not very similar, I got the frog and the tadpoles go through the plate which is kinda "top mounted" in the top frame, while the tadpole rest on the bottom case. these rubber inserts go through the PCB slots, not the plate, and "gasket" the pcb between the two halves on the case. I'm sure both typing feel and sound vary greatly between the two boards.
I think that they are also very different. I have frog mini, and and qk75. The frog mini is way stiffer than the qk75. If you like really stiff keyboards get the frog, if you like the option for a softer board get the qk80 (also qk is cheaper).

You need to pull the plate up as not all the switches are fully seated.
Check the esc key for reference.
