“Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?” My favorite quote! So glad you left it in! And yes, rotties are the cutest puppies, of course I’m a little bias.
I don’t *know* Margot! And “We are standing next to the threshold of hell!” Did you notice the kids actually became famous. The son’s so wealthy now he doesn’t have to work if he doesn’t have to. Dana Baron was my favorite daughter, Ethan Embry my favorite son.
If you noticed the entire family was facing Clark with their backs to us, there's a reason. They were each wearing signs with the dialogue for Clark's tirade. He was reading it off them! 😂
Great reaction like always. I always laugh so hard when i see this movie and that quote "Hallelujah! Holy sh*t! Where's the Tylenol?" Omg its hillarious. There are some fun-facts about this classic. The Griswolds’ neighbor’s house is the same house Murtaugh and his family lived in all the Lethal Weapon movies. The houses on this street are on the Warner Brothers Studios back lot. The house front from Bewitched and The New Gidget appears in the home movie that Clark is watching in the attic. In the scene when the police storm into the Griswolds’ house, the song “Here Comes Santa Claus” sung by Gene Autry is used for the background music. Randy Quaid (cousin Eddie) is the third cousin of Gene Autry. According to Randy Quaid, many of cousin Eddie’s characteristics (most notably the clicking of the tongue) were based off a guy that Quaid knew from when he grew up in Texas years ago who had similar traits. When Clark is in bed trying to read the People Magazine with sticky fingers from the tree sap, the person shown on the cover of the magazine is Producer Matty Simmons. And the scene where the cat bites on the Christmas lights cord and gets electrocuted was nearly cut from the movie. Prior to the first test screening. the studio execs wanted the scene taken out, fearing that it might offend some viewers, but producer Matty Simmons begged them to leave the scene in, and they eventually gave in to his request. After the first test screening, the test audience had scored the cat electrocution scene as the No. 1 favorite scene throughout the entire movie. You need to watch the whole saga Keep up the good work.
I can go through this movie line for line. It is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. Second only to Die Hard which is the best Christmas movie.
1:30 I had to rewind and listen to what you said because I didn’t have my volume up far enough, and I was in the middle of something. It first sounded to me like you that he had a little crack, and I thought, Santa’s a little too fat to be a crack head. 5:31 Jax, people like the neighbors are yuppies, and are often referred to as DINKS, Dual Income No Kids.
9:30 yes is Johnny Galecki from The Big Bang Theory, the late 80s early 90s Roseanne series & The Conners 2018 series. One of the jokes of the National Lampoons Vacation franchise is the recasting of the actors for the children with Galecki being the 3rd actor to play Russ, with actor Ed Helms in the 2015 Vacation movie Playing Russ as a father taking his family on a cross country trip like in the original movie.
Normally I would say you should watch the first Vacation movie, primarily to get a feel for the characters, but if you already saw a later one, that base is kinda covered. Also, you should watch the GotG holiday special, since it's the holidays, and you're not too far off from reacting to GotG volume 3, which is canonically after the special. ✌️😁
The best Christmas movie ever. If you haven't seen it A Christmas Story is really great too. Both are yearly watches for me. If you want a movie about family, may I suggest the Fast and Furious franchise. 5:26 I must be old I recognized Mme Veep as Elaine Benes. Those two are meant to be Yuppies 23:10 "That's what she said" -Michael Scott
Really?!?! I've heard different opinions on whether helps or hinders selling the place. Curious what you think? I've never owned a house. Any regrets putting in?
"i was able to watch vegas vacation, on the way to vegas in the car as a kid" - wow that makes me feel old and im not even 38 yet lol as my dad would say "back in my day the only entertainment we had was books, magazines, music and the nintendo gameboy on a roadtrip - and god help you if you wanted to play the gameboy, you had to walk 40miles uphill in the snow just to get to your brother (cars were bigger in the 90s) and ask if there was any power left in the batteries."
