Wow, stop motion is just amazing. It's like you have these material like some fabric, sticks and stuff like that and you can use all of them the way you like, building, cutting, gluing, coloring, molding. And so the characters and environment are created, all by the insane amount of creativity, passion and efforts. I hope stop motion will grow strongly and get appreciated more. Such a great form of art.
I would love to meet the entire team behind Laika! I really appreciate their work, down to the smallest detail! Their movies saved my life. You done know how ugly it gets when you hit depression... but every time I watch their movies specially coraline (my fav) I forget about everything!
This is such a huge fulfillment of a need I have for knowing the technical details about how these types of films are done . I have been fascinated by this all my life and even made a crude stop action film of my own , at one point . I still hope I'll have a chance to work within this genre someday .
Some. Are kept in exhibits, and other times auctioned off for charity events. I got curious to see how much a puppet or a prop might have cost... THERE IS AN EGGS BABY PUPPET BEING SOLD ON EBAY FOR $15,000.00.
A fascinating glimpse into the specific costuming challenges involved in stop-motion animation, especially fabric scale and how to use differing textures to appear similar to human sized garments.
This process is so intriguing. I’m glad that I ran across this video in my own research. I love her passion for creating each item and her work in general. It comes across in every design. Brilliant!!!🌟✨🌟
This is an odd thought, i wonder how they decide where each character model is going to go after each film, cos it looks like they keep them around as reference or even ornaments, i wonder if each department try to bag different characters to keep in their department? Haha x
I actually dont think that is a good idea, because Neil Gaiman has not written a second book, and it might not feel the same as the original. Coraline should be left as is.
All the puppets have lines above their mouths. This is so they can switch the mouths and give them different emotions. However, I do not see the lines in the movies. How is this?
This is so motivating and inspiring. Working for LAIKA is like a dream
or hell
Martyna Koleniec Same here!
Martyna Koleniec I
i see what you did there
I agree i have a good spin off seires related to coraline
I adore stop motion animation. every film is just so full of creativity and magic.
I saw a lot of stop motion movies from my childhood days in upstate New York back in the 00’s
Ya know Aardman & Laika
Looking at the reference near the end, I just realised how the other mother from Coraline closely resembles a goliath beetle.
this is wonderfully fascinating. stopmotion captivates me.

4:42 they had stuff from kubo and the two strings in this video a couple of months before it came out
stop motion movies take years to make
vooshnog Kubo took 5 in total
Laika:
*chooses hardest movies to stop motion with and need a heap of special effects*
Disney:
*chooses ones that should most likely be stop motion*
Wow, amazing. What a great designer.
That dedication makes it even more beautiful.
Curious Question. What happen to the dolls after the film?
Gernel Filipinas probably set up for display in the studio
Gernel Filipinas they are auctioned off actually they probably keep some
Thanks for reply guys

Really makes you appreciate stop motion pieces all the more.

when Shear Dedication and Pure Creativity meets...
this is alot of work?!_!_!_!
Stop motion is the most tedious of animation.
Does anyone know the music at the beginning?
How do I make these characters? Or do I need to purchase from somewhere according to my requirement?
👍
i want that job
Like this. Great videos
what a cool problem to have
im going to college to animate stop motion animation
1:04 What The Heck!?!? What does that have to do with anything?
Ikr
please do Coraline 2
please
dragon Newar i think one was good for the story :0

+Jane Wheeler you're right it could feel different than the first
Laika doesn't do sequels.

Wj11jam they probably remove it with the computer
Wj11jam is that...Lenny-azazel?
Trent2998
Why, yes. Yes, it is.
Wj11jam nice
Yes, according to Cinefex the seam lines were removed by computer in post-production.
I don't know what is easier. Making small and tiny dresses or jeans for puppets or making big outfits for other people.
I think thats the movie Coraline
so she does paper collage illustration, textiles laboratory, research library, and still missing : broomstick cupboard
my dream is to work for a stopmotion studio like laika
Laika is the next aardtion the studio who made Wallace and gromit
what id give for a one on one interview with deb
kubo!!
why not make a new Corrine movie
*i refuse to believe coraline is a stop motion*
Is deborah bristolian?
Would be nice if animators created a stop motion movie that was beautiful instead of always macabre.
can I say something😁
