A couple years ago I took a gamble and ordered a baby blue Bossman. Price + shipping it was delivered to my front door for about $200. I was so impressed with the quality and playability the next year I ordered a bright orange Southern Belle (their Tele copy $99 + shipping) and play it just as much if not more often than any of my Strats. The HLK guys are cool to chat with over the phone and I've always received excellent customer service! I highly recommend this company.
Awesome! As soon as I can afford it, I definitely wanna get either the SG style or a southern belle. Definitely without a doubt, some cool dudes that make a killer product.
I just bought that exact same guitar from their site. So I definitely appreciate you making the vid so I can see and hear what im getting. Thanks brother!
Good luck on the spider, I got one about a month ago, and the setup was horrible, but I just fixed it myself. Still a bit of fret buzz but still a good guitar. 🤘
That sounds so amazing, I was worried about the quality at that price, this just made my decision about getting one. I'm trying to decide between the bright green or blue Bossman
I've got a Spyder and a Southern Bell. The guitars are solid, I did switch the pickups but that's a personal thing, nothing wrong with the ones in them. My suggestion is to shop exclusively with the deals, especially the clearance stuff
@@HardLuckStudios Don't know if you like the Tele style, but my Southern Bell is awesome. I put some Dragonfire Texas Blues pickups in it and it sounds as good as my Fender USA strat. I am not paid by HLK or Dragonfire to say this lol
@@HardLuckStudios I think you'll be happy with them. The only reason I don't play my Spyder more is because that thing is heavy, like 13lbs. Good for a song or 2 but not a full set
i just found a spyder at guitar center. the neck is literally baseball bat which is my favorite. and the action is absolutely perfect. i will buy it next time i go in. and i love the review, finally someone who isn't a try hard just mimicking the same boring sound as literally everyone else.
Looks nice. Sounds solid. Seen some reviews complaining about bad wiring and bad finishes. Honestly, I think this is just what you run into with budget Chinese guitars. Quality Control is almost non-existent, so you could get a perfect one or a lousy one and will probably get one somewhere in between. Their $20 restocking fee means you're taking a chance, but they pay to ship I think, so fair enough. I'm looking out for a couple right now and hoping for the best.
@Mr. Cartman I believe you're mistaken. Easy mistake to make. "Designed in SoCal" isn't the same as Made in America. Many guitar makers design their lower-end models in America and have them manufactured in Mexico, Korea, China, etc. 🙂 I haven't looked at their stock in a couple years now, but in this case (and in the case of their competitors) I believe all or nearly all of their instruments are made overseas. There's a reason they put "Designed in SoCal" on their website header instead of "Made in SoCal." Cheers!
Just got through watching a guy unbox a H.L.K Bossman in an off white. For the money and vibe was a pretty good deal for the price. But right out of the box The fretts had a little buzz to them. A little need for some love on the fret board with a level dress and crowning. But the pickups sounded raw dog amazing! But for the price I would not order one in white,,,🙀that red one you got looks a.most a pink with the binding. Nice guitty for the price. And good vid playing sounded real nice.
Update//just got my Flame Maple Emerald Bossman with a hard shell case. It is absolutely amazing for the cost. Sounds great everything works perfectly..no issuse with the electronics and the finish is flawless. I would recommend HLK for low cost quality. I have my eye on a couple more they offer for the near future in the mean time I will enjoy playing this big time. It sounds and plays amazingly.
No problems with the guitars. I can tell you from personal experience the basses are pure shit. Watch lowend lobster review on them as well. The basses are garbage
My son and I are both Hardluck Kings Enthusiasts aka Rat Bastard Crew! We both have a Bossman, he has a Maverick and I have a Lady Luck and an Outlaw. He ran across your vid today and we watched it. You do a good demo! I've done a few HLK demos myself. I heard you mention the 7 string Bossman in the Hot Rod version with pewter skull hardware. Which, by the way, they charge "a bit extra for". So, here's the purpose of this comment - besides, well done! I found out through my Reverb.com store, who the dude is that makes that hardware. His name is John Guenther and he owns a business called Creepy Pewter. He has a website you can order from also a Reverb store called Skull Parts and he's on Facebook. I turned my sons Emerald Flame Bossman into an amazing looking Hot Rod series (with some extra parts that HLK doesn't use on theirs as well as the ones they do). If you want to turn your Magenta baby into a Hot Rod Model, check out John's stuff. Since I cant post a photo of Cody's guitar, I invite you to my FB profile and check out my vids on RUclips. And feel free to buy more Hardluck Kings Guitars! RatBastard4Life!

@@HardLuckStudios awwe , heyhey Brotherman...I own 5 HLKs'...love the Bossman.. ,the Spiders are sweeet...2015 series
@@RJDCR hell yeah, eventually I'll get another bossman
Damn, I would love a 7 string Bossman! I own a HLK tele though and really love it.
I just bought that exact same guitar from their site. So I definitely appreciate you making the vid so I can see and hear what im getting. Thanks brother!
Hell yeah no problem!! Quick heads up, the knobs might be a bit stiff, so over a short period of time, they should be pinky adjustable. 🤘
@@HardLuckStudios good to know! Did you have to mess with anything outside of tuning it up?
Aside from tuning, I had to adjust the action a little bit
@@TheBackRowShow Do you like it? I just had to adjust the truss bar on mine with the allen wrench than came with the guitar.
I just ordered a Bossman in flame maple green and a hard shell case I cant wait to get it.

mann that green is kool

just ordered my spider / firebird guitar im super excited

Hahaha wow! Yeah that is pretty stout. I still want one though, even if it counts as exercise.
Have you blacked out the hardware on that bad boy yet? ✌❤🤘
not yet

Man I bought one just to be insulted I said the thing was ok and it weight.is10 pounds
Mine is extremely heavy I can hardly hold it I can tell yours is lighter it must be the year
Maybe, not sure about the exact weight, probably 7 or 8 lbs., but my Harley Benton SC-400 is like a ton hahahaha

Competition with Harley Benton...
Pretty soon they will be giving them away!
I can only hope so lol, I need more guitars.

This Bossman is still my #1 for recording as far as tuning stability and tone.

Awesome! The only slight issue I had with mine is the knobs were pretty hard to turn, other than that, yeah it's flawless.
What software are you using?
Reaper for recording, Amplitube 4 for amp and cab sims, EZDrummer 2, SSD4 and EZMIX 2 for the other stuff.
Sounds pretty bad to me. Needs better pickups
I definitely agree that they need to step their pickup game way up, however, for the price, it's still not a bad deal.
Nice
