About this game:
We fused card games and roguelikes together to make the best single player deckbuilder we could. Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, discover relics of immense power, and Slay the Spire!

gotta wait for a few more updates to get 600 episodes out of it but it's already very good and I legit put 69 hours into it, once they release the third character you can probably get 100hours out of the game
Sounds like career suicide to me
there's really not enough content for 600. Maybe if they add the infinite mode and like double the cards. Right now theres only like 4 different bosses for each level and like 3 archetypes for each class. And I don't know about you but self-burn and self-wound for the warrior are kind of shit archetypes.

gotta say if you're a youtuber and have the talking nonstop ingrained into your every cell like NL has it would be kinda stupid to NOT just record as you play. I mean, if you are a game-related youtuber chances are that you will not play THAT many games in your "freetime" because you actually want to do something different... maybe.
When I started streaming I always thought about a games entertainment factor before I started to play it and decide if it's streamworthy

@@MikeOcksmallClipsoh come on. In 2023, he speaks way more slowly and his entire tone is more nonchalant and jaded. It’s all part of his shtick as he’s become more banter-forward. But this NL seemed much more eager, excited, and optimistic. I love 2023 NL, for the record.

This game is really freakin' good. Very impressed as to how solid it is in Early Access, looking forward to see how they update along the way.
My biggest issue with the game is the map meta is basically go for all the relics or definitely lose.

The balance is really kinda fudged at the moment. Some of the bosses are actually just insane, get relics or lose, both characters have one best deck that you have to go for if you want to win, and a few other things that make the game increasingly frustrating overtime. However, I do say this as someone who has been sinking many hours into the game despite those things because I really do love what we have at this point in its development.
I think that alot of the balancing can be fixed and hopefully will. Another issue in my opinion is that it looks horrible. The art style is awful. And that is something that most likely won't be "fixed"...
Well, granted the art direction doesn't mean the game can conclusively be "bad." Its just preference, I guess. Good luck staring at the art style you particularly don't enjoy
Edit: Maybe an addition of new backgrounds while in-battle and cleaner lineless art is all we need! Maybe the ironclad merges in with the colors too well? I don't know what could be changed, but maybe there just needs to be more of something, I just don't know what.

You don't always need to take cards, and you shouldn't always take cards. More cards = more bloated = more variance in your deck.
And you should remove cards to try and keep the deck balanced around block and attack. If you constantly take attack cards, you'll have no blocking cards. Strikes and blocks aren't as good as basically every other card.
I feel like you should aim to remove the basic blocks and strikes from your deck.
My best run as the warrior was using mostly regular blocks and strikes. With the upgrade every card in your deck card + ways to farm strength, regular strikes are pretty damn effective. But I tend to generally replace an attack or block every time I get a new card that is better.
analychemist one of my best runs was when I got a room that upgraded all my strikes and blocks permanently, that was nice
I try removing cards all the time but when I encounter an enemy that puts wounds and burns in my deck it becomes extremely difficult. Really makes getting the achievement a pain.
All you need is barricade, impervious and body slam. Easy win when they are combined.

Don't be scared of curses. Calling Bell is probably one of the stronger boss relics you can get since most relics are more useful than the curses are harmful. Some cards and relics also benefit from having curses. Keep that in mind in future runs.

Bro Northern Lion I had no idea you even played this bro. Came here from Balatro, dipped in my library and pulled out an old game and decided to give it a try and Actually am enjoying it.
Ngl, you do something very different than your Balatro streams.

Not sure if you've noticed this yet, but vulnerability's damage increase only factors in once hovering over the specific enemy since if there's multiple enemies they might not all have it so to show it on the card in hand there would be incorrect/disorienting

Took me forever to remember this, but Slay the Spire is just a better Monster Slayers. Kinda strange how similar the games are though

I tried monster slayers after I played slay the spire and thought it was real bad, refunded it
The only upside I see to monster slayers is that it has way more cards and classes. This game is still better in general though and still has updates in it's future for some more classes/cards.
I bought this game on your recommendation and have since spent 30 hours in it, really looking forward to this series! As i watch the video IL be adding any advice I think may help.
1) If you cast a damaging increasing debuff on an enemy hovering your attack card over them will show the new damage amount
2) Skill cards are cards that deal no direct damage in the video you say bash is a skill but its an attack skill cards are your armour and buff cards
3) Not an objective thing but i find draw and Aoe to be very strong in your deck draw can mean extra anger which is free damage and helps you dig for apotheosis
4) All but the smallest Slimes split at half hp so when you are fighting them be aware of current hp as you don't need to block if you can force them below half (24:30)
5) Cards like sword boomerang don't synergies with breath fire as they are only counted as one attack with 3 instances they do however synergies well with strength cards as each instance of damage gets the buff
I think you have done very well honestly most of the mistakes are just game knowledge so i have high hopes for this series.

honestly your lets look at made me buy this game and was really hoping youd do a lets play series on it.
Recently got addicted to slay the spire, time to binge this series.
Holy shit the 3 Sentries were overpowered in the early version of the game.

The best thing to note going foward, a smaller deck means you pull the cards you want more often. Ideally you'd have a 5 card deck lol, but thats pretty hard to do.
I really don't know if I'm extremely excited for nl playing this or scared about the future internal rage at the failed min maxing

At the end, Offering seemed like the best choice tbh. Getting more cards and the means to play them at the cost of some hp seems much better than the chance to gain some extra life.

You had a great selection of card choice in this first area. That doesnt always happen. Just remember you can always skip on card pickups so your deck isnt flooded with cards that dont synergize well. Demon form is great with multi-hit attacks. Rampage is good with card draw and card search. You can easily build a run around those two cards.

The only thing I don't like about this video is that the next one isn't out yet.

you actually dont have to caculate damage from buffs and debuffs yourself, when you point the card at the target thats effected by such things, the number on the card itself will change to the true value
