I’m writing this because I found it hard to find any reviews that either weren’t blatant paid advertisements masquerading as reviews, or where the more honest reviewers such as this one, stated they’d been sent the product for a review at no cost.
I’ve paid for one, so hope a genuine consumer review might be helpful to anyone thinking about a purchase.
I’d already ordered a 2.0 version before seeing quite a few negative reviews online, so was concerned I’d been ripped off and had a nervous week waiting for it to arrive. However, I can confirm it was exactly as advertised.
It’s seems well made and has decent thickness, so is warm and comfortable to wear both around the home and outside. It does fit well and is very adjustable.
Regarding choosing the right size, I took my best fitting hoodie, laid it on the floor, then measured both the length and width, (shoulder to shoulder / under arm to under arm for the chest). I matched these measurements to the helpful sizing chart on their website, (which in my case was. XL). When it arrived, it was a perfect fit.
I do feel it’s on the pricey side but don’t feel like I’ve been ripped of as I knew the cost when I bought it and there’s nothing I’ve found fault with in terms of the product v the advertising. I’m therefore not unhappy, but if it had cost £50, I would have reordered to get a couple of extras in different colours.
Looking at the negative reviews which actually show pictures of what was delivered, I can only speculate that they purchased from somewhere other than the official website and didn’t get a real Baerskin, or got the earlier version, which I’m not qualified to pass comment on. What I can confirm is that the pictures of hoodies I saw on the negative reviews don’t look anything like what I’ve received.
If you’re in the market for a good quality, nice fitting, medium weight, warm hoodie with lots of pockets, the Baerskin 2.0 does what it says on the tin, albeit at a price.

When I started the channel back in 2018 I had no intention of making reviews but we (content creators) all get sucked in to this as we do get sent items for free, as a way of a 'thank you' we make the videos.
The style I've tried to adopt is giving people the facts and let them make the decision weather to buy or not - I would hate to tell people to rush out and buy something and them be disappointed, as, lets face it, all our needs and expectations are different.
I've have stated in a previous reply - would I buy one if I wasn't sent this one? and the answer is NO, not because its a bad product or I don't like it BUT because I have one that meets my needs more, the one I tend to use is also more expensive. However I do find myself using this one also now I have it.

I’m in the U.K. mine took 10 days from order to delivery. Hoodie is warm, comfortable and I think looks great. I’ll definitely be buying another of a different colour
Greetings, my brother across the pond! I’m retired Navy (U.S.), AND retired federal game warden. In considering the Baerskin….I looked at many similar versions. I went with Amazon’s MagcoMsen…for slightly more than $50.00….with the same heavyweight 330gsm fleece….in gray (haze gray and underway, as we used to say!). I’ve used it on three winter hikes, here in the Berkshires (western Massachusetts). Snow, drizzle, wet snow, wind and no wind….temps down to low 30s. The fleece performed admirably. My dislikes? There are three….No hood cinch, no cuff closures, and two inside pockets have no bottoms (and I found that out the hard way, when my car keys fell out on the trail. Thank God, backtracking, my hiking pal, my Australian Shepherd, nosed them out on the snowy trail!). I also wouldn’t mind “pit zips”, but I recognize that you will pay a much higher price for these features! Still, while happy with my Amazon knock off, I am considering a Baerskin now, as I’d like to have those “cinch down” features….especially important when the winter wind kicks in. And yes, I added two morale patches: one a subdued American flag, and one a subdued Navy Ensign. I enjoyed your review, even though Baerskin provided yours. And brother….that’s one helluva nice Land Rover! I gave you a “like”. Best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous….and a more peaceful, New Year!
Thank you for the kind words Brother, I'd highly recommend you read several of the comments on this video, people are giving the hoodie mixed reviews. Even tho I like mine (I'm actually wearing it tonight), as you quite rightly said there are more expensive ones out there that are arguably better. I've been tempted to look at the Helicon in the future as that one has some avid fans.
If I was to recommend something, I'd steer you in the direction of Merino Wool! But I think clothing is subjective.

This under my Arcteryx Alpha SV is all that is needed for the majority of day to day cold season in the northeastern US. If climbing I obviously go with more of my purpose built gear(also Arcteryx.)
For the price it is a solid bit of kit as long as it is used within the parameters of it's intended use.
I ordered a jacket for my son on Oct 16. It never shipped. I went to their Facebook page and saw many complaints about waiting for shipping. One person who finally got their item after a month said the quality was poor. They did issue a refund.

