Incase's best sleeve is ICON with Woolenex, it doesn't have a zipper, but opens and closes magnetically. You slide the laptop in and it fits in there snugly. Also the sleeve's edges have a sturdy bumper that offers awesome shock protection. My favorite sleeve so far. Previously I had dbramante1928's leather sleeve, which was really nice as well, but I gave that to the wife.
Yes, especially since no zippers are allowed on a computer bag if u want to keep your computer in it. So sleeves are a perfect solution to take through tsa.
Since Tom asked for our favorite laptop sleeve(s), I’ll use that as an excuse to recommend another video kinda like this one for you to do: when sleeves for laptops are discussed, soft goods are usually assumed. “Hard” cases are not usually included in the comparison. But my favorite is a Thule hard-shell case, which is sized for my 13” MacBook Air (or Pro). It means that I don’t have to worry about whether the compartment of a backpack/briefcase/sling bag is adequately padded all the way around, suspended from the bottom/off the ground, and so forth. I just need to ensure the compartment is roomy enough to accommodate the laptop within this hard case. So could we get a nice comparison vid like this one for various hard-shell cases?
Ooh! I've been interested in sleeves recently so this is excellent timing. Thanks for the earlier recommendations, currently rocking a Bellroy sling and loving it.
Think Tank has a nice one called Artificial Intelligence for smaller laptops. Comes in a fairly generic looking design if you don’t want the attention albeit it’s also not the nicest looking bag. Has a front pocket with organisational slots and a bit of expandability. Also has a good top handle
Hi Tony! That's the Rolling Square EDGE. I'll drop a link below. Thanks for the comment! - Austin packhacker.com/travel-gear/rolling-square/edge-full-kit/
I'm looking for a laptop sleeve to use in a daypack that has no protection for a laptop. What would you recommend for a 15 inch Dell Precision laptop? If it has storage for a mouse or charger when not in the backpack, that would be great also. Thanks, Mike
Is there no option where a laptop stays in a hard enclosure so that no matter how much pressure is put on the outside, the lid doesn’t press against the body too much?
Hey Solina! We've reviewed a couple of their bags already, but I'll add them to the list for content consideration for you. Thanks for the support! - Austin packhacker.com/travel-gear/sandqvist/
Hi there, i really want to travel the work and work alongside it. I am 22 yo. And a native german speaker. I love beeing in touch with people. Anyone got a job recommendation for me?
Very nice overview. The Aer Tech Folio is a great sleeve, the 13inch one easily holds MacBook Air and the 12.9 iPad Pro, incl the magic keyboard (with the iPad in the main laptop sleeve) as well as charging cables and other accessories. Built like a tank. Possibility to use with a shoulder strap would be great.
Surprised MOFT sleeve didn't make the list. It's great and protective but also includes some nifty things like a stand by folding it as well as storage inside too.
Good, shout, Daniel! It's always tough to decide which brands to include in these roundups, but that's why we love hearing from the community 🙂 - Austin

no laptop sleeve should have zippers or button closures on them as they will scratch and dent your laptop
What is that silver disk and pill shape stuck on the laptop lid? Magnetic mount for external SSD?

what's the thing on top of ur MacBook
That’s the Rolling Square EDGE Full Kit 😃 packhacker.com/travel-gear/rolling-square/edge-full-kit/

Thule Gauntlet ???
how much thicker is the dash sleeve compared to the incase? I really want to buy the dash sleeve, but it looks a bit thick
It is thicker, but most of all, it has a lot more density, so it won’t smush, if that makes sense! 😃

Fjallraven!!???
