She does have some parks in LA in memory of her and her foundation I believe is still running which is for domestic violence/abuse for women which is something she went through in her earlier life Jenni Rivera to some was a huge role model because she beat all Ods and overcame every obstacle she faced as singer and single mother of 5
And, about the song, what it basically says, is that she's gonna get drunk with her "Chuperamigos", Who are alcoholic drinks, "Don Pedro", "José Cuervo", "El presidente", "El patrón", "Buckhannans", "Don Julio", "El jimador", "Los Cazadores", "Los corazones", "Sauza", "Hornitos", & "Herradura". She didn't sing the song completely in that video, it has another verse.
Jenni Rivera...man what a beautiful woman...gone too soon. Known for being rebellious. Her life was full of tragedies but she always had her head up high. She became famous for simply trying to survive and support her 5 kids. but ended up becoming one of the best selling regional mexican artist of all time. still always remained humble tho. people hated her too cause they wanted her to act more of a women and not do things a man would do but of course Jenni wouldnt give a fuck and does what she want. lol. Her life ended really bad and her final concert is actually recorded all in HD. she was JUST about to cross over into the english market like Selena. ruclips.net/video/wOLtKs_IxDg/видео.html
Her story is this.. born and raised in Long Beach. She got pregnant at a young age, moved with her then husband who would abuse her. Eventually sexually abusing her 2 daughters and younger sister. While she was with him, she would sing. He would tell her she was a nobody and nothing would become of her. She left him obviously, he was sent to prison. She became a megastar after recording an album for her dad as a gift as he was always wanting her to sing but she never wanted to. She became one of the biggest regional music singers ever! In a male dominated genre, she killed it! Selling out the staples center back to back, becoming the ONLY regional singer to ever sell out the staples center. Fast forward after years of success, she was in Monterrey NL Mexico. After a sold out concert of over 17,000, just hours after, she was on a plane with her entourage going to a different city in Mexico to perform at another concert when her plane crashed. There truly will never be another one like her. The way she sang with such emotion to every song she would perform. I miss her dearly. Rip my diva 1969-forever. As this song goes though. She basically says since she’s not with her ex any more she’s going to celebrate. She starts naming the liquors she will be drinking but explains it in a sexual manner.
Addressing your question about banda music, I believe the banda genera started in the early 1900. If I'm not mistaken Banda El Recodo was founder around that time. Again if I'm not mistaken that was more or less around the time the big band was popular in the U.S.
