In 1959 when the top 5% of the aristocratic serf owners, lama and government officials fled to India the remaining population was serfs, small merchants and farmers. The people we see on this document are their descendants. Their lives have improved tremendously compared to what western archival document on the lives of serfs for sure.

Small minded sectarianism. Tibetan Buddhism also includes Bon shamanism so is different from Japanese Buddhism. Calling it bad is a reflection on the author. I like Tibetan Buddhism a lot and think it has unique value.

Monks and nuns are eating momo,chiken,eggs,married and living luxury life then what is defferent between us.they should avoid meat,alcohol,married and living luxury. Their king made this kind of buddhism suitable for himself.now they should change it then they could inspire us. Nonveg means involved in violence.

@@jeevankumargurung2438 Vegetarianism is a food choice. Eating meat is not evil of itself, nor is it an impediment to realisation. Tibetans live off Yaks and grains and meat is integral to their diet from long before Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhists are not leading a luxury life at all. Most of the people in this video have done prostrations all the way to Lhasa. The Ningmapa lamas marry. Yeshe Dorje, who I met several times and took vows with, had a wife and seven children and lived in a kerosine tin shack. You have just one rather narrow Hinayana view even if you claim to be Mahayana. This narrows your viewpoint and limits Buddhism to a rump belief lacking true enlightenment.

Lasha is a beautiful historical place but tibetan buddhism is bad buddhism.their all king 1st to 16th dalai lama and karmapa are rebirth monk in the luxury palace with queens.monks are also nonveg,alcoholic,married and living luxury.this all are against real buddhism.i'm also buddhist but i don't like this kind of buddhism.i'm from the land of buddha lumbini nepal.
