Girls Fishing South Florida for Invasive Exotics

- Brooke and I make a stop in South Florida to catch one of the most invasive exotics in the area, Peacock Bass.
These hard fighting fish, with their aerial jumps and line-stripping runs are actually native to the Amazon but have taken over the bass populations in local lakes here in Southern Florida over the last 40 years from when they were first introduced.
Join me in today's video as we grab some live bait & hit up one of my favorite peacock bass lakes to get our lines wet while on our way to the Florida Keys for a few Sailfish Tournaments in the coming days. We had no idea we were walking into a really hot bite and it was non-stop action until we ran out of bait !
Thanks so much for watching!

Oh my. Beautiful and can fish. Great video.
Can't wait for weather like that in iowa... its cold AF and snowing heavily right now.
Awesome catches!!!
For anyone interested: On the official Florida Fish and Wildlife website, Butterfly Peacock bass are listed as "Nonnative" but they are not classified as "Invasive". The website states:
..."introduced by FWC in large coastal canals of southeast Florida in 1984; low water temperatures and intolerance of saltwater prevent this species from becoming abundant outside of coastal Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The real value of this fish is in its use for controlling over-abundant exotic forage fishes and its sporting qualities; therefore FWC encourages anglers to catch and release these fish, especially those longer than 14 inches."
Cheers! -- Jason
Y’all having way to much fun.
That’s awesome!!
Wow it's beautiful there in florida
Erica, nice video. If you do another, can you show a close up of how you hook the shiners?
I really enjoyed your video new watcher keep them videos coming
Great video watching from Columbus Ohio
Great video watching you and Brooke fishing together and love how excited you both get when each of you hook them, plus excited for each other! Brooke, don’t be embarrassed when you slipped down that slope, I’d have probably slid my ass all the way into the water lol! Fun video watching you two together have so much success hauling all those in, the colors of them plus the huge bass Brooke and you caught! Thanks for sharing 😄
Erica has magic touch in fishing first one u caught gold shinny fish I wouldn't toss that back on ocean.
Great video pretty fish beautiful girls and a nice looking pond.
Got to admit that I'm not much of a fresh water fisherman anymore , but I think I would like to go down south for some of those Peacocks !!! 😁
Same I didn't realize they had they that make my day. I use to do salt water and actually use to work on a commercial fishing boat and use to hand line for fun all the time catching tuna on a hand line was some of the funniest I definitely miss that
Absolute perfect day

Beautiful.....and the fishing looks like fun too.
3:20 - Damn... that was a quick hit!
Pretty fish
Since they're evasive, can you not keep them? Are they any good to eat?
👍😎
youthful exuberance.... you kids are so cute... love your excitement ....also, buy a Boga Grip.. I get so worried about a hook in the hand.. way more control over a wriggling fish ...plus, it saves the thumb!!!
Go check out Rodbenders Seafood Restaurant in Cutler Bay. Amazing Mahi Sandwich.
