Documentary film “Maria Gimbutas - 70” by Vytautas Urbanavičius (1997)

Marija Gimbutas (1921-1994) is one of the most famous Lithuanian archeologist. On her 70th birthday in 1991 Vytautas Urbanavičius made this video to send regards to Marija.
People gathered to talk about Marija Gimbutas:
Regina Volkaitė-Kulikauskienė - one of the first Lithuanian archaeologists, habilitated doctor, - reviews science work and topics of M.Gimbutas;
Ingė Lukšaitė - cultural historian, associate professor, habilitated doctor - presents the manuscript created by M. Gimbutas for Lithuanians;
Gintautas Jurgis Česnys - anthropologist, habilitated doctor of biomedical sciences - talks about the conference, in which he participated together with M. Gimbutas, and assures that Marija is the star of archeology all over the world;
Meilė Lukšienė - cousin of Marija and one of her closest friends, a researcher of Lithuanian literature, pedagogue, educator, habilitated doctor of social sciences - shares her insights on how Marija's personal qualities and hobbies helped her become a famous scientist.
