Visiting the Dunder Mifflin Office Building (exterior only) || The Office || DJI Drone

- The Tru Drone Team visited the filming site of The Office. Though the series takes place in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the series was mostly filmed in Los Angeles. We spent most of our time looking at the eastern building of Chandler Valley Center Studios, which was used as the outside of the Scranton Business Park. Unauthorized entry is prohibited and they have blocked the gate now with a black cover, so it's difficult to see the building even if you do stop by.
I do not own the clips from the TV series. Clips from The Office were used under Fair Use in order to show a contrast and to educate the population about this famous site.
All aerial footage is ours, but feel free to use it in your own projects. Just make sure to credit our channel and provide a link to the video, like so:

Why is this making me cry? 🤣🤣🤣 if i could visit this place one day, I would be a really happy man.
Wipe those tears, buddy. The Office will never die.
Just a heads up, if you do visit, there's not a lot you can see from the ground. The front gate has been covered by black material
@@TruDroneVideos now this makes me cry even more. Tears of joy!!! 😭😭😭
This made you cry? Lmfao dude ur pathetic
Wow, it messes with my head seeing the building in "real life". It's kind of haunting, because it looks no different. And always weird to be reminded that the indoor scenes were filmed elsewhere.
Tell me about it. The inside scenes were filmed just next door on the sound stage. You can get a glimpse if that at around the 1:40 mark
I assume some scene where you ca see the parking lot from the inside are shot here
They were filmed elsewhere? Damn I didn't know haha.
Wish I never read this comment tho 😕 😂
I went there yesterday and my mind was blown. Homeless camps up and down that street now. Was sketchy AF and pretty sad. My Lyft driver didn’t want me to get out of the car to take a picture. I’ve always wanted to see that building and it was a little soul crushing.
I totally understand. That's how L.A. is now. Tons of homeless people everywhere. At least the homeless dude living in front of the dunder mifflin building was nice. He was very amazed with the drones. Said tons of people stop by to take pictures, but you really can't see much from the street, so they mostly leave disappointed
Gotta love those democratic policies!
Thank Biden for that.
@@TruDroneVideos wait the building isn't in Scranton pa?
@@mr.fahrenheit7009 Nope. Most filming locations for The Office are in LA
Love it! It’s so funny of me that i remember all the scenes LOL good work
There was a lot more I wish I could have included
Yeah it felt soo........nostalgic😭😞😢
Feeling so gutted while watching this... My teenage years went watching that awsome show.. Thanks for posting it
Yeah, no problem. The Office will always live on as long as there are loyal fans 👍
This is bloody brilliant. I love that show so much. Pretty cool to see the exact spots where certain scenes were filmed
This was a fun one to make
You allways live in our hearts dunder mifflin
😭
They need to release behind the scenes of the set i’d pay money for that.
There are some on youtube
Most beloved building
Awe man this really bought back memories. ❤❤❤ thoroughly enjoyed this tour💋
Thanks for watching
I get those goose bumps every time.
My dear friend.
Thank you for sharing this great video. Have a good time and see you again.👍🙋🏻♂️
Thank you for watching, my friend
"I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."
I do declare
A fan of The Office. Thank you for the shots!! :D
I'm also a big fan 👍👍
Pretty cool drone footage of the office building! Thats awesome! I really need to rewatch that show!
And I should probably stop watching. It's pretty much all I've watched for the last year
Love the office! I’d like to visit this place.
You can if you're near L.A.
Cool. Thanks for uploading!!!
Our pleasure
Really great show and so nice to see the office again!
Exploring it was a lot of fun. Thanks for watching
Excellent video! Loved all the scenes you added! I want to re watch the office now!
Beautiful drone shots!
Thank you. Yeah, I would definitely be watching it now if Netflix hadn't removed it
@@TruDroneVideos I actually watched it again a few months back using a VPN
I watched it at least 10 times this past year
@@TruDroneVideos now that is dedication
@@TruDroneVideos I’ve had it all on DVD for years😊
Really awesome! Thanks a lot for making this
Np we had a lot of fun making this one
Great video, thank for making this.
You forgot to show creed happily flying his rc helicopter on the rooftop
You're right. Totally missed that one
There was so many sweet memories made in that building over in the States :)
Yes, it was very bittersweet to explore it
This is amazing footage, wow, I really enjoyed this! The music you're using is really effective too. Wonderful filmmaking, congratulations :)
Thank you very much for your kind comment
i was waiting to see michaels dent in the pavement... how dare they pave over it D:
We were also looking for it. Doesn't seem to be there anymore
Thats so cool I love the office - thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Love it!! Very nice presentation and beautiful shots captured by drone
Thank you very much for your kind comment
What an amazing footage! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing this.
My pleasure. Hope you enjoyed
Loved it. Thank you for making, and sharing.
Yeah, no problem. Thanks for watching
this place looks cool thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for checking us out. Cheers 🍻
Just an FYI the sound studio was not located within this building thats also used for the exterior scenes. It was actually located on the building to the left of the building used for filming exterior scenes.