I wish that I'd looked for shipping reviews before I bought. Over 3 weeks to get mine, and missed Christmas. Their process is broken.

I just got my Baerskin hoodie today and i must say i really like it, now i have to say shipping did take a while....a little over 3 weeks, BUT i got it. I wore it out today going to the store it's a cold day here about 38 F and it did a good job of keeping me warm. I would recommend.

Guys on Trustpilot in Oct 2022 saying 7 weeks and more with orders showing "processing". My order is 3 weeks old and I got a form letter blaming both Supply shortage AND shipping difficulties. BEWARE!
I ordered and paid for 2 hoodies from this company and only received 1. When I contacted them about it, they claimed the order was placed to long ago and that was it, they stole my money.
Question: I keep reading comments about late shipping and poor response time. Are these problems everywhere, or limited to the UK market? As this being a channel in the UK, with probably most of its audience.
I know I didn't pay for mine, but it did take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive, I also did NOT have tracking info but that could be because there was no exchange of cash.. but I am curious to see what others say!

I got mine in out a months time. 2.0 ordered nov 7 came dec 6. I live in Colorado also. Had no problems with it.
I actually got a cheaper copy Baerskin I found on Amazon I think it’s really nice it’s my daily wear in winter they fit well and are really pretty warm there’s always room for improvement but it’s good.

I don’t doubt that, I mean I know it was a look-alike when I bought it but still it’s pretty nice. Can you make an option without the Velcro wrap cuff? It’s bulky I like just the sleeve with thumb hole for gloves. @@baerskintactical

In fact, we had a previous version with thumb holes in them. However, since we make improvements to our product based on previous customer feedback, we decided to remove that feature. I received mine last week,I new what I was buying as my friend had one and I just new it would look better on me,quite thick smooth fleece with good stitching and a nice hood with peak and a sort of fish tail back keeps your ass warm.and inside pockets keep your front warm think it's a cool design and worth the money ,, everyone has there own opinion but some are a bit suspicious,I've got jackets I've paid a hell of a lot more for ,so I don't get some comments.. If it's hanging off my frame were stitching has give way and I've lost my phone through a ripped pocket or had my arm ripped off due to walking into a bear blinded by the peaked hood I'll let you know ,but up to now ( a cool jacket ) 👀🐻

They don't respond to emails. After two weeks I got a tracking number. The shipping statuses were suspect. Turns out the tracking number is not the correct format so they are apparently updating the tracking site themselves. Got a status that it arrived a day into the future, go figure. They must have a time machine. Weeks since ordering and still nothing. What was I thinking about ordering before reading the reviews.

Accurate review. Bought this through TruSwat, and their shipping process is totally broken. Ordered 10 days before Christmas, and was finally delivered January 9th...
If you need one for next year, go ahead and order it now. They drop-ship from China and nobody is in a hurry to fill your order.

I’ve got to say I don’t much care for the cuff on the new Baerskin seems like it would make it too bulky feeling. Mine just has the fit cuff with a thumb hole.
I honestly think I too would prefer a thumb hole inner with a more sleek velcro cuff outer

Looks like a lot of extra baggy material on the arms, Iv ordered one in my size but Iv since been told they wear extremely bigger for the size, I’m hoping mine is a snug fit.

@AliveAgain if you go small you can wear a waterproof jacket over the top... if you go medium it'll pretty much look like my one.. however there are other hoodies and fleeces on the market
Loving the "Is it worth it?" Yeah that'll be a no.
When you buy this don't think of trying to return it you won't receive a response. It's unisex cut which is different than male/female. If you're a man and used to a traditional Men's zipper this is the opposite the zipper pull is set for left handed (female from where I come from). Was it made well yes I'm just used to a man's cut not unisex with a left handed zipper pull.
They seem to be great but postage is not very good I’ve been waiting nearly 3 weeks that what happens with free shipping

@@WildernessAdventuresUK I’m in the UK and shipping was free. Took just over a week to arrive, (although I did drop them an email asking them to confirm receipt of my order and provide an eta). The reply confirmed receipt and said they’d expedited my order although I hadn’t asked them to, so perhaps this is why mine came through in a week.

