When you see the plant humanized in such a way..it makes it even more scary how the whole thing ends..remember folks..the movie with Rick Moranis is an alternate GOOD ending with just a little bit of a hint to what could have been a future sequel..the actual ending is MUCH darker and they actually filmed that..but it didn't test well with audiences since the villain wins in the end. You needed a "recommend" score of 55% to get a release..they got a 13 in New York's test screening and a similar low score in LA, so they had to redo the whole ending to get it released.
The asinine part is that that's how the original movie _and_ the musical ends. Sure, in the 1960 movie Audrey Jr. is shown to be wilting and potentially dying, but that wouldn't necessarily stop it. And Seymour getting eaten is poetic justice in a way. EDIT: Also the Director's Cut has the original ending, and I definitely prefer it.
And part of the reason the ending got changed was because Rick Moranis’s Seymour was more likable and sympathetic. So having him and Audrey offed in the movie really rubbed test audiences the wrong way.

I like how the longer the story goes along, the more evolved and creative Audrey 2's outfit get. It not only shows you how bigger he gets, but also how powerful he's getting.

Officially, Audrey 2 is an Extraterrestrial Plant. But the way he manipulates Seymour sounds rather reminiscent of a Demon, or perhaps a Scammer. Just goes to show how Evil Audrey 2 actually is.

Instead of a male actor like the late Levi Stubbs, it's going to be voice by a female actress instead. The actress will be Scarlett Johansson Unfortunately, the film has been postponed indefinitely because of the pandemic

Are these the original lyrics?(I've only seen the movie) If so, I might be more on board with the original ending. Having Seymour purposefully lead Mushnik to the plant to be eaten makes him a lot less likeable.
