    Thanks for the one year review. I ordered one on June 18th. The price is right and the reviews have been solid. Be wary of the lead time. He tells you it’s long. It is. Been 13 weeks and I’m still waiting. That said good for him and it’s great to see lesser brands get business. I’ll be excited when it arrives:)

      You will not be disappointed! I almost listed lead time as a con, but he makes an excellent product and if you can wait, it’s well worth it.
      Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy the holster when it comes in!

      @@RangeDay Thank you for the reply I really appreciate it. For the money it seems the best deal out there. And if he’s doing it solo good for him. I’ll gladly wait for an awesome product at the best price and to support a small Biz. Have a great day!

      Ordered mine when it said 8 weeks to get delivered and received it in the mail after 3.5 weeks! They push it back with long lead times in case delays happen. Pretty quick though. Expected mine originally mid December but yet here we are!

    Just got this holster (exact same setup as you… holster, P365XL with Olight and Romeo zero) and I am surprised that the area around the trigger is not fully enclosed. I can look straight in and see the trigger itself. Though I cannot get a finger in to pull it, that may not stop something smaller from somehow getting into that space and messing with the trigger. I’ve seen many holster reviews where they say if it is not fully enclosed, where you can see the trigger, it technically fails as a reliable holster. Not sure I should use this holster or stick with my Tier 1 Concealed holster. Great video!

      Excellent point! I know most of the time light baring holsters have more of a gap due to accommodations or the light.
      Is your T1C light compatible? If so does it hug the trigger guard better than the McKinatec?
      Appreciate the comment!

    • @Awzzie
      @Awzzie 2 года назад +1

      @@RangeDay My T1C holster is not light compatible as they don’t have holsters for this setup. I’d have to take off the TacDev rail and light to use that and the trigger is fully enclosed. I have been carrying my McKinatec holster for about a week now and it is very comfortable. I adjusted the light to be as close to the trigger guard as possible and it made the trigger not as accessible… which is nice. Thanks for the reply!

    Shopping for my first EDC setup and after checking out the T1 review, this one appeals to me because of the greater range of customization and price but, the spare mag seems to sit way higher on this one. On other videos I heard that more often the mag corner is the most uncomfortable spot on the iwac setup. What are your thoughts on that?
    Also, it would be great if you and your buddy switched holsters/guns for a month or two and then both of you would do the comparison review of the other holster

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +3

      McKinatec puts out a high quality holster for sure, but you bring up a good point about that magazine.
      I don’t believe that you have an option to lower the spare mag carrier when you carry a magazine with an extension with McKinatec. Tier 1 gives you that option to lower that carrier so that a mag extension doesn’t dig into you as much.
      I carry the 15 rounder as my backup, and it is definitely raised some, but it doesn’t bother me too much. There are only certain times it digs into me to where I can notice.
      I really like your idea on reviewing carry setups. That’s something we may have to try at a Range Day.

    Great video and review! I’m looking to buy this exact set up, but my current appendix holsters (separate holster + spare mag in the front), have a wedge at the bottom back. So I’m wondering if I will miss that? Although I could always add one later with Velcro . The second question is I’ve noticed this holster and the T1 varieties cant the base of the spare mag outward. Do you have any issues with printing of that spare mag base plate? And thirdly, just wondering if you have ever used a holster that had a Sidecar option where the mag stood straight up and if you had a preference one way or the other? Thanks!!

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +2

      It’s a great setup. The good news is, if you buy it and figure out you miss the wedge, you can always add a new one like the Tier 1 Wide Wedge and it will help on the firearm and the mag.
      Personally on the cant of the magazine I like the outward cant quite a bit. Helps when going to reload just since that mag is at a little bit lower angle and easy to grab. I’ve never had any issues with the mag printing but I also have a wedge on my kit as well.
      I used to run a sidecar before the McKinatec and I didn’t have any issues with it either. Personal preference for me would probably be the lower angle personally.
      Hope this helps!

    Which rail adapter are you using, XL Tactical, Recover Tactical or another?
    Does the holster only grab the light? I've seen some that say there is no retention if the light is removed.

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +2

      That is the Tactical Development Adapter for the P365 XL!
      And yes you are correct. The holster does grab the light. So if you take the light off, it will not retain.
      Most holsters are this way since the light is much wider than the trigger guard, so you have to make the holster wider to be able to properly stow the firearm. The trigger guard is still protected, however the holster is not molded directly to it due to the light having to travel through that space.

    I picked up one on eBay. My 15rd 365xl mag is super loose, I tightened it down all the way.
    Do you think I need to bust out the heat gun? Or is there a better fix?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  Год назад

      If you’ve went through all the tightening I figured it would have gripped down. I can’t say one way or another if heat gun is the solution, but it is a way to reform Kydex. Just be wary that a little heat goes a long way.

    Does that pistol grip rub your belly?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 года назад +1

      It definitely does, but it’s not too bad. If it’s a really long day it can get annoying, but easily doable.
      I would highly recommend the Talon Pro grips though. Makes the pistol grip much better compared to sandpaper, and it gives more grip than the regular grip module.
