I was a night shift L&D nurse for 5 years and what you’re feeling is 1000% normal…you’ve got this, like you said, practice more self care. Find ways to spoil yourself on your days off. Some days you need to sleep all day and that’s okay. It will get better and the “rut” will pass eventually!
You are such an inspiration. Not only with organizing and beauty products but with my job. I am not a nurse but I have been a receptionist at the same Dr office for almost 5 years now full time (and I do hair part time too) and I definitely have gotten in a funk at my job too. I am extremely active at my Dr office and committed as I love my Drs and nurses I work with. I sometimes step onto the clinical floor as well if needed and you have inspired me to have a fun morning routine and the little things like incorporating cute scrubs or badge reels into my routine puts me in such a better mindset everyday. Even pairing cute jewelry with my scrubs helps too. People think “oh you just sit at a desk all day” but it’s so much more than that and we are the first ones they deal with either on the phone or in person and sometimes their lives are in our hands before the nurses. It’s exhausting sometimes and mentally draining. I get you girl. Keep your head up as you are a huge inspiration to all of us 💓💖
Girl I feel ya. I’ve been a nurse for 5 yrs on night shift and I still get in those funks you’re experiencing. It feels like I’m missing out on life and not enjoying it, because of work. You eventually figure out what works to help you out of those funks ❤️
You're back!! SO so happy to see you posting videos again! You should be very proud of yourself for how far you have come into your education and now full career! If only you could see yourself through the eyes of your viewers, you'd see how exceptionally smart, talented, thoughtful, spirited, and beautiful you truly are. Keep working hard girly, but remember to give yourself time to adjust and take care of yourself! ❤
I’m going through a funk adjusting to nights as a new grad myself. I thought I was the only one. Thank you for sharing and making me feel like I’m not alone.
Good job, Madi 🌸 Proud of you. It's literally 10 am here in Germany and your vlogs always motivates me to get things done. Tysm for your content 🌸 Lovely greetings from 🇩🇪 to 🇺🇸.
Hi Madi, I have been a longtime viewer of your channel since you were in nursing school. I would like to tell you that you are a pure heart :)
God bless you wherever you go ❣
Madi! You inspire me to be an amazing nurse one day, keep going and take it one day at a time
I’m a new RT, work night shifts as well and yup I’m definitely still on the same boat as you on feeling down/sad. I enjoy working nights, I just wish it didn’t really mess up my routine on normal days. Keep pushing through Madi!
I have done shift work for years and I feel the same sometimes. It is definitely an adjustment but my friends and i try do something together even if we feel like zombies - that fills my cups. It does get easier but you are not alone
I enjoyed the vlog Madi and I’m happy that you are back also congratulations on being in the commercial. I’m glad that you are doing better know
Miss you wishing you well Maddie you will figure it out we are praying 🙏🏾 for you 😊
Glad to see you're back I love your videos..... you got this girl 💖
Love watching your vids! So chill and relaxing ☺️
Aw you’re so cute in the commercial. Supporting you and sending you love always!
I've been on night shift for 5 and 1/2 years and it does not get any easier my biggest complaint is I have no energy when I'm not at work. people think you have all this time during the day but they don't realize you are exhausted from being awake and using all of your productive energy at nite.
Great job on the commercial! You looked so pretty! Love the purple scrubs! I always wanted to work in L & D because I love baby’s but I don’t think I can handle the stress or nursing school. I’m currently in medical assistant school graduating next semester.
Madi I was so happy to see you post! I have been missing your vids Queen! 💕😊 I'm heavily considering Nursing School rn because of you. Love you❤😊
Use a magic eraser to get the stains off of your Apple Watch band! 😊
Yay I’ve been waiting for another video! 🤗🤗
Where do you get your badge reels from I'm looking new ones.i have felt this as a full time caregiver for my mother can't go out no friends because they keep asking to go out and I'm forced to say no because she doesn't want me to hang out with my friends so I had to cut them off
Hi, what size was the black jacket you had on here from etsy? Just passed my nclex :)
Omggg I’ve missed you !!!!
When I was working night shifts my depression got so bad because I could never switch back to days on my days off.
So excited for you
I love the video
I enjoyed every minute of it 🌹
U like Nigerian song?🥺😁
I'm just curious how long did it take you to grow out your hair? Your hair is so beautiful!!
Love your red flower bedding covers where you get them ❤️❤️
the lipstick looks so good on you! what shade is that?
Use water And a rag to get it off
💜
It is a great commercial but we all know Tri-C nursing grads are the first choice ;-)
Also that looks like a fraggapan's donut! So yummy!
