Damn, the character development of each character brings one to tears. Many did not make it, yet the ones who made lost part of themselves along the way.
That's just called growing up or maturing. Some traits might be lost for a while due to trauma but if they find those important time will bring them back as it heals wounds. Time in realistic anime will never bring back the dead. But as long as you live, you can always find yourself again.

What I only consider a character development is a complete change of their personality. Haruhiro thinking positively in every situation. Ranta always saying nice things to his comrades. Yume speaking like a smart person. Kuzaku is very clever. Setora speaking politely. The author don't know what real progress is, and he don't know what he's doing with his novel. Someone should take over the job or should I be the one to write his novel. After going through a lot, the main characters should be perfect human. They don't make mistakes, and everything will always go their way. Haruhiro should always kill his enemy in 1-hit. Other series did it, so why Grimgar can't do it?
Thats such a rudimentary and dumb way to define character development, development can be subtle, a not be completely ubiquitous. Development can be positive or negative, as defined here "In literature, character development is the craft of giving a character a personality, depth, and motivations that propel them through a story. Character development is also defined as how a character evolves throughout the course of a story."
also, Haru doesn't always kill every enemy with one hit, i dont know where you got that notion, he just does critical damage since he's you know, a stealthy assassin-esque fighter who aims for critical hit points when the opportunity arises, Haru also has become a better leader compared to when he was still indecisive and lacked leadership skills
