With the end of the year bonus, spades are aquired and used immediately for terraforming. They don't carry over into next turn. Just incase that want addressed yet.
Stgdemon There's a note in the video made by Richard close to that time stamp that says: "Apparently I wouldn't get those points because the shovel action carries over, but not the point earning options, weirdly... Thus spake the rules lawyers :)" Is this the goof you are talking about or is it something different than this... Sorry to be asking but I don't know the rules to this one :s
Paulo Renato Each round (don't know why he's calling it years) has 3 phases: 1: Income phase = gather all incomes 2: Play phase = players do actions until all have passed. 3: End of round = divide extra's earned with cult score. Those spades are to be done immediately and they belong into the 2nd round.
Hey Rahdo! Didn't put me to sleep at all! That last 'grinding' bit, was a really good sneak peek at what is really involved. It almost reminded me a bit of mage knight where you stop and look at your cards for ages to figure out what combination of gems, actions, powered actions, sideways cards and units will let you take down a monster in the most efficient way.
Noticed an error that there were no annotations for. Around the 30 minute mark while collecting your start of turn income, you forgot to gain 4 power for your Wind Favor Tile. Otherwise, an awesome look at this game. Time to add it to my list of games to pick up.
I find it interesting how this game uses the same types of building as in Settler's of Catan. The Trading Posts and Dwellings are the same type of building as the City's and Settlements. I really like how you talk through the game!
@Rahdo 16:08: You won't score the bonus point AND you don't increase spades number with any other actions (because this is the III. phase) AND you don't build any houses!
it was already noted in the klingon subtitles... when you watch a video from Rahdo, always turn on the Klingon subtitles because the goofs that he makes will be noted on your screen so that the viewer knows that a mistake was made
Just purchased this game and watched this video to help learn the game, so thanks. A question I didn't see a note for. At 27:22 wasn't Jen supposed to get one point for her dwelling when passing with the bonus card? Great play through btw.
Are you sure that burning power allows you to recycle faster? Actually, you need the same number of recycling movements to move a disk of power from the bottom pool to the top (two movements). The only difference is that you have less maximum power
nope, the fewer discs you've got in the bowls, the faster the whole thing moves. every power your earn during player lets you move 1 disc. the fewers discs you have, the faster you can empty 1 bowl into another :)
***** Miguel is right. With all 12 power in your bowls, you could choose to keep cycling through and spending the same 4 tokens - exactly as if you had thrown away 8 of your starting power. But if you don't burn the tokens, then they're available to you to build up to 12 tokens in bowl 3, allowing you to go on a spending spree, and then it would take longer to build up. But you don't have to go on a spending spree, you could buy one thing then cycle those same tokens through, and it would be exactly as if the other tokens weren't there.
Cole Cohen okay, I see your point. well, what I meant to say then was that the more you burn your power, you can get to power actions more often, but not quite as strong. as you say, yes, you can spend more time building up for "spending sprees" as you put it, but it will take you longer to get there. in the end, the same amount of power is cycles through the bowls, it's just a question of do you want more frequent smaller ones, or slower to build big ones :)
+rahdo , but if you still had every power token available to you, you would still be able to just have frequent small spending sprees, by spending and cycling, say, 4 tokens, and keeping the rest sitting in bowl 3.
Cole Cohen Well then what's the point of letting it sit there and do nothing if you use only 4 out of 12 all the time? Then it will be just like you're having 4 tokens only. I guess it boils down to personal style and preference, and heavily dependent on how desperate you are for power at that moment in time. Sometimes a sacrifice now can be worthwhile if that move helps you gain more in the long run.
Timestamp please... also have you turned on the Klingon subtitles to see if that goof was already noted? I ask because this is a video with almost 6 years, I'd assume that every goof would already be covered by others watching the video on 26354 views :) Thanks

I think it’s so sweet that he’s genuinely concerned for Jenn there at the end, even though the real Jenn isn’t actually playing 😂❤️

That intro was Terra-ble. Hahaha. Good video though. Really appreciate you doing this.
Shouldn't she get power at 19:20?

Do you have the same problem with the words "orange" and "green" that I do? I always mix them up for some reason.
i mix up ALL the words! :)
I have this same problem. I see the colors just fine (my dad is color blind), but I will sometimes mix up the two names, Weird.
You missed giving 4 power to jen on invome phase

When you upgraded to your first trade house you didn't give jen the chancs to gain power...