Hi Maddie! I just wanted to let you know that we started nursing at the same time but I went straight into night shift . I wanted to let you know that I went through the EXACT same thing you are and I promise you it gets better. I felt so depressed and tired for a while. You’ll find your rhythm and a routine that works for you and your family.
I also work with an amazing team and I can feel the growth and it’s heartwarming to see you go through the same thing as well! Best of luck to you 🥰
its a good day when I get to watch your videos, you have inspired my nursing journey so much! it may be rough but you are doing an amazing job!!
Almost 100K 🎉
You looked cute in the commercial, congrats! Why are all community College commercials the same no matter the location though? 😂
So proud of you Madi !! I know the whole journey hasn’t been easy in many ways but you have stayed through pushed on I’m so so proud of you. Your patients are so lucky. You are so beautiful strong and I pray nothing but joy and blessings coming your way.
hey girl 💕 I did nights for the first 7 months & I felt the same exact way. it wasn’t working night shift that was difficult, it was 100% personal/family life and days off that was difficult. I felt so anxious because I felt just this lack of control. I just always felt like I had no idea what was going on because I was just sleeping all day basically on my days off. it was definitely a hard adjustment for me. Thankfully I was able to move to days when I transitioned into the NICU. all this to say, I totally hear you and understand what you’re feeling and you’ve got this!!💕
i just saw the commercial on my tv the other day! i also go to lccc for nursing :) i start 3rd semester on monday, a little nervous, but your videos always help me go in with a more positive attitude! you’re such an inspiration for all of us 💗 wishing you all the best as you continue to navigate your new career as a L&D nurse 🤩
This is the first week of my peds & OB class. So happy to get this video as motivation for the new semester !
i love your videos madi!!💗 i’m going into my senior year of nursing in a couple of weeks and i want to be a labor and delivery nurse too!! i think i secured a spot for my preceptorship to be on a labor and delivery unit 🤞🏻
BYEE maddie that commercial was SO CUTE 👏🏾👏🏾😂😂
Thanks for sharing Madi. I worked nights 8 hour shifts for about two years when my children were little. It was so hard and I felt isolated from my family. I finally went to day shift and it was wonderful. Good luck to you💗
Love your energy 💕 you are glowing! You should do some hair tutorials for work. I absolutely love the way you style your hair.
You are not alone in feeling this! I was a new grad in L&D on nights and quit after 6 months because I couldn’t handle how bad night shift impacted me mentally and physically.
I’m a brand new grad in a SICU and am watching this to wind down after my first night shift and hearing you talk about work life balance as a new nurse I totally relate and really REALLY needed to hear this 🥹
Is there a way you could switch jobs? Like still be a nurse but work at like a clinic or like a different part of the hospital with different hours? My friend is a nurse she was going through the same thing but she just switched to a different part at the hospital and now she gets off at 5 everyday and has all weekends off and she gets paid the same
Oh girl, so sorry you’re in a rut. I’ve been there! Always here for you! Hang in there it’ll get better with time! Also, the commercial is adorable ❤️sending love!
Omg your from my area!! I just got hired at CLE CLIN as a PCNA
All these young girls will be sorry when they reach a certain age I know believe me
It’s not a good idea at all Ask any Dermatologists they will tell her the same thing
awww i loved your commercial madison
What are the little beads you were putting in the glass thing?
the way you were delirious in the car at 7:30am i’m dead 🤣
Oooo please do go-to hairstyles for nursing! My hair is extremely long like yours and I need ideas 😀😀😀
What were those balls you put into the clear container?!
So proud of you! Take mental health days mental health is so important you’re so loved and cared for! You can do this!!! 💗💗
I totally relate to you as far as being on night shift. I did night shift at my hospital for a little over a year. I tried everything to adjust to it. From doing school work, fitting social time with family and friends, trying to go to the gym, eat healthy, and have time to myself I would do anything to try to feel a sense of “normalness” from day to day. I constantly felt depressed, lazy, unmotivated, and I was so moody all the time. I could never sleep right at all and felt like I had no life at all. I tried everything I could to stay healthy both mentally and physically and I couldn’t do it! I switched to days and have been on day shift for about a year and a half now and it was the best decision I made. Night shift is not for the weak. You can get through it and find many ways to elevate everything but don’t be afraid to switch to day shift if it’s what would be best for you- always consider the option! Your health comes before anything else and definitely should be prioritized 🥰🥰 you got this girl!
