In this Video I am working on an idea for a folding shaving horse especially for people with limited space i am developing the idea and building a prototype i have decided to build it out of easily found dimension wood , Keeping in mind that it should be easy to build with limited tools , a hand saw a drill a screwdriver or a hammer . This is not a How To Video rather a chance to hang out in the workshop together and figure it out . I would love to hear your feedback so please comment below,if you like what you see please Like and Subscribe to see more of my content and click on the notification bell so that you wont miss my latest Video Take Care David

Talking of lockdown, I've made a Wooden cup last year with basic hand tools, that took me 4 full days to make, it comes out nice but when it dried it cracked.
But I am happy with it because it was my first attempt....!

Been watching Mustie1 for ages, you’ve both got a very similar approach which is probably why this is about the 6th video of yours I’ve watched tonight. 😀 Pencils, tape measures, speed squares and Stanley knives all have holiday homes they bolt to the second you put them down! Pesky.

Hi again David. Could I ask what wood you use for the chair legs I’ve got a project that that kind of timber would be perfect for. The ones you did the video on mortise ends? Thanks.

Hi David,l used to be involved with a couple of chestnut fencing manufacturers(collecting raw materials from the woods and delivering the finished product) and they always had shaving horses. A very simple, very useful piece of equipment! Good to see you are well and all the best in these uncertain times.

Rustic David There is still a company based in Haslemere Surrey that are still going. And where l keep my gypsy caravan the young lady is a coppicer and charcoal burner with two kilns. There are hurdle makers still about as well. As far as l know there are a few in the Hampshire,Sussex and Surrey areas still keeping the tradition alive.

Rustic David Hi again,we are able to go out for essentials and to “excercise” also work if it is possible to stay apart 2m. I retired from truck driving, upped sticks and moved from Devon back to Hampshire. It has been almost an enlightenment!

Fun stuff. I hope you get a look at Sean Hellman’s too. It is made on such a great design concept. It is adaptable to the size of the user, sits on a diagonal beam and puts the work at the perfect height once the seat height is set. Look for Harry Rogers video on youtube. Just looks fantastic. I hope try to make one this spring/summer to replace the one I’ve been using for the last few years.
