I started the game up around 11pm just to try out the first level…and had to turn it off around 3am cause it just kept going.
Maybe I was exploring too much, but it feels like the level design in this game is needlessly sprawling and abysmally long-which doesn’t lend well at ALL to the fast-paced burst gameplay (that unfortunately borrows 100% wholesale from Doom 2016/Eternal, down to the soundtrack).
I know this was made by a small dev team, so bugs glitches and getting stuck in geometry notwithstanding, I’d still like to give it a fair shake. But so far, on a fundamental level, Son and Bone has been a huge letdown and I can’t honestly recommend to anyone this interests.
So, Turok, but Doomified.
I was thinking turok but instead of playing as an indian you play as a cowboy
@@rickkillinger418 Which, in my opinion, is pretty sacrilegious. They even made their title a pastiche of, “Son of Stone,” implying they were familiar with the deep lore of Turok, they make their main character look like Col. Custer. It’s unbelievable tone deaf and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Gameplay looks more like Serious Sam than Turok
This review was WAY better than Mega Media Overload's so-called "review" of Son and Bone, which hardly qualified as one at all.
Wow, thanks so much for the compliment! I’m really glad you found this review helpful. I always aim to give an honest and in-depth take on games, so it means a lot to hear that feedback. Feel free to drop your thoughts on the game if you’re playing it!
I love it! Its turok, its fun! The levels are way too big but so was turok. No game breaking bugs here or unplayable, managed to beat it and its janked at best but not to the point of unplayable like some peopla claim it to be
This was the only review video on Son and Bone I could find, and it was pretty solid! I just might pick up this game at some point in the future!

How long is the game?
@@MrDarthCIS It takes around 6-8 hours to complete the main story, depending on your playstyle and difficulty level. If you’re going for 100% completion or just enjoying some extra dino-slaying fun, it could take a bit longer.
Good review man, hope your channel gets some love!

I give Teamkill Media credit, they made a game that is a blast to play. Love the game.
This game is Turok and Doom had a kid and gave it up fpr adoption, it was adopted and raised by Skull Island: Rise of Kong and LotR: Gollum....
Great concepts that needed more money and time, as of right now I feel rather cheated and definitely should've wait to buy it... But I am somewhat optimistic not delusional nor naive, I expected some rough edges but this is nearly unplayable.... My advice is to wait for updates and fixes....
I’ll guess I’ll wait till it’s on sale.
Played a couple hours, great game to just turn your brain off and just blast Dino’s haha
Does it have a decent story, or anything to motivate you to progress?
@@josephjoy2245so far there doesn’t seem to be much story but seeing what new guns (there’s a lot) will be in the next shop and what new enemy I will encounter has kept me wanting to play more
@@freddiegreen6491 what would you rate it out of 10?? The game looks good to me tho, just trying to assess if worth $30, or better to get on sale
I enjoyed it too.
Gracias por el analisis del juego, le dare una oportunidad, me recuerda a Turok. Buen analisis.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the review. Turok is definitely a classic, and I can see the resemblance. Hope you enjoy the game! Feel free to share your thoughts after you give it a try!
so its like turok but he´s the bastard son of doom
Turok 2024.
I am in!
I just beat it, this game was awful. Levels are way too open ended and I ended up just running past 90% of enemies. At least it has the mercy of being short. Also you can fire too many bullets and end up with -2 rounds in your gun which is one of the many, many game bugs present. Definitely needed more time to cook.
Do you know if there will be a physical version.
I haven’t seen any official announcements yet about a physical version of Son and Bone. Right now, it’s only available digitally on platforms like the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. However, it’s possible a physical release could be considered later if there's enough demand. Keep an eye on updates from TeamKill Media for any future announcements!
Is there cheats
As of now, I haven’t come across any official cheats for Son and Bone. It’s possible that some might be added later through updates or mods, especially for the PC version, but nothing has been confirmed yet. If you’re looking to enhance your experience, I’d recommend keeping an eye on forums or the developer’s updates for any news on cheat codes or mods. Let me know if you find anything, and I’ll keep you posted if I come across any!
There are cheats but I don't know how to access them.
There is a list of cheats in the game menu but they require a password entry to activate. I've completed the game but no codes have been revealed, nothing unlocked. Bit of a mystery at the moment.
It's not a €36 game😢
The game is horrible and isn't worth the asking price lol
I get it, man! If the game feels like a letdown for you, especially for the price, that’s a totally fair take. Not every game delivers the value we hope for. Thanks for chiming in with your thoughts-your feedback helps others decide if it's worth it for them too!
Man PC players will play anything this looks awful
I dunno Witchfire looks better than this, this looks and feels like Vermitide
Game looks terrible.
Endless trash
I'm playing through now and this is the only review I found on youtube. Couldn't disagree more with your review. For example you mention the soundtrack, lol what soundtrack? The same beat being played endlessly per level? Ready to rip the speakers out of my tv! I guess shooting things is fun and the things are aliens/dinosaurs so that parts cool. However when they're getting stuck in the geometry or just pain old not moving or reacting to my player it just further cements the cash grab scam this game is. 4/10 at most experience.
Thanks for sharing your honest take! I totally get that the repetitive soundtrack and bugs like enemies getting stuck can ruin the experience. It’s definitely not perfect, and your 4/10 makes sense if those issues are front and center for you. I appreciate you checking out the review and bringing up these points!
i skimmed through a longplay, it has about 5 tracks from what i saw.
OST is 1hr12min, 22 tracks.
On my playthrough there was a different full length metal track per level. Proper metal with blast beats and rapid double bass pedalling. However, on certain plays I noticed the ambient/ non-combat tracks would loop forever, even when fighting started. Then I'd reload and the music switched up more suitably.
I think there is a bug with the music not loading properly on cue to what's happening on screen. That might be why it seemed like you had only one on loop to the point of getting annoyed, understandably.
Turok has the same thing with the soundtrack. If you haven't played turok and not a fan, then the game is not for you