Hope you’re doing better Maddie💕 You inspire me to have a self care routine for myself and to take care of myself despite a busy schedule! Love your videos😊
When you don't post Madi I go crazy cause I have nothing else to watch 😅
We have the same name I'm 15 but my dream job is be a labor and delivery nurse same with my best friend Madison
So this was very helpful ty
I love your videos so much, you are truly inspiring to me
I start night shift as a PCT in a week and I'll be doing my last semester of pre nursing at the same time and I gotta say I'm a little scared because I also have 2 kids
I can’t wait for the next vlog 💖💖
UGHHH so proud of you girlll!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey love! Thank you so much for your videos and all the work you put into it. I’m applying for an LVN program this spring and you’ve been a major inspiration✨💖
Do you use your phone to record majority of your videos?
Hey madiiiiii!!!!!!!!!! ...... ✨💕You've come so far girl....really lucky to follow you since day 1 ✨...it reaaaaalllly helped me and is still helping me 💕💕
Night shift is so rough. It’s never good for the mental health long term. I know someone’s gotta do it lol but recently changing to day shift after being on night for 4 years is so nice. I was constantly drained and it was so hard making time for not only myself but my friends/family too. Although it’s nice to be able to plan stuff during the day it’s also rough coming in at night and finishing out your shift on your day off. It’ll work out though 🤞🏽
when the commercial played I thought it was a RUclips ad till I seen your face I was like one I know her 😂💕
Night shift has been a hard adjustment. I am a new grad ER nurse working nights. But they are so good at making sure us night shifters get 3 in a row so its easier on us! My advice is to, on your last day of nights, to only sleep like 3.5 or 4 hours that morning. Then get up and get outside whether its just to sit outside or to go for a walk just to get some sunshine on your face and some vit D. Then its easier to go to bed that night. I do take melatonin on that night too to help me go to sleep after working 3 nights. Lean on your coworkers and ask how they do it and what works well for them. You got this!
FOMO is real. Especially on Night Shift! It was very tough for me and I decided to finally move to day shift - best decision ever because even if you work on holidays, you still get to come home & be with family / friends.. your feeling are valid babe!!! 🫶🏼 sending good vibes xoxo
Hi madi. Love watching your videos to see how you’re progressing in your new role. I’ve been on nights since December and what worked for me is choosing to work my 3 days back-to-back and trying to get 3-4 days off if I can. But it’s exhausting pushing full time hours into 3 days so I decided to go part-time. It’s the quality of life for me. Hope you find what works for you.
I agree having that many days off is the best way. For me I would always push myself and work 4-5 days and have 1 day off. That’s rough.
@@wellno3731 wow. Hats off to you! Nurses who work 4-6 shifts back to back are strong 💪🏾. Personally I’ve never done so and never will lol 😂
Girl same!! since taking the nclex and orientation I’ve been so tired on all my days off and honestly haven’t done anything all summer. It’s draining but yeah as a new grad a work life a balance is hard at first
just ordered the casetify yoga skeleton case yesterday 🥰
Omg congratulations you have Inspired me so much
Nights in a hospital is very mentally draining nights anywhere is mentally draining. I know someone has to do it obviously but I can’t recommend it to others after doing it for like almost 5 years.
Hii Madi missed your videos glad that you posted one ily
Love the vlog!! so happy that you posted!! i hope everything is going well.
I love your vlogs Madison🤩I missed you🥳😇
I missed you and yr vlogs 🥺♥️
So happy to see you again! (:
lmaooo the commercial took me out, so cute 💗
Hey love! Do you think at any point you would be able to change to an 8 hour shift…3-11pm? Maybe that would help a little more with work-life balance? I’m going to have to try the gel for my eye brows and the glow screen. Thanks for sharing❤️.
Can you please do a updated skin care routine!! Your skin is so clear and beautiful!!! ❤️❤️ love your videos so much!!!
Where is your badge from 😍
That new grad summer on nights was rough lol that was me in 2018. I felt depressed and not myself. It gets better I promise..get on that days list if you can 🥰
I missed you 😭😭😭😭😭 I’ve been rewatching old videos till you came out with a new one
I just found your Chanel! I just submitted my application for nursing at LCCC today! Hopefully I get in!
I feel where you’re coming from with the night shift I did it for a year and I got three days off in a row but that morning you’re off after that but you’re still working that entire day goes to sleeping and then on the rest of your days you’re trying to relax sleep be active in life and attend to the things you didn’t get a chance too due to working and sleeping . It takes a toll on your body after awhile which my boss warned me about who worked nights prior but I still chose to do so. Did you chose to do nights ? Or that’s the shift they put you on . Out of curiosity
Do you think about working from home like be a home health care nurse… idk I’m just putting suggestions out
Hi madi been following you since day one !!! What apps do U use to edit or photos and videos?
Do you use heat protection
I’m so freakin happy , sorry I’m late but I had homework to do lol