Excellent job! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching
You can imagine dwight’s firebird trans am parked right beside the gate
This is such a cool video. I’ve seen a couple of videos of The office.
Thanks for watching
Wow cool office. Interesting once you stepped in the office. Great video.
It was definitely an interesting visit. So many scenes came to mind as we flew around the property
Cool drone footage. We finally started watching the office this year, on the last season now.
Nice. I hope you've enjoyed the series
Great vid, so well done. My kids and I just drove there today.
Oh, nice! Were you able to see anything? The last time we went, they had put some black fabric over the gate, so there wasn't much to see
I really thought this was in Pennsylvania somewhere 😭
There is a real Scranton, Pennsylvania. They have benefited nicely from the show's popularity. But yeah, the show was filmed mostly in L.A.
@@TruDroneVideos according to the office ladies podcast, some outdoor scenes, they have to make sure that there were no California palm trees included in the shot. 😅
@@thejoeyjason They also had to wear winter coats and pretend it was cold, but they were in L.A. and it was often pretty hot
Oh my gosh I really love the show "The Office" and I honestly did not know that that place is actually real.
One of our favorite shows, too. Felt so lucky to be able to visit
I always thought it was shot in that building for the whole series! Super interesting.
Things were really cramped in season 1 when they shot it inside an actual office building. The actors, camera crews, directors, writers, sound crew were all squeezed into tight quarters. Everyone was much more comfortable when they switched to a sound stage
@@TruDroneVideos They also wanted to control day/night and weather conditions
That was great, friend! Thanks for sharing. See ya around. Happy new year!
Thanks for watching. Happy new year to you as well
Wow I forgot your in L.A, lol you got every Hollywood show over there
Yeah, lots of cinema activity over here
We love the office
Me too. It's a great show that many people find at least somewhat relatable. Thanks for watching
I also am subscribed. :D Thanks for bringing me the memories back of my favorite show. :) *The Office* I hope it actually comes back this year in 2021. :D
Thank you for watching and subscribing 👍
@@TruDroneVideos You're welcome. :D
This is absolutely amazing thanks for sharing this with us from AZ really wanna visit there some day
Thank you for watching. Visiting this place was like a dream come true for me. I hope they never tear it down
@@TruDroneVideos me too!
Nice filming. I love The Office.
Thank you very much for watching. I love that show, too
This is brilliant
Thanks for watching, souradeep. I've enjoyed your music. Do you have any copyright free stuff? I'm always on the look out for music that I can use in my projects
I live in New Zealand so I would give anything to visit this site :') so much nostalgia
If you ever visit LA, you should check it out. It was really awesome to be there
Great drone footage for the office.
Thanks for watching
The shots are amazing though I’m not familiar with the office. I feel like I’m still a tadpole when this show aired 😅. But it’s nice to see the actual location. After seeing you video, I’m kinda thinking of checking out this show. I mean, I’ve seen the memes from this show so I bet it’s gonna be great when I watch it😊
Thanks for checking us out. I would definitely recommend watching The Office. It takes some getting used to, and the first season is not their best. But the show is critically acclaimed
This was epic! Big fan of the office over here in the UK but feel the American version might be better... looks like you’ve got some great content on this channel so I’ll definitely be watching more!
- Nick
Thanks for your support, Nick. I've also seen the UK version and prefer the US one
Our version is the most well known because the British version only was aired in its home country whereas the American adaption was shown worldwide
Very nice drone footage... DJI drone is very good for drone video
Thanks, James. Yeah, DJI's got good consumer and professional drones
Nice shots! My sis is a fan of the office too.
No surprise there ahhahah. The Office was the most streamed show again in 2020. Thank you very much for checking us out
Great flight 👍
Thank you very much for watching
I wanna cry 😔
is it your skills or your high end drone that makes this look so damn professional, great video mate
It's definitely the drone hahha. Thanks for watching
Hurts to know that this building no longer looks like it did in The Office, as of Feb 2022, a company called “Quixote Studios” took over the Chandler Studios building & sadly…. repainted it all completely white.
What? Really? Dang. I think we'll have to go back and take another look
Seeing it without people or parked cars around makes me sad. It looks lonely. :(
It was an absolutely bittersweet experience
Good stuff.
Thanks for stopping by, Michael. Hope you've been well
BRING THE OFFICE BACK TO NETFLIX!!!! Great video, one of my favorite shows
They definitely tried to keep it, but NBC wanted it for their own streaming service. Bummer. Thanks for watching
@@TruDroneVideos it's just came on Netflix in the uk
@@lukemathie4513 Oh really? The US version?
@@TruDroneVideos yeah I think both versions are on Netflix
nicely done
Thanks, friend
I was passing thru Scranton and and pulled off to see where the building was and to find out its in cali lmao
With Breaking Bad this is My BEST TV SHOW EVER. Steve Carell is like a father to me. Can't believe he's never won an Emmy...
Its a shame of how rundown the place looks nowadays. Do a drone shot of the season 1 filming location in Culver city! I can provide the street if you are looking to do some shots over there!