You forgot to mention that the zipper is on the wrong side. So much for attention to detail. The loose fit does allow for additional layers to be worn when needed. I ordered one and it came in a reasonable time (about 2 weeks).
I did know about the Zipper, I watched several reviews prior to making this one and a couple did mention it, mainly guys in the states... I didn't feel the need to mention it as I have garments with zips on both sides as I'm in the UK
I ordered mine from the official website and it is coming up on 2 months. I have sent them emails and I get the same lame assed story, then they said it was lost. Still waiting.
I'm so sad to hear all these bad stories about the company.. unfortunately I'm not affiliated with them so have no power, though I may try reach out to them in an email and see if they reply!

@@WildernessAdventuresUK Well it's been a little over 2 months since I ordered and SURPRISE it was sitting on our doorstep. I have to say the workmanship was spot on and all the upgrades they did made this a perfect jacket. Must have been the ten emails I sent them.
@mtn ride I'm glad it finally arrived and you are happy with it - I have to say this has been one of the most controversial videos I've made, has left me thinking what do I do when they bring version 3 out 🤷♂️
Looks pretty ok, but the wrist straps are a deal breaker for me. The Velcro gets full of lint and those straps flap about, getting hung up on EVERYTHING.
Use a comb to clean the lint out .

Update April 17th 2023 got my 2nd Baerskin Hoodie 2.0 in Black XL today and couldn't be happier. Ordered April 6th delivered April 17th 11 days it took to get here from China and hoodie does not say made in China on the inside arrived in excellent condition no complaints 👍. Pros and Cons = Pros = Hoodie is cool looking and warm and comfortable and lots of pockets. Cons = Would be the shipping process TRACKING WAS NOT AN ISSUE tracked it all the way to the house my only complaint is they should use USPS or FED X or UPS once the package has reached the United States 🇺🇸 instead of any old delivery company you really never heard of. Mine got shipped by Lasership/ OnTrac and alot of reviews for their delivery service sucked alot of 1 stars out of 5. But overall the worry is over I got my Hoodie will I order again YES very soon.

Since they opted for cheap zippers is does not seem they paid attention to detail.
Hi @salladboL, we did put a lot of thought into every detail of our product. In fact, we based on previous customer feedback when we made improvements to this new version. Our new zippers are made of nylon, as it's a lot more flexible than a metal zipper and is often used for outdoor products. We hope you give our store a chance in the future!
I would suggest people avoid the Baerskin products and company completely. I ordered in early October 2022, after a month, they shipped my order and provided a tracking number. The tracking number stopped tracking on Nov 23 with the statement "flight arrived". There is no way to track after this. I've messaged the company and emailed them several times to follow up on my order, which is over $300 worth of product, and they send an auto message that delivery "takes time". There is NO phone number that I can find to actually call them and they will not "live Chat" like their website says. It doesn't work. You have to leave a message on their chat and they say they will respond via email. Sometimes they respond, sometimes they do not. This is not near a reliable way to do business. I've asked for a refund and I bet I'll never hear a work back. BUYER BEWARE!
I gave up on my order it had been over 2 months and numerous emails to them which got same response as you. I did not hear a peep from them after my last email. Well to my surprise yesterday a bag arrived at the door and there was my Baerskin hoodie! It is way better than the gen 1 I have (that one took 3 weeks to reach me) I am surprised it is warmer than the gen 1 and the changes are great but I will never do business with them again. Hopefully you will get yours.
I ordered mine back in October 29 still not here! It's now Nov 16 a waste of time and money. I feel bad for everyone we work to hard for this b.s.🥶👎
Company scammed me, never delivered the order, and I had to contact my financial partners fraud department… still waiting for my refund, and the package is a month late
I know this is going to sound silly, but have you tried contacting them direct? My experience with them has been very smooth
Disagree entirely with this review. I bought one and found it wanting as I shall explain:
1) The Baerskin is marketed as a ‘tactical’ hoody, clearly alluding to the garment being as hard wearing as properly designed military gear. As one who served in the army, in my view all a bit “wannabe”…but that’s marketing!
2) I ordered a large, which is meant to be up to a size 48” chest. Mine measured 51”, which even allowing for layering on my 46” chest was way too big. The garment also took three weeks to arrive, and I did not know I was ordering from China. So many scams involving China…😂
3) The hood is just massive! There is no getting away from this design flaw. The peak is also useless, is too small, is not wired and entirely superfluous.
4) As can be seen in the video, the arms are far too baggy, especially in the lower sleeves. They are also way too long. The Velcro cuffs are also wrongly positioned, meaning one cannot fully tighten the cuffs to seal out wind.
5) The issue with the large sleeves and the oversized hood means that high winds will inevitably penetrate the garment causing billowing…not desirable in many outdoor situations.
6) Baerskin market this garment as if alluding to it as being suitable for biking. They show a guy sat on his bike wearing this hoody. Do not consider using this hoody as being suitable for even low speed off-roading on an e-mtb. No way should this be used on a conventional motorbike - zero protection, like the idiot t-shirt riders.
7) So, with the above in mind, and to be fair to TrueSwat (who market the Baerskin), I asked under their terms and conditions for an exchange to a medium size, in grey, at their expense. One only has 14 days to exchange.
8) What followed was in my view a blatant attempt to rip me off. Following the email notice to exchange, they took several days to respond. Meanwhile, I checked out Trust Pilot for a fair opinion about TrueSwat. I discovered a plethora of 1-star reviews and angry comments about the customer service. Eventually, I was offered an exchange and I could keep the larger garment - fair enough. A few days later, I emailed them to ask when the tracking details were coming, which they promised to send. More emails from me. They then state that they can’t supply a medium in the grey colour. They give me two options: 1) either keep the large garment and they’ll refund me 60%; 2) I can send the garment back at my expense and they will give me a full refund. So, lose-lose for me! 😳 In the event, I got a charge back and they don’t want the garment back.
Bottom line: this reviewer is either being paid to promote the Baerskin hoody, or he hasn’t got a clue about outdoor gear. Judging by his clothes, I’d say the latter is probably correct. 🤔

