Mr See, I purchased the CDP-S150 based on your review and am totally happy with it. The price was better on Amazon but my local store matched the price and included an adult lesson course. Amazon said they could have it in three days in my home with Amazon prime but my local store said they would deliver it in twenty minutes. That was a deal breaker so I took Biden's advice and spent the stimulus money on something I didn't need from a local "mom and pop". Thank you for the wonderful video and I'm totally happy, now I'm going to learn how to play it. BTW, I just had my 78th birthday. :)

Please, try to click twice at bright piano and you'll get a fuller sound with more gain. You can do the same with any other sound. You can also click on standard/bright piano keys and get a new beautiful piano sound. Great job, as always...

Hi Jeremy! I'd like to leave a comment to thank you for the unbiased and precise review you keep posting. I'm a beginner pianist and for many months I've searched a good digital piano that would fit my small apartment. In my area there aren't many specific store for music instruments, but I've managed to get an opinion following your channel. This month I've purchased a Casio CDP-S350, after analyzing your reviews and comparison. It has been an excellent choice: the piano is really slim and compact, with great features and good action. I really dig the keys sensitivity and tactile feel. The only weak spot is the speaker rendition of certain tones, but it's something understable seen the size. Thanks again and keep up the good work, I'll be following you!

This is a great piano for the price and all the features you covered so well, I don’t need to mention here, if they suit the potential buyer. And like you said, the Roland FP10 is otherwise the best overall for the general price range, but it has been out of stock, and so in demand. But $500 for a good quality weighted 88 key digital piano was not available years ago, just like my $350 Roland Go:Keys 61K is light years ahead of my 1983 6 voice polyphony Roland JX-3P synthesizer at $1300. I really like my keyboard, and the Casio CT-S300 for the reasons I mentioned, but for $800, I can get the Yamaha DGX-670 which offers so much more than the Roland FP30. Kudos to Casio, Yamaha and Roland, as well ss other companies like Rockjam to cone out with such great instruments for the price.

From what I've seen, price differences for midi controllers with piano action key beds vs digital pianos aren't that great.

Appreciate this review as I have a Steinway M Grand that I am afraid of using for practice in a condo where I live as people do not like to hear practicing. So I have been looking for something to do all my practicing on and then can use the real grand to play on when complete. So wanted one with option for headphones and didn't need all the voices that others have, but action and sound are important and I did want a full 88 keys.
So I wonder if you have a place where you list all the models that are the simplest to use for practicing, but separated from the foldable and the rollups as those pose other problems and should be in a different list where portability is more key.

I am sure the Yamaha 88 keyboards you mentioned have great action, but the Roland RD 2000 has their top of the line flagship keyboard action, with a price to match. Their newer $1200 RD 88 is great, and has built-in speakers, but has the next level down keyboard action, but still great. But check out yhe new Yamaha DGX-670 at $800. It's incredible for $400 less thsn the RD 88. I love Roland instruments, but that will be my next keyboard.

    • @jjacob25101
      @jjacob25101 3 года назад

      Hey, Manon,
I am a friend of Jeremy from Honolulu, HI, and just got my Roland Go:Keys 61K around Thanksgiving, but have known about it, as I like Roland products and have had so much of of their gear and several keyboards, drum mschines snd more. I had a JX-3P synthesizer, a Fantom X6 keyboard workstation, and presently still have a JD-Xi analog/digital synthesizer/vocorder.
The Go:Keys is a great keyboard for a beginner, and a whole lot more for the price. It's light, portable, has built in speakers with Bluetooth capability to play music over your speakers and s
Also play along with it. It has MIDI connectivity via micro USB for music DAW software, battery power option, and lots of high quality sounds from each instrument category, especially if you enable the GM2 voices from the much more expensive Juno DS workstation keyboards. It has nice textured keys, with a semiweighted action good for a beginner.
Plus, it has a cool loop mix function, a cool variation of styles from other keyboards.
I am just getting back into playing, have been so busy with work all this time, and this seemed to have almost everything I needed and wanted for the price at this time and compliments my JD-Xi, ss both are red and black.
Check out the awesome Yohan Kim on RUclips, he uses both, among other keyboards, and is an incredible world class musician, arranger, and composer, and is the Roland ambassador for their products in Korea.
So yes, itvis a great keyboard for a beginner, but yhe Yamaha PSR-E373, is also great, at $200.
The only thing is, that you will have to search online for the music rest, like I will be ordering, as unlike the Go:Piano, it's not included.
Check out that Yamaha PSR-E373 on Jeremy's video, and search for videos on the Go:Keys, too. It would be really nice if Jeremy got one of these and made a video review of it. *hint* Now that you showed interest. It is a viable option, especially for aspiring songwriters on a budget.
I hope that helps answer your question.

The have different technologies, and design perspectives, and Jeremy puts so much effort into making these videos, but can make the decisions for many of you, because there are so many different factors involved, and only you can decide, plus availability and price, your objectives, and level of playing proficiency. It's a synthesizer with a limitid amount of presets. You'd better buy a real synthesizer.

Its a digital piano, not a synthesizer, very different things

This is a digital piano, not a synthesizer. It is weighted and graded action, not a synthesizer action.
I thing you're missing the complete point of what this particular device is for. A synth isn't a good tool to learn piano. The keybed response tends to be too light on a synth and conditions beginners to miss the expressive features of a piano keybed.
Also, what 88 key, weighted synthesizer can you get at this price point? If a synth is want you need, but that. If a digital piano is what you need, buy that. They are not interchangeable.

A digital piano is a synthesizer with less presets. You can get synthesizers with weighted keyboards.

@@doordedeur But synthesizers with weighted keys, almost always 88 will cost a lot more for full weighted action. Some keyboard workststions have 88 keys and can be a digital piano and synth. But not all synths are digital pianos.

Casio will always be associated with toy organ keyboards. It should create a sub brand, a sort of new player brand backed up by a well stablished company. Just saying. 😊

They do have Privia line of true digital pianos. Should have established that as its own brand.

This sounds no better than casio digital pianos of 20 years ago. I haven't looked into it, but no doubt there's probably an android app you can get for VST plugins geared at performers. Get a decent quality midi keyboard paired with a cheap tablet, plug it into your speakers and it will give you infinitely better sound than this Casio at a fraction of the cost.

Im calling BS on this comment. It is true that VST's will give you a great sound and I personally use VST's 99% of the time. But If you go any cheaper than this you're literally getting trash fatar keyboards from chinese manufactures. Rolands PHA-4 , Casios Scaled Hammer Action are the best way to go to actually have good control over the best vsts.
      I use Garritan CFX.
I think you're going the right way with your recommendation , but you are really disinforming people regarding them being able to acquire a good action for less than literally one of the cheapest pianos already in the market.
