down and then I type them up as a "second pass"
I use to be an early bird. It's been a while. I think I might need to get back to it. There is something about the morning that is awesome. Though it means you can't sleep in. Oh well. I can sleep when i'm dead.

When you said "my apartment has a pool" I was so confused 😂 what does she mean? She has a pool in the middle of her living room? Is her bathtub that big? WHAT KIND OF FLEX IS THIS? Then I saw the actual pool and understood what you meant and I've never felt more silly 😋😂

I wonder if it fell through again because we haven't heard any more updates and I'm pretty sure SJM left Cali a while ago to move back to Philly

I found beta readers on instagram :) but there are Facebook groups and writing groups that would be happy to help with beta feedback

I thought this was a reupload of your old vid....How is recording the sky disrespectful of other people? You're minding your own business. Some people record sunset/sunrise on a timelapse and the result is beautiful.
She meant she recorded the sky instead of the pool where people would be visible in the video to not disrespect their privacy
I recorded the sky because I didn't want to be disrespectful of recording my screen while people were in swimsuits in the background
