As a New Yorker, this feels really special and I teared up when Crazy Legs talked about the Olympics and how far breaking has come. It's been such a treat to see these skits hand-picked for the guest hosts. I loved hearing about this history and wouldn't ordinarily expect to see this on TDS. The food looked so delicious and felt familiar. I wish both the dancing and the conversation had gone on longer. It felt bittersweet due to the length but also so valuable.
subjective events shouldn't be in olympics. we already have problems with gymnastics and skating
@@diskoeric2248 It's only "subjective" when clear judging points aren't laid out.
@@FunkyChi1d subjective as in the judges make the decisions.
@@diskoeric2248 I understand "subjectivity." However, if everyone (judges, athletes, etc.) knows the judging criteria, then the "decisions" can't be subjective.
@@FunkyChi1d except when McKayla was robbed of Vault gold. Or do you remember the big ice skating scandal with Canada?
As a 43 year old boxer still training and trying to keep up with the youngins, I feel that ambulance comment deep in my old, old soul.
😂
Oh so you calling me old at 45, I'm offended sir!😂😂😂😂 Naw i feel i feel it too. Now let go and rub my joints with this liniment here!
it's great that Crazy Legs is raising awareness about the Olympic team financial obligations. This should not be an issue.
I didn't know it was an Olympic sport, guess more awareness needed
@@sumnersvensson7237 for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Break Dancing will make its debut.
The justification as to why the IOC is bringing "Break Dancing" is that it's a spinoff of floor gymnastics, which has been an Olympic staple for decades.
He's. Perve ! Sending dicl pics to chick's and not giving credit to TBB who actually Like batch and shark and jimmy dee
The olympics are corrupt and pandering to autocrats and dictators on the reg. It's a testament to breakers own commitment that they have achieved any recognition in that environment, I'm not surprised about cashflow.
I knew John was a top tier actor but he is killing it as a host. Make him permanent, please
I second that!!
Agree!
I third!!!
Did great, but not my top pick
AGREEEEEEEEEEEED...!!!!
It’s so cool watching John L get more relaxed and better at interviewing- and choose super interesting topics- through the course of the week.
TBH thought he hit the ground running, dude is a total pro, totally natural and authentic behind the camera. If he was the permanent host I'd be all in, he set the bar
Enjoying Leguizamo’s week immensely
I met crazy legs at a rave like 20 years ago and he was just the most charismatic and down to earth people I’ve ever met. I mean he really shows his passion for his people and he really spreads the love of breaking in dancing in such an amazing way😊
So impressed with JL’s contribution to the Daily Show. Makes me feel proud to be Latino and I’m a South African. 🇿🇦😂
🤣😂🙌
They should make John a regular..he's brilliant
😁
😅
😅🤣🤣🤣!!! One love for real though 💛!!!
I love how John Leguizamo does what everyone else does AND provides perspectives that no other late show does.
Yes he’s very skilled in the art of lying. For years this guy was claiming he was Puerto Rican and then we found out he had no Puerto Rican parents.😳😳
@@hmenef seriously? Never heard that? Idk why? Colombia is a beautiful country! 🇨🇴🇨🇴
I was a Breaker for more than 10 years with the crew Tha Nxt Level in my early life in NY and then some in FL and had been to Summit in CA, Rocksteady reunion in NY and the Pro-am in FL, met Crazy Legs danced with tons on crews and met some amazing people from all around the world where the only language we all understood was respect for the music and the dance. Ahhhh.....miss the old days.
Man you went to some dope jams. I only went to the freestyle sessions I was young and broke to travel. Ny would of been a dream to visit.
I quit before my crew went to the big New York international contest, I believe it was in 1985, were you there?
@@roskar bit before my time, I didn't start b-buying til 98
WATCH HIS STANDUP!!! It’s an awesome blend of pure storytelling / drama and hilarious comedy. The older I get the more I cherish each of his specials.
Probably wasn't kidding about the ambulance on standby.
That was pretty impressive considering their age.
As a Puerto Rican, I accept you as a Rican and love you #johnleguizamo #boricua 🧡
Maybe it's just me. We woulda had to dance tomorrow cuz there's no way I'm walking away from that table of goodies 🤣🤣
So remember watchn crazy legs as a kid. Props to these guys for gettn down. I think I wretched my back & tore my acl just from watchn 😂
That meal looks delish!
It's awesome that breaking is now an Olympic sport!
Absolutely love this bringing more awareness to breaking being at the Olympics and what the dancers need to be supported. Great idea for a feature. Thank you!
It's cool to see John keeping it so real, even eating while talking!
And he’s 62 years old!!!
62 years old and still just as hansdom as EVER!
Ps, I was so convinced JL was Puerto Rican, as a kid we'd call him "our cousin" 😂
He claimed he was too.
