I feel like FFDP is easily one of the best rock bands out there, great tunes and amazing live performances, but the crowds ALWAYS blow! They deserve better crowds! Cmon guys
I think this song is made to be a bit ironic. As I have interpreted it he isn't so proud of what america is now, but what it could be. I mean Ivan is a guy who has a very personal interpretation of christianity with god as a woman, he has an immigrant in his band and he has made a song with openly gay Rob Halford.
MrMrMaran I think he is Right-Wing. He IS a free-enterprise Capitalist. He doesn't like what society treats as Saints and Messiah's(Pop Stars, Actors...)
TheCommanderCreep I think you are absolutely right, hence the comment by "wolf2966". This song almost seems directed at liberals with a significant amount of hostility. "I don't wanna regret who I've become" ... who pushes that agenda to make people hate who they are? Liberals. Self-hatred is generally not a term associated with conservative values. This and the song The Pride really doesn't leave much to the imagination where they stand on the issue of capitalism. "I'm not selling out, I'm buying in." The message is very right leaning, not pansy liberal feel good bullshit. Liberal messages tend to be based on class warfare the most. Hate the man with the money and run the show. This music is saying fuck all that shit, I can run the show along with anyone else. Verdict: NOT liberal bullshit.
***** Yes, you hit the nail on the head! One thing is the Left likes to target the "upper class" and use redistribution of wealth. Even though every time ROW has been used in the past, it has failed. Miserably.
