STIGLITZ, who I otherwise admire, has NO CLUE of what happened and happens in Abya Yala (you can keep the meaningless "America" name, you already use it as if it were your own) since 1492. We are trying to diversify (even liberal-conservative and national-popular governments alike) since at least the 1960's. It is not for lack of trying and being creative at it (see Teoria de la Dependencia). David Riccardo probably didn't forsee value creation vis a vis psychological perception. On a different point, we also invested heavily, massively, in education, including superior education, encompassing scholaships abroad which, unfortunately, has caused a massive brain-drain mostly to the U... "America".
GUZMÁN, for whom I have deep appreciation too, if he had been backed in government Argentina would be well now, only talks about Argentina, really. The rest of us did not stagnate in 2012, nor did we contract the ridiculous debt Macri (and Moreno in Ecuador) did 2015-18. On a different point he is right we would like to have real free trade and not protectionism as for ever, clear rules, keep your supposed "aid" for yourselves, and instead play fair and pay real prices.
BTW it is funny that Tejas, Tejas, would host a conference where the plunderers, coup d'etat instigators, ponder "how they should 'help' us? ¿How to help us? STOP 'HELPING' US AND PAY REAL, FAIR PRICES.