He duped us
Can't lie. When they started busting out moves, I feared for their lives 😅
He is so likable, just makes me feel happy watching him. 💕
Loved this episode! Props to John Leguizamo n Crazy Legs....#NYCLegends
Wow, I've seen so many of my favorite comedians take that chair recently, many of whom I would definitely root for to take over, but JL is SPECIAL.. Has them John Stewart qualities.. Very funny, Very Intelligent, and actually cares about people.. I've always loved his work, his Netflix special on educating society Latino history was Amazing.. Would LOVE to see him get the opportunity to be the new permanent host!! 👏👏👏
Yeah you can really tell his heart is in it, not that others aren’t, but it feels like he really has a sense of camaraderie
Im 50 and I still kick it ,got into so many battles at the handball court in Brooklyn.Represent!
Johnny Legs is the king 👑 Would be dope if he got his own show.
He should host this one full-time
He had one
Just me or does he look like he could be Fred Armison’s brother? If he has a show Fred HAS to make a cameo!
He got a new one about Latinos... i think it's on NBC....
Bro John is soooooo under rated , I have all his stand up specials and every time I watch them they still have me dying , this is the only way I'd watch this show 💯 please keep him on
Johnny Legs and Crazy Legs breaking after all that food😄
...it was a fun watching this segment. I am from the boogie dowb, Bronx and had the pleasure of meeting crazy legs and the rock steady crew when my son street danced with the breeze team usa back in the early 90s... those were such fun days ....
All these years, I thought he WAS Puerto Rican! Had to pause the video and look it up. Turns out he's Colombian. Second surprise of the video: Breakin' going to the Olympics in 2024!! Whaaaat!
Makes sense that he’s from queens then
Thank you so much for this.. john you and crazy legs are legends..
Amazing! If I tried some of those moves now, my knees would blow out!
Man once they showed that up close shot of the food, when they first brought it out, I was done. I couldn't focus on anything else. That pernil w da rice!!
The story was great idea! Thanks for sharing :-)😊
"You got information late. You're from Queens..." 😂😂😂
I love the Salsa John is dipping the Daily Show in with his guest appearance.
I fkn love this sketch
You had me at 'alcapurria' 3:42 lol Metele Boricua!
Oh man! Leguizamo taking advantage and giving props to the NYC latino culture! I see you!
Breakdancing comes from black American culture
I'm 55yrs old from Flushing Queens and grew up in the breakdancing era. I had my own crew and we were awesome but RSC was the crew to beat besides NYC Breakers. I loved every moment of that era and wish to go back. Graffiti and breakdancing were my life. I love everything about Crazy Legs. All of Crazy Legs' documentaries should be put into one whole documentary.
John Leguizamo is cool officially
I just learned today that it's supposed to, or at least usually, called breaking rather than break-dancing.
Glad I watched this video!
They are not the historians of hip hop..
I wish I had some of Leguizamo's genes. He's 16 years older than me and I look like his grandpa, his old pale white bald grey gramps.
When I heard a couple years ago that they were adding "Break Dancing" to the IOC, I thought it was due given how it's a spinoff of floor gymnastics.
I know people don't like to think about that relationship between the 2 because of classicism but it's true.
The skills needed just to do a fraction of the moves breakers do with their bodies is on par with gymnastics.
Never get tired of listening and watching you. You are so passionate about any topic you discuss that I can’t stop listening to you. Blessings John.
Doesnt look a day over 35 is right :O John L. is over 60 years old!
I grew up in the Bronx in the 80s n 90s and this was special! Thank you John.
70s and 80s then moved to l.a., til this day I can’t explain it, the atmosphere was very unique, had to be there to really understand
The FOOOOODDDDDD!!!!!
Word, as someone who is going through culinary school to become a chef thats all I was looking at!! I wish they talked more about the food. Im about to bounce to the kitchen and get my chew on. lol. actually JL could start a dope TV show about food.
Did you see the movie they did on the food truck?
I know! I rewatched the clip to see the name of the place. I hope I get a chance to eat there some day
Beautiful culture, represent!
Yes. Hopefully John and crazy goes to the Olympics next year to see the breakdancing
this should be a segment! Send John to the Olympics! Great idea * I mean as a field correspondent, lol not to compete
@@clumsiii that would be dope.
@@Phoenix-nl2ut yaya! Like Tepper but Leguizamo! PS it's you're idea and it's awesome **also not "like" like tepper..just the mic in the field. I really hope the daily show rotation keeps rotating! So many possibilities
How is Crazy Legs not on the US official team as coach, or as a judge at Paris?
@@MishaFoomin same reason why Tony Hawk wasn't a judge or coach for skateboarding in the Tokyo Olympics, because they have other judges for that
Jon is a national treasure!:)
This is from the hip hop archive ❤
70, 80 and 90 !!!
Old school MEMORIES !
Look at the food though! 😍😍😍😍 I'd like that any day
Interviews over a meal is awesome and I'd love to see more
I met Crazy Legs in the early 90's at the peak of house dance and breaking, in a Zulu Nation convention(San Francisco).
