OH MY! I spent 2 hours creating a color chart of dots and images for 16 variations lining them up. This is going to save me so much time. Thank you.
Great tips - your videos are always so good! Thanks!
This was so very helpful! When you were explaining (opening up a can of worms), I could totally relate! Thank you
Yes, I have spent hours trying to align everything manually. This video was so helpful. Thank you.

These are great tips, Julie! Thank you so much for sharing them!!
thanks for watching, Jennifer! I hope it gives you a quick win next time you're in Canva.
Thank you Julie. It's been so frustrating trying to space elements correctly. You explained the procedure so well and I am very grateful.
Wow, this is extremely helpful. Thanks. I will keep practicing the twinks. Highlighting is very key in design. It makes the work look neat and professional.

you're so welcome!
ME TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yes!. Thanks btw
Thanks
Just saved time! Although, I came here to try and figure out how to choose an element or picture that is further back. Canva will only let me edit the top element if the bottom one is also covered. Could you do a video on that?
No video needed, Scott: just hold down Control (or Command on a Mac, I suspect) and click on the top element. It will cycle between the different layers so you can select the one you want! Does that help?
Thanks for sharing this hack - very helpful 👌 Can I ask how I do when I need a bullets list where some of the bullet points are 1 line and some are 2 lines - AND I want to be for instance 1.8 line height between each bullet point but shorter line height (for instance 1.2) between the two lines in the bullet points that are consisting of 2 lines? I know I can do it by creating a new text frame for each bullet point but it would be easier if I cut just press return for each new bullet point and still have it looking easy to read - like your bullet list here? Thanks a lot in advance ;-)
Helpful! What does the 'tidy up' option do in position? Could it have shortened this process?
Hi! I've found that the "tidy up" option attempts to guess what you want to do...but doesn't always get it right. It might think, for instance, that you want things all in one row, when you really want an array of rows and columns. So I try it sometimes but often have to undo and do more specific alignment. Give it a try but don't count on it always being as smart as you are ;-)

I wish I had seen this ages ago.
When typing ebook how do I keep text properly aligned and spaced?
Yes, guilty!! Ohh and I love keyboard shortcuts, too!
It's amazing how excited we can get by opportunities to save 5 seconds, right?! But feeling like a ninja is so fun!
Yes maaaa
Hiii, how does one align by the size of an element, like the website icon, phone icon etc email icon etc
How do we make those the same size?
And yes I’ve been trying to adjust way to long 😩
Tysm !!!
Can someone please help me. Lets say I have uploaded a blue t shirt and a red t shirt. I want to add an image of a dog on the front of both. Easy to do. My problem is if I want to put these two t shirts on a website to sell, I need the placement of the dog image to be in the exact same place on both images for a cohesive look. How do I do this? Sorry for the long explanation.
How about aligning on multiple pages? Like say you have an element that is the same on a multipage document and you want each to be in the same spot of each page... is there a way to do that? But not every element only a single element on each page. Thanks!
A couple things come to mind. For one thing, if you copy the element and then paste it on a new page, it will automatically go in the exact same spot, so that helps! Also, you can always see how something is positioned by selecting the element, holding down the ALT key, and moving your mouse off of it. Lines with numbers will appear to show you how many pixels there are between the element and other elements, the edge of the page, etc. That can help you identify if you need to move something.
How do you make them all the same size for labels.. Thanks in advance
Hi! Are you talking about text blocks in Canva? If so, there are a few options. You can make one, create it in the size you want, and duplicate it for the rest. You can create multiple in one size, and resize them all by selecting them all and resizing all together. Or, you can always take one that you like the size of, click the paintbrush icon to copy its formatting, and click others to copy the formatting (including font size) over to others.
@@sparkhubapp thank you soo much for responding.. Well I'm new to Canva and i made my own spice jar labels on letter size paper with an uploaded border. I wanted them to be 1 1/2"w by 2"h and I have the free version so I wasn't sure how to resize all the labels at the same time instead of individually.. I did make one then copy paste for rest but the sizes changed depending on texts. I think the uploaded border was part of the issue... It was a challenge!!🤕🤦.. But i thank you for this additional information!!🙏💕
Thank you! You grouped the check graphics and the text boxes and have three groups. Now lets say you group those three groups... Now you have one group with three groups inside. How can I ungroup the one group without ungrouping the three inner groups? I hope that makes sense.
Hi! If you group groups together, I don't know of a way to ungroup while still keeping the original groups intact. However, you can still highlight the groups together (not grouping), and perform actions on them. So if your goal is to, say, rotate them, or resize them, or copy/paste, you can do that without additional grouping. See if highlighting will help you achieve what you need!
@@sparkhubapp Thank you for responding!
why to align test nicely left and right pls
Actually i have two lines of multiple squares grouped vertically and it has not space, that's okay but these multiple small squares lines are not getting merged with each other horizontally, and there is gap between them, which is not required. Actually I want to create pixel art, so can you help me with this gap problem?
Thanks in advance.
Hi! I'm not sure I can follow. Are you saying there are elements that you want to leave out of your realignment?
This is all in Free version, correct?
Yes!! ❤️
I still cant do it, do not know why but i can allign bullet points but my bullet points and text are not alligned to each other. :(
Hmm, I wonder if the problem is the justification of the text in your text box. When you click on the text, you should see above it the option to make the text justified left, center, right, etc. Click through that to make sure it's justified left, because I suspect you have it centered in the text box, which always looks funky since the bullet points all align left even if the text doesn't!
@@sparkhubapp Yes i sorted it out, Thanks alot
My word are actually running off the page almost. Its only on one page that its doing this and I am going crazy trying to fix it without making the text smaller. ugh
Hi! Is it an issue of the text expanding bigger when viewed on certain devices? Can you split into two pages instead?
