Nostalgiagasm! I played the heck out of this game back in the day. The music, graphics, and pace off the game still stick with me. I swear these games I grew up with set the 'frequency/wavelength' that I pass through life today
Happy 25th Anniversary to Blazing Lazers that came out 25 years ago in the Summer of July 1989. Cant believe its been 25 years now. (2014-1989=25/2014-25=1989 & 1989+25=2014)
lmao it must be a very good game, I never played it. I'll have to download the Rom on my computer. Not unless I find it at a thrift store. Old video games are like antique brother. Better hold on to them, they're good investments. The consoles at $150 complete
I just started playing this one on my Turbografx Mini 16 and it is engaging. Once you figure out what every category of power ups does and how to combine them, it gets very entertaining, particularly because once you get to the 5th level (the one with the pyramids and Easter Island heads) it gets progressively harder and you have to figure out how to play strategy with your power ups and bombs. And a word of advice: after that level, save up as many bombs as you can because if you didn't need them in the first 4 levels, you certainly will after that.
I just arrived twice on that "cockroach face tank" boss in the boss rush from area 9(I mean these area 6 ships after the boss which is the reason to get stuck after waste 1 HOUR on this insanity),I usually hate very long games because ultimately my time is so short also I'm planning to come back with speedruns on RUclips after 2 years, but I’m still resisting to that(although I downloaded LiveSplit for testing sounds on LiveSplit, beginning with(or not) edited Waze voices) Fun fact:When you choose a voice sometimes the voice commands are saved in your manager and no problem if you wanna remove the files from "waze" folder(there's something about it I forgot what it is),once you open the app they will be there again and again(this happens with older devices) This game is very rude, just like Gradius with the checkpoints,to me what NEC done was a big mistake of forcing the player to return few meters if you die,my dodge in this game towards stage 7 is terrible,I easily lose items as well the "glowing tokens"(these multicolored spheres that goes up with the alternating drops) I'm considering give up playing it and watch it,because you have no help on stage 9,and I even give you a tip:If you're bad at dodging, leave this game already, you won't finish!!!!!!!
@@axelgear666 But worse it'll only let you go straight when you die if you collect glowing spheres, this trespass the limits of bureaucracy, truly pathetic rule of these Gradius like games
That's why I prefer watch this game,I'm stuck after the "cockroach head tank"(stage 7 boss),coming close to a first clean,I bet the childhood of everyone shouldn't deserve this very good but also crap game
well, is no surprised that they are the same people who develop Super Aleste = Compile. Yes, this game was develop by Compile, published by Hudson Soft, and also this game was almost based from the cinematic mecha movie: Gunhed
Get a PC Engine emulator and the rom, it should be readily available on the internet... or get a real console and HuCard. It's worth it, it's a fantastic game.
An absolute masterpiece that still plays incredibly well to this day. Quite certainly the very best vertical shooter released in 1989.
One of the best memories of my youth!
Ah yes, good ol' Shootface Missile Shooterface .
One of my favorite SHMUPS growing up.
So many things from this game made it into Super Aleste aka Space Megaforce.

Yeah, Compile reused lots of ideas in their shmups. They were fantastic developers.

@@voutespancar Damn. I know right? Thats crazy now that its 31 years now.
34 now.
35 now!!!!!
Master system has PowerStrike
Sega genesis has M.U.S.H.A
Snes has Space Mega force
TG16 has Blazing Lazers
Those are some good games.
NES has Zanac. The best 8-bit shooter. Can't believe you left that one out, especially since it's also a Compile game.
@@bubufubu NES has gun-nac
@@wess_6664 Gun-Nac is ok, but it's not on Zanac's level. It's an inferior sequel.
@@bubufubu yeah, that´s your opinion, a little and insignificant opinion. Noo men just kidding
Nintendo has The Guardian Legend.
Probably my favorite Turbo-Grafx game. Not that there was much competition, admittedly.
Devil's Crush, Ninja Spirit, Legendary Axe, Bonk, you get the best game ever made with Rondo of Blood if you count the CD add on. Turbografx > Genesis
This is my favorite shooter.
Area 2 music is awesome. Great game on a great console!
One of the best shooters ever made.
This game is the only reason I still own my Turbo Grafx. Awesome game, and good playing Tsunao!
+Clayton Boyle Blazing Lazers cost so much on eBay. I was thinking of getting it but GOD DAMN!!!!!
+JT STAR Holy shit I just checked - $100! what happened?

It has gone down in price I think.
No,don't buy, prefer to invest time with your family or easier and shorter games, this game works out of line!!!!!

Never saw the appeal of this game. Generic and average gameplay and the graphics arent that good.
@Worse Than Hitler pt. 2 your on Crack, this game is insanely good. Found it to be more engaging than Rtype

One of the best games every created. Hands Down!!! It can still stand strong today if it was re released.
Sadly not enough people are interested in games like these today :'(
So many memories, thank you for this!
最懷念的遊戲音樂,至今依然印象深刻
That Select A B crap during the credits had me thinking there was a secret to unlock.
Photon Factor, Shields, Multibody, Homing Missiles, pretty much all you need in this game.
you have to get to Area 9 fully powered or you are f*cked :D
That's why I prefer watch this game,I'm stuck after the "cockroach head tank"(stage 7 boss),coming close to a first clean,I bet the childhood of everyone shouldn't deserve this very good but also crap game
This was the most complete game on the console. Must have had the best project leads.
the best thing is that this game was packed in with the pal version of the turbo grafx 16!
even the box is themed after blazing lazers.
Vid Jenko It was themed after R-type.
well now that i have it in my hands, yes, that is true. thank you for correcting me.
You´re welcome. That been said, I still prefer Blazing Lazers over R-Type so your idea would have been really nice!
Too bad the US version got stuck with a stupid platformer.
+Christopher Sobieniak bonk was a great platformer...
I normally avoid weapon IV like the plague, but after seeing that Area 9 run I may have to reconsider😂
This area is insanity,I’m coming close to clean the game, but here the soundtrack is stressing, the enemies get insane, this is not a shmup game…
Awesome! The comments are also very motivating.
It was released in the US as Blazing Lazers. Gunhed is the Japanese name.
Vous êtes vraiment fort dit donc!!
I always heard the name of the wave weapon as "Descriptor Wave."
Those intro drums!!!!
an old fav game :D and im only 18 years old :) got 2 love 16 bit games

BLAZING LAZERS!
For Your Turbografx 16!

If anyone wants to play this game it's available on the Japanese PS3 Store for 6 to 7 dollars.
Area 8 is weird...
BUBBLES... BUBBLES EVERYWHERE
That's an 8 bits processor technically ;)
Kanye would like some shit like this

I Line the soundtrack.
another compile shooter in 80s. such a great company at shooters but after they started making puyo stuff..
00:15 i swear to god thats from a megaman level?....
I think mines is super star soldier
Just discovered nec game with emulator.
I just realised that sega and nintendo were overated.
I would say that the Pce is underrated versus the others being over...

Or just emulate it. Mednafen's good.
Super Star Soldier >>> Blazing Lazers
I’ve had them both to this day. Blazing Lazers is slightly better