My man still had it. A true legend in the culture indeed.
Wow John won that battle congratulations man! Both of y'all did your best even if you weren't like in your Prime I didn't even know John could do that. I just learn more about these hosts more and more every week
I grew up in the 80s and it was a pleasure and a life time full of happiness ,the best memories as a kid ,the 80s was the best decade ,music ,clothes ,sneakers ,cartoons ,toys , 😊
THIS WAS EPIC!!! Next level uncharted territory! Past, present, and future all wrapped up in comedic genius making history!
What a great interview. Don't hear about Crazy legs too often.
Yeah...there's a..uh, reason for that. Do a RUclips or Google search. A lot of cats turned their backs on Legs and RSC. He's a legend for sure but he maybe didn't have the right response to a recent development.
@@Klos1neMN Would you mind posting a link? I did a search but not sure I found what you're talking about. I'm curious.

@@melanielaura111 Legs was accused of sending pics of his nether regions to women at a certain point of time. He did own up to it, he admitted wrongdoing.
Freak was Epic, I did not know Crazy Legs was choreographer, awesome connection.
😂 he got ‘em with the worm comin’ out the gate! 🤣😉
I want to burst into tears of pride seeing John’s success and excellent ambassadorship of my heritage. If he became permanent host, I would watch every single day.
Mr. Leguizamo is KILLING it as a host! I LOVE that he is bringing all these Latinx voices on too!!!!!!!!
That was something i didn't know! Thank you for woking me up!!
Legit interview, real questions, and a sprinkle of comedy while being themselves
I wondered if he was still dancing like he used to... Better him than me! LOL
That Queens slander at 4:15 mark was uncalled for!!! 🤣 QGTM!
Would have love to be there and see this!!
That segment brought back a lot of memories. I used to go to school with rich at JFK high school in The Bronx. Always a cool brother👍🏿
Damm the new host John is the best one.
He said, “biting.” 🤣🤣🤣
Latinos do that very well
John Leguizamo is a Great Host for the Daily Show!!
😂😂🤣🤩😍🥳
I'm watching all Jhon's episodes 😂 🤣he's so funny!!!
He's Just perfect for this job!!😎👍👌😃
I`d love to be that agile when I am in my 60s. That was impressive.
I loved this so much!!! Too funny! Wish you could share even more about hip hop dance.
Yooooo! Im lifted by this! Big up
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✊🏾👍🏾💪🏾✌🏾 Respect brother gods. Support this brother.
Thanks for giving a name to the dance I've loved for so long!
Yo as a person from Indiana, thanks for representing the generation.
John L is a person true authenticity that you typically to see at this point in their careers
Yes ! The Bronx!
Graffiti on the trains, Beat Street , breaking, Krush Groove.
Breakin’, Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo. Chaka Khan. Laying out the cardboard in the parking lot/driveway to break on. Those were the days.
Brings back a lot of great memories for me. Great segment.
Loved this interview! Can we get John as a regular special correspondent to do more pieces like this?
Whoah! We need this every week! :-) John and Crazy Legs eating and breaking! ;-)

Yessss Leguizamo for Daily Show host!!
Loved every bit of this episode! 😊
I love this and the alcapurrias😍🙌
"I was cast as a Puerto Rican by Hollywood" well played parce...well played. 😅
Rock Steady Crew...I had a crush on Baby Love.
Growing up during this era this was entertaining for me! 👍 Wow Crazy Legs still can move! 👏👏
Yoooooo this was the best. I love it 😊😊😊😂😂😂❤❤❤
I truly enjoyed this video.
My introduction to Crazy Legs was from Def Jam Fight for NY and from there started learning about the Rocksteady Crew. Such a legendary figure and crew ❤
Love seeing my culture represented. Puerto Rico deserves more representation! Luis Guzman and Jenna Ortega had amazing roles on Wednesday. Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro are worldwide. We bring high quality entertainment and our people still suffer as second class citizens on our beloved island. Viva la isla del encanto. Puerto Rico esta bien cabron!
Word up!!! 💪😎
My friends that are Puerto Rican are some of the funniest, most loyal and special people I’ve ever met. They always just wanna bring joy to everything and it feels like life is a celebration all the time around them. I’m so blessed to have been introduced to the culture because it’s a beautiful one. You’re all so spicy and I love it. 💜💜💜
Breaking ain't yall Culture. It's Black American Culture that yall copied. Bad Bunny...lol..be serious
Break dancing ain’t Puerto Rican culture, it came from Black American culture. Salsa is your culture.
This segment shows that John would do a great job hosting any show.
Holy 💩 he was born in 1960! Dayum dude found the fountain of youth!
I knew Crazy Legs’ cousin back in PR. We used to make fun of him for his thick Newyorican accent but the kid could also breakdance like a madman.
Amazing show style and presentation. Different and real authentic.
I remember crazy would practice at my grandparents house on Burnside.
