Just bcs it’s a boom bap beat doesn’t mean it’s dope. real Hip Hop Heads know that the older Joey connected with people’s soul on a different level. But there’s people out here who really pay attention to the craft of Hip Hop. Joey even said himself in an interview once that he started Dumbing Down his lyrics to reach a bigger audience. He tried it with Devastated which was cool but not a classic. There's nothing wrong with staying in the niche you're in. You can't get mainstream attention if you haven't dropped in 5 years no matter who you are. His discography isn't long enough for that.