In previous movies? I don't think so but anyone can feel free to correct me. The theme is usually the Griswold's aka The Typical American Family is vacationing somewhere else (Wallyworld, the UK, so on) and are themselves problem where the twist here is the vacation to their home (but they are still there thus the problem is as well). The idea was that it is established that Clark is unlikable jackass thus naturally his neighbors who seem to be a bit bougie are already fed up with him. Kind of outlining that he rubs people the wrong way with his snarky attitude. The first movie was worth it or at least in this vein if you will though the humor would be a bit dated. I can't recall if the European was worth it not. I remember the intro being hilarious fun. What I like about this one is the no nonsense approach versus the typical holiday movie glitter. And subsequent message about expectations. It's a nice break from the norm imo.
This is a must watch every year in my family, for me multiple viewings all month long. My sister has one of those Marty moose cups for drinking egg nog you see cousin Eddie drinking out of
Your parents never taught you that? You see, kid, when a man and a woman love each other very much, they engage in a special "hug." Nine months later, a bird with a large wingspan shows up with a baby in a hobo bindle.
While many like to say it isn't Christmas until Hans Gruber gets thrown off of Nakatomi Plaza (Die Hard), for me however, it just isn't Christmas until Clark Griswold does his epic rant about his boss.
Any film that is presented by National Lampoon is a comedy farce. Literally everything Clark Griswold does is intended to make us laugh or cringe. Nothing should be taken seriously.
yesss CASSIE (popcorn in bed) & her sister has best reaction and believe it or not "Just trust Ash & his brit girl/friend just about sob at various scnes
@@michaelceraso1977 yup. I’ve watched each one probably a dozen times. I’d like to see EOM Reacts do this movie. Movies with Mary has a pretty good reaction as well.
8:22 this was always my favorite scene in the movie, Chevy Chase is a master of the "Freudian slip and backpedal" gag. "It wouldn't be Christmas if the stores were any hooter than they _hotter_ than they are." 😂 (Quoting from memory, may not be verbatim 😅)
This comedy is the third and best episode in the “National Lampoon's” series about the Griswold family. Slapstick and satire elements harmonize magnificently. And situation comedian Chase is in top form. As Jax rightly points out, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ star Johnny Galecki had one of his first roles as son Rusty in this turbulent piece of fun. All the hilarious scenes (Cousin Eddie empties the camper van's toilet into the sewer, the cat “evaporates” under the armchair, etc.) are designed to make you laugh out loud. There's nothing to question. Just enjoy and have a good time...
“There’s a lot of sap in here… Looks GREAT! Little full, lotta sap!” This movie has so many great lines that I quote every year around this time. On of my favorite Christmas movies!
This film always gets me in a Christmas mood, and it's usually one of the first Christmas films I watch every year. I love that it goes through all the Christmas traditions one by one, and that it carries the message that it's okay to get things wrong. We're all just trying our best. Also, the physical comedy is hilarious!
This and home alone are my two favorite Christmas movies to watch. Chris's vacation is one of those films you can relate to with the in-laws. The guy overdoing it with the Christmas lights and a family member trying to do the perfect Christmas for everybody. I mean this is something you can relate to
"It went dark there but with these family members I'd have to..." Yeah. Agreed.
"Hallelujah! Holy sh*t! Where's the Tylenol?" Yep, been there :)
One of the best movie rants ever
SANTA'S REVENGE... When Chevy punched the Santa ornament, he broke a Finger. PROOF that you shouldn't hit anything/anybody during the Holidays!
_National Lampoons Vacation SAGA_
- Vacation (1983)
- National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985)
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
- Vegas Vacation (1997)
- Vacation (2015)
,
Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003) But we don't have talk about that one lol.
There was also a Christmas Vacation 2 which everyone ignores because it's beyond terrible. It was made in 2003 and was a TV movie.
“Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?”
My favorite quote! So glad you left it in! And yes, rotties are the cutest puppies, of course I’m a little bias.
"Don't throw me down, Clark." That woman was the voice of Betty Boop.
Big bang is the son
And Olive Oyl!
Wow. You spotted Johnny Galecki. Yep, that was him playing Rusty.
I don’t *know* Margot!
And
“We are standing next to the threshold of hell!”

