Absolutely beautiful could listen to this song all day , I one wish before God call me home is to have the opportunity to sit and listen to seamus Begley voice,.

I traveled from Las Vegas all the way to Dublin just to say I saw Mary in concert.....it was a great few days, while there, we took the train to Galway, a great seaside town, I have to go back to Dublin, so much to see... Im sure i will see MAry in concert in 2023......
As beautiful as ever a pure gentleman asked him to sing this in dingle one sun afternoon 20 years ago u could here a pin drop a pleasure to see seamus again last Oct in Castleisland at patrick ó Keeffe rip to one of the best singer musician and funny man
Well, I do not understand Gaelic, but it is such a beautiful melody and performance that it is a treat to listen to. The background music is especially fitting to the mood.
Listen to time and time again, this is what singing is all about, a story sung in verse with the two greatest singers of our generation. I understand scottish gaelic and can make sense of our cousine tongue.
Beautifull song and sung beautifull. The song originated from the Blasket islands off the coast of Kerry. I originally heard Seamus;s version with Stephen Cooney in the 90's (still my favourite) but Mary's duet with him is also a beautifull effort. Mary does not do too many infact I cannot recall another in the irish language. Maybe i'll upload the original as i dont see it on youtube. The title translated from Irish (Gailge) would be the Ege of the White Rock.
