Thanks for the interesting review! She's beautiful indeed, the only drawback to me seems the lack if a cab interior. But I guess it might help to hide the DCC decoder with a piece of black isolation tape. So all in all, a great little locomotive 🚂 🤩
Nice review. I'm considering getting one to repaint for my Irish N-gauge layout, as NCC ran three of them in Northern Ireland. Did you apply the details to the buffer bars?
I have found that with N gauge, give the track a thorough clean, then give the rail heads a good rub with a 9B graphite pencil. The graphite stops dirt accumulating or sticking to the rails and it is conductive. The only disadvantage is that it is a mild dry lubricant, so if your locomotives are struggling to haul trains up the hills, you may not want to try it.
Nice little loco, My Jinty is still not run in yet because I have not got a fully completed loop,,,, but as you say quite weighty for her size she looks as if she will be a good little loco,,,
Fantastic review mate, I adore the jintys and graham farish sure have done a good job of representing one. Might have do do a small n gauge layout just to get it haha
Good review Simon & a lovely little loco that looks brilliant running on your layout, especially with that rake. Also just noticed that slightly damaged looking wagon as part of the scenery as well which I rather liked. Nice to see a slight cameo from Tilly (sp?) as well :) - Sim
Ha ha, well spotted, yes Tilly came to see what I was up to in my (her) shed. Pleased with how that little scrap wagon scene turned out, was really difficult to deliberately destroy a pristine wagon!
Good review Simon :-D I got the same one a few weeks before the big show at ally pally where it ran on Lacey Dale mostly the lower level we got a few questions on this & the New Fairburn tank preformed with out problems and such smooth runners in DCC
Finally a youtuber that only does N gauge, love the Jinty tank even though I'm a GWR modeller
Great Video, just wondering if there is room to add sound.
I bought one of these just the other week at Trainwest. Great little loco

Nice little Loco Simon , one to add to most rakes freight or passenger
Thanks David, yes very useful little engine.
does this model have ball bearings on the axles?

Why are n gauge locos so satisfying to look at when they're held

Lovely little loco there Simon. Great video as usual. All the best from Australia. Regards, Dane (RailwayModellerOz)
Thanks Dane!
Simon you should do a review on what I think is the Landship war train pack
That train is in the countryside coal set aswell
I am trying to find an E2 tank engine, is there one in N gauge? I am trying to recreate Thomas the Tank Engine and others.
Cracking little loco, looked the part running with that goods train. Did it run ok in the other direction on the layout?
Thanks, yes, on the layout it ran fine in both directions...v strange.
Lovely little locomotive Simon, nice update best wishes.....Steve
Thanks Steve.
Nice little loco, My Jinty is still not run in yet because I have not got a fully completed loop,,,, but as you say quite weighty for her size she looks as if she will be a good little loco,,,
Cheers Alan, I think she'll be great after a little more running in, seems to have loads of pulling power.
Is it better to get a single jinty or is it better to get a set with a jinty around about for the same price?
+Millwall Joe may as well get the set and eBay the stuff you don't need!
Thank you. I am starting to build my own layout and I'm really needing tips so this is a good one.
Fantastic review mate, I adore the jintys and graham farish sure have done a good job of representing one. Might have do do a small n gauge layout just to get it haha
Cheers James, they are great little engines, everyone should have a Jinty!
Are you going to finish off the basic DC oval layout with some basic scenery?
Anyway, another great video!
Thanks! I have been meaning to add scenery to that little loop for ages, but never got round to it. Might just keep it to practice new things on.

That is a really cool and detailed loco
I'm looking for a class 08 shunter will I have to convert it to dcc?
Yes there is the Graham Farish 08 but it has no dcc socket. You would have to solder in a dcc chip yourself.
what chip would u recommend I'm using the Bachman ez command?
You can use any dcc chip that fits!
nice vid and have u seen a 5mt in n gauge and are they good because im getting one for 50 pounds
Don't have one myself, but they look rather nice!
Ok thanks
Another good review Simon.
*Thinks* Should I add one to my fleet Mmm
Surely there's some kind of law: everyone should own at least 1 Jinty :)
Great review and run in, very nice loco!! Thank you
Ahhhh it's not a blanking plate !
It is a DC chip ( for use on dc track )
That's why it's there.
Great videos , keep 'em coming .
Thanks, noted re: the dc chip :-)
Beautiful loco. Nice review as well. Enjoyable.
Thanks Rob!

Thanks Mark, any more outings for Lacey Dale coming up?
possibly the Wimbledon show and maybe TINGs in 2015 hopefully
nice looking loco
Thanks.
im looking at getting one