Unfortunately, the original building is located just inside of a no-fly zone due its proximity to an airport
@Tru Drone Videos Aw darn, anyways I have a Google Drive folder with a lot of photos and floor plans. Check it out! drive.google.com/drive/folders/16Zli8zB8d54o12NTCEgPL8hJ5MDSy8eX
@Tru Drone Videos Actually, if you can't fly I would still love to see some shots of the building (non-drone). I hope to visit it someday but I want to see the state of the building (if it's been renovated or changed at all). I hope its not a big thing to do but it would be so cool if you could.
@Xtr4 Those are awesome!! I want to walk into there so bad. It's cool because its most likely still intact compared to the set they used seasons 2-9.
@@jimhalpert4903 I'll look into it. Thanks for your comment, Big Tuna
That is our building, and we sell paper 🥲
Is that you, Kevin?
Good vid!
Thank you very much, Vicat. It was a very bittersweet experience
@@TruDroneVideos It was for me as well. I'm dying to make it out there and see it for myself. I feel like that place holds so many memories, even though I've never been out there.
@@themauriciobunch2442 I felt the exact same way. Had never been there before, but felt like I had worked there for years
Emocionante.
Fue muy emocionante visitarlo
Omg The Office lives on and I own it both on iTunes and dvd but why is this making me sad and miss it! I am gonna visit it one day but how you edited it so beautifully makes me feel like I’m watching someone’s memorial!
Thanks Anthony. This was a pretty difficult one to make. I kept getting emotional hhahaha
Totally agree. This video really played with my emotions. I guess grown men do cry
@@rfltrjlll right?!! I guess so!
Wow
Thanks for watching
i hope one day i will be there
You should try coming sooner rather than later. Buildings often get demolished or remodeled in LA. Where are you now?
@@TruDroneVideos i am in turkey actually 😬😬
Im struggling to keep watching The Office. I miss Michael so much
Lol I just think about the people watching this drone flying around the building just because.
If Dunder Miffin was real I would work here in a heartbeat
Woah, Walt and Jesse's office too?!?!? 0:27
I wish. There are a bunch of those on that street. Homeless people live there
This kinda makes me sad! The empty dunder mifflin! Hahaha 😝 it must be just a weekend right? I feel like Dwight will come out and yell at the drone if this was shoot on a weekday hahahah
Dwight might try to shoot it down with his paintball gun or his ninja stars
Fuck man so many memories
Tell me about it
@@TruDroneVideos I was in the crew. The speed machine was there for legit reasons and not for the show. The cast later used this and it was a impromptu add to episode
I can’t be the only one to see the Breaking Bad RV at 3:33
There are a lot of RVs on this street (and along many other streets in LA). Homeless people live in them
There needs to be a Five Nights at Dunder Mifflin survival game.
That would be cool 😎
@@TruDroneVideos Mose can be the secret character lol.
Good
👍
👏👏👏🤘😘
🤘🤘
Great video, friend. Did you use the trio of drones again?
Sure did. MA2, M2P, MM2
I could've sworn the building was a story or two taller.
It does look taller in person too. The drone perspective makes it appear a bit smaller
i notice the barred gate is now solid. Guess they got tired of Office fans visiting.
@@Rhomega It's still the same barred gate, but they put some kind of cloth or fabric on it
The dunder mifflin office was fillmed at soundstage right next to Valley Studios
Yes, though it was all Chandler Valley Studios. Just a different stage. Both stages are all white now after being bought by Quixote in 2022. Its sad to see how plain it looks now.
I need to find the actual office building it was filmed in 😂
From season 1? You can. It still exists, but it seems that some construction has taken place there
This wasn’t a show this all happened there they were real people don’t argue with me
You got it, boss
3:14 I think you can see Dwight red car on google street version 2011
I'm a little upset that the building is not a paper company.
I was trying to find the hatch on the roof where they got up on the roof from when the drone was going through the roof.
You can see it at 1:45
How about the scenes where they look out the window shot?
If they filmed it mostly in LA, did they have to go back to Scranton to film the parking lot scenes?
The building's parking lot is in LA too
This is really cool! Do you sell any of the footage?
You're free to use any of the aerial footage from our youtube videos
Just saw this! I’m wondering if I could get in touch with you? I tried to find your email, but it wasn’t listed. Can you shoot me an email: mulverinefilms@gmail.com?
@@Mulverine I just saw this comment for the first time. Sorry for the late reply. Our email is listed in the "About" section on our channel
what was the building used for
I wish I I could work there 😫
Yeah, me too. How awesome would that be?!
@@TruDroneVideos Would Be fun than a normal job
WHO is also Here after finishing the Office 😄😅
Me
I can't identify a difference between indoor shots from season 1 and the others
cool, but why is the Breaking Bad RV there?? XD
This street is currently lined with homeless people. Some of them live in RVs
I wonder if the owner knows how much money he/she could make allowing tours to go through.
It's a functioning studio, so they're making plenty of money. They could definitely make tons by allowing people to see it up close, maybe on the weekends
Tall wall and a gate, no problem with a drone i guess.
Have you been out there?
I WILL REMEMBER YOU! WILL YOU REMEMBER ME?
Sure 👍