Great holiday vibes for sure!!

In one sense, the kids aren't even reoccurring characters.
1:30 I had to rewind and listen to what you said because I didn’t have my volume up far enough, and I was in the middle of something. It first sounded to me like you that he had a little crack, and I thought, Santa’s a little too fat to be a crack head.

What a coincidence! I rewatched it today as well! 💜✨
This movie is the only one franchise that those neighbors appear in
I've watched this movie every year since it was released and NEVER noticed that the pastries went unopened. Good eye!
The turkey neck is usually up inside the turkey with the other inners. They put up there until you clean it out.
Cousin Eddie is peak Randy Quaid.
Clark's a living cartoon character! 😂
How about a Lamby advent calendar?

so great
Fun Fact: Mae Questel (Aunt Bethany), had a prolific career in voice acting. She voiced iconic characters such as Betty Boop and Olive Oyl.
Juliette Lewis Steve Martin & Madeline Kahn : Mixed Nuts ,,,,Great Christmas Movie🎄
I put in an in ground pool 20 years ago and it cost $73,000 at the time
Really?!?! I've heard different opinions on whether helps or hinders selling the place. Curious what you think? I've never owned a house. Any regrets putting in?
Happy Friday 😢😢😢😢
Let’s go Jax
You can find that RV at a place called Castle Noel in Ohio.
"Sometimes, you abduct someone and they give you money" And just like that, the channel took a dark turn...
Snotty the Rottie😀
I actually just watched this for the first time two days ago. Good movie. Not home alone or Grinch but good
I meant this movie is the only one in the franchise that’s what I get using speak to text lol
This one is so funny!!! 😂😂😂😂
"Sh*tter was full !" has been a Christmas Greeting since 1989
Actually saw an RV near my home that had that sticker on the side.
You can get Christmas sweaters with that on it
Moose glass is a callback to the first movie when they visited Wally World.
Hi Jax. You do like see Die Hard, is a christmas movie
No attic?
What's between your ceiling and roof?
Jax, you need to watch Edward Scissorhands next!
Will you be watching Klaus this year? It "teaches" you about the origins of all the Christmas traditions.
My favorite joke that doesn't get enough laughs is when Eddie puts the dog food on top of the light bulbs that Clark just put on top of the cart.
That and when Eddie says that the older one is preparing for his career. College? carnival.
In previous movies? I don't think so but anyone can feel free to correct me. This woman is soo adorable and charismatic, where does she come from ??
Your parents never taught you that? You see, kid, when a man and a woman love each other very much, they engage in a special "hug." Nine months later, a bird with a large wingspan shows up with a baby in a hobo bindle.
@colormedubious4747 what exactly are you trying to say 🤔
If they where better to their cats they wouldn't have a squirrel problem at all.
While many like to say it isn't Christmas until Hans Gruber gets thrown off of Nakatomi Plaza (Die Hard), for me however, it just isn't Christmas until Clark Griswold does his epic rant about his boss.
I just gotta say you have the most enchanting eyes
I agree ❤

Any film that is presented by National Lampoon is a comedy farce. Literally everything Clark Griswold does is intended to make us laugh or cringe. Nothing should be taken seriously.
This and Ernest Saves Christmas are two of my favorites.
He looks familaur because the actor playing Clark boss is Bill Murray's brother.
The actress who played Clark's Aunt Bethany did the voice of Betty Boop
Randy quied brother of Dennis quied
SQUUUIIIRRRRRREL!!!
🎄Great laugh reaction, cool movie and early Merry Christmas to you and lamby 🐑.
Snotz❤
Good movie innerspace 1987 Dennis Quaid
It's not Christmas until we hear the tuba version of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer".
If you haven’t seen it, You MUST do It’s Wonderful Life (1946). It’s the best Christmas movie ever made!

Good catch on Johnny Galecki (think I spelled that right) yeah he’s super young in this one
Jax, you crack me up with your reactions. You start laughing and I start LMAO.
Do "The Night Before" Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Seth Rogan
8:22 this was always my favorite scene in the movie, Chevy Chase is a master of the "Freudian slip and backpedal" gag.

Christmas Vacation is one of the rare third installments that is arguably better than the original
This comedy is the third and best episode in the “National Lampoon's” series about the Griswold family.

"You can't see the lines, can you Russ?"
Nope
Happy Jaxday.
I really hope you do "Scrooged" next. It's Bill Murray at his peak.
Yes, it is Johnny Galecki.
Everybody loves Raymond is the grandmother
Thanks for a great year, and Merry Christmas, Jax!
Merry Christmas Jax 🎅 🎄 😊
Hope you have a great Christmas and your Christmas lighting setup goes better than the Griswald's.
This is a true Christmas ⛄ Classic. OH and Jax the girl doing the reaction is beautiful 😁
the pledge of allegiance moment is one of my favorites! Clark's face is priceless when he switches over to putting his hand on his heart
“There’s a lot of sap in here… Looks GREAT! Little full, lotta sap!”
This movie has so many great lines that I quote every year around this time. On of my favorite Christmas movies!
Always cry with laughter when she starts the Pledge of Allegiance 🤣
Hi Jax 👋👋. Lamby looks adorable in his Santa outfit 😂

Hi Jax. Happy Holidays. Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
(8:23) The scene I remember the most as a sophomore in college. (Oh yeah, the house lighting too...)

Best Christmas movie ever made. I've watched it every year since I first saw it in the early 90s.

This is my absolute favorite christmas movie, that I watch every year with my family. It always manages to crach me up!
My FAVORITE Christmas movie!!!!