I try to stay away from giving too many of my personal opinions as they will differ from many as I feel we all have varied level of expectations and standards..

I can't make that decision for you buddy, I can just give you the facts - with those facts then only you can decide if its worth spending £80 of your hard earned on it..

The answer is no, but only because I have one I think is better, but it cost twice as much....
The key words in the last sentence is "I think" - ie it suits MY needs better, this one may suit your needs and wallet better...

A man who doesn't know his forearm from his elbow (or bicep), interesting. So you got the product, set up a shoot in the "wilderness" (with trash tyres all around) and didn't even take the tag off the item. I'd suggest actually wearing the thing for a month, putting the garment through its paces, really determine what you like and don't like and then do a review.
One saving grace is all of your commenters; this sounds like a sketchy vendor, I'll pass.

@@jackblah5842 you're assuming too much buddy, the title isn't "review" I wasn't testing it, i was basically looking at what improvements/alterations have been made from the first edition, I left the labels on purposely to show how it arrives, as for the pocket on the arm. it isn't on the bicep! that's the point I was trying to get across as in my eyes It should be - but it's on the elbow... the same as the hoodie comment I made at the beginning, it isn't really a hoodie!

I know that it is supposed to be 'tactical' or utilitarian but boy, BOY, is it really, really ugly. The fit looks baggy in all the wrong spots and the little brim on the hoodie is incredibly goofy looking. I wouldn't purchase for that reason alone.
This is by fat has been the worst buying experience for me with this company . I ordered more then a week ago ( UNITES STATES ) but there has NOT been any updates from here he company . I sent two emails still

All my interactions with the company have always been positive, I know you can't please everyone, which is exactly why I just state the facts and always leave my review videos open for the consumer to decide if the product is right for them!
I'll take a pass with this product...they have American flags all over the place with their marketing but it's actually produced in China. It's a bait and switch, so screw these guys. Besides...products made by Kuhl are of superior quality. A bit pricey, but they're made to last...they even have a hoodie and it's made in the States.

Because that was the lamest review of a paid review I have ever seen. You only did pros of the product. What about the cons of the product? Did you test it out for more than one night. No. Test the product for a few weeks and then do a review. And then give it a pros and cons. A one night review is bullshit.

These would be a rip-off even at $40. They start falling apart almost as soon as you take them out of the bag. Just complete trash. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
