    Loved this video. Just begun doing macrame and wanted to draw something I had in mind but did not know where to start.
    Would love to see the finished product along with the drawn plan.

    Thank you for the idea of making a macrame diary. I'm just now getting back into the craft, last time I made something from macrame I was 8 or 9 yrs old in the late 1970s. Lol

    Thanks so much, it was great to see your process. I also enjoyed watching it come to life in your next video. For those like me who are watching this later, a link in the description to the next video would be very helpful, I had to hunt for it. Thank you!

    Kathy, I'm following a pattern in a video but have made it wider than on the video. So it fits the space where it will hang.
    How do I need to fix the pattern to a new wider wall hanging without losing the overall beauty?? LOL.... help me please? oh yeah, hehe, I only have 4 days to make it in time for Christmas. EEEK.!

      Hmm, It’s hard to say without seeing the actual pattern, but my biggest advice would be to keep the proportions even. Whatever you add in width, proportionally add that in the length. Good luck! Maybe you could reach out to the creator of this pattern for extra help :)

    I have been through so may tutorials over how to estimate the length of rope needed for projects, and I found yours very friendly and nice. And I watched the video very closely and this is my question. When you count the SKs across, you doubled them for the two triangles and multiplied by 4. How did you come up with 4 ? If you have a tutorial that explains this , please lead me to it.

    • @GrayWonders
      @GrayWonders  3 года назад +1

      So the 30in for the triangles was just a rough estimation of total length of knot tying, and typically I multiply that estimation by 4 to determine how long to cut my ropes. There a few very general guidelines for this. I do have an older tutorial going over this called “how much macrame rope?” 😊

      @@GrayWonders It is very nice of you that you actually replied to my question. I have had many questions to other people like this, but you are the very first person answered. And thank you so much and I will visit your tutorial mentioned.

    I'm confused by your measurements.
    You said 30 ropes cut at 15 feet.
    I'm Australian so that is around 4.5 meters (177inch) for each strand (folded in half means each length will be around 2.25m (88.58inch).
    By this I would assume your design will be huge? What am I missing?

      Eh depends on how you look at it. likely close to 72cm x 172 taller than it is wide. A decent size hanging for certain, but that's if she conservatively knotted otherwise it'll likely be closer to 50cm x 90cm and with the FKs that's the more likely story.

    Why 30x 4? I didn’t understand the 4

    • @GrayWonders
      @GrayWonders  4 года назад +5

      When I calculate how much rope I’m going to need, I typically multiply my estimated final length by 4. So in this video I was estimating I would have 30 inches of knots so I multiplied that number by 4.
