Hi Alice! A room divider is definitely a possibility. For someone who values an intimate or private space, it would be higher on the priority list. Assuming that you place the room divider so you can still walk all the way around the bed, that space gets carved out of the rest of the small apartment. Again, not a problem if it's a high priority. The approach I took aimed to make the whole space work as one, something like an extended stay hotel room or an oversized master bedroom. The space to circulate around the bed is shared with the rest of the apartment. And the dining table actually doubles as a lamp stand and bedside table for the bed. If the homeowner were set on having a divider, I would first suggest some kind of material that would still let the spaces communicate, like a sheer curtain or netting. My goal would be to provide some separation but letting the two spaces provide visual depth for each other. It would also let the window light continue to reach the whole space. How does that sound to you?
So helpful!!
Hey Kenzie - glad you liked it. Thanks!
How about a room divider around the bed to make a private area?
