Thank you for making this helpful resource. My daughter is starting to learn Arabic, and the script is mind boggling for us English speakers. Your work in demonstrating the letters and sounds is much appreciated!
Can you really say that there ain't no capital letters when every letter has 4 forms? Initial, middle, final and separate, or is that the old way to write arabic? You could say that initial form is capital, or with names like J. Ramos, wouldn't that J be written with separate form of the letter?
There’s no capitals, that’s just the way the abjad is written in accordance with the rules (a style of writing that’s been around since 2000 BC?). In English I can begin a sentence like “Hi, my name is Josh.” But you wouldn’t write “hi, my name is Josh.” With H being lower case. If you write the same thing in Arabic, you would have a big or enlarged baa, taa, or thaa etc. it may have small difference based on where certain letters are positioned, but it’s still the same letter. That’s why they say there are no capitals.
Arabic Alphabet is Master Piece of Art!!! beautiful, I love it
