Every team ever , that eventually won a Superbowl had to go through a building process to get there. This is the first Lions management team that didn't just pick a few stars to boost ticket sales , and have no seasonal success year in and year out. The Lions organization is very serious about critical improvement with a legit goal to win it all.
The problem is they’re in a tough division now unlike the Patriots of year who had three horrible teams year and year out, which gave them an average of five wins in their own division that’s not likely to happen to the Lions
Also evident via their first draft pick being a generational offensive lineman in Penai Sewell. The same old Lions from my youth would take only either wide receivers or quarterbacks with their first pick.
@Scrotom What an absolute clown 2008: Cherilus (OT) 2010: Suh (DT) 2011: fairley (DT) 2012: Reiff (OT) 2013: Ansah (DE) 2015: Tomlinson (OG) 2016: Decker (OT) 2018: Ragnow (C) Your post is literally the essence of dumb. By the way. Holmes drafted a WR, TE, RB, CB and LB with top 35 picks. What an absolute clown.
Madman Brad Holmes is a genius. He no doubt consults MCDC and the coaches, but his head on the chopping block for failed draft picks. His draft rate success among the top 3 in the league. One Pride.
Well that would be wamo jamo. Hes gonna light the nfl on fire this season. Mcdc has a 90% ota analysis rate, and he recently raved about jamo in an interview. Bodes well.
Jamo and LaPorta will have big time years and potentially leading the league at their position. Gibbs and D Mo will both have a great season similar to last season. #OnePride
Jamo will go off. Seems like he has a chip on his shoulder and finally ready for a full season. Sources say he’s a lot better at finding open space. Can’t wait to see it
To me Jamo is a rookie lol but I’m serious. This is Jamos breakout season. As far as T A goes I really hope he’s going to kill it. With all of the draft picks our Defense should be stellar.
Completely agree. This off-season's approach to the WR corp tells us they are VERY comfortable with what they have. To me, that means that ARSB, Jamo, Lif, and DPJ is what we are fielding, and I expect Jamo to be the clear 2nd WR and double what he did last year, going from 24 for 354 to around 50 for 750-800.
Only thing is can Goff really hit Jamo at full speed, I heard that they have been working hard after and before practice to get their timing down, but I can’t wait to see what Booker can do with this offense;and I love that we can afford to let him heal and learn from Goff,Booker
REALLY want JMO to br8out. i feel Laporta gonna keep elevating no matter what. So that leaves me personally Gibbs or Jamo. I feel by mid season Jamir will be our main RB. he already has a crazy highlight reel. SO i wanna see Jmo be tht guy that has a amazing year.
JaMo is my pick for a break out year. TA is going to perform well, but don’t sleep on Davis who can be our CB1 while TA is learning. After all he is a rookie. This D can easily be a top 15, 12, or even top 10, or higher D in the NFL. Paired with this Offense, we could easily see game after game of scoring 30-35 points while holding opponents to under 20-25 points. Which will leave them atop the NFC. Let’s Go Lions. #OnePride Super Bowl or Bust!!! Woooooooo!!!
Gibs can be a huge star on this offense, but he needs to have the ball as a 1st option RB, and need be used to his strength with his quickness not power, leave that to Montogomery.
Everyone forgets were going on year 4 with same 3 coaches , san fran starting over at defensive coordinator, so this continuity is something not talked about much
Technically, we're on Year 4. But we only have 5 players from year 4 left. That is called a complete teardown. Group has done it miraculously in 2 years there's. The first year because we had no talent. Thank you. To the Patricia and company, giving up our talent to his buddies in New England and gives us nothing in return.
Let's pump the brakes on this being one of the leagues best Defenses. That's a big statement, considering, they were regularly allowing opponent's their season best receiving yards week in and week out. But, that said, they don't need to be great. With that Offense of Ben Johnson's in its third year, the Defense just needs to be competent.
Nah this defense is going to be a literal buzz saw. Find me a weakness please I promise they have the solution. They could not play man (aka giving up yards because you’re in zone) this year they are. That’s without factoring in rookies. That’s with amik Carlton branch iffy and Kerby out there you’re 1000% better in the back end. They added dj reader and were going to have James Houston back. Davenport is way better than Charles Harris. You can have high expectations for this defense. Paschal is coming along really well. Barnes is a stud. Jack in year 2. Alim is going to have 10+ sacks. Book mark this comment and we’ll catch up week 10.
He only fell cause of all the QB,s that got drafted ahead of him as he is top 5 and answer to your other Question is jamison is gonna shine as last year was basically a rookie year hes top 3 In speed in nfl so watch out as he gave a glimpse in the nfc championship game
Jamo and very surprisingly, People's Jones will get off thus year because they will double-team and plan around defending St. Brown and Sam LaPorta......!
Detroit offense #1 or #2 Detroit defense #3 or #4. I know I'm dreaming big. It should be safe to say offense and defense in the top 5. The first 4 games Detroit will be 2-2 and finish with 14-3. You can take that to the bank only to read a sign they closed 10 years ago. When it comes to predicting the Lions. Nobody is a 💯 like me at getting them all WRONG!!!
I literally an not amazed because they literally don’t even have pads yet so it’s literally getting out ahead of your skis because it’s literally happened a million times (not literally) before and we will literally see how it shakes out in the season, so you’re literally wrong about literally everyone is not amazed. Literally.
Even the most hopeful Lions fans who’ve been reserving judgement are going to have to start being more critical if he doesn’t make a big stride this season. I still think he can. But of not this year, it won’t be easy to defend him anymore.
Incorrect. The entire 3rd quarter and well into the 4th, we couldn't catch a football or tackle a ballcarrier. Pretty sure those are important parts of the game? Go watch the full broadcast, not the highlights. We stopped playing football on the field. Coach was probably just reacting to the bulljive that he was seeing in the 3rd! Omg.
The same coaching decisions that got us there. And the coaching decisions that drew up plays that worked if the WR catches the ball. The secondary and bad drops lost that game. Not the coaching.
"Kirby Joseph, doing some interesting things as well" you mean like taking out opposing players by going horizontal, head first into their ankles when they aren't looking? That dude is on some sucker sh*t. Kinda blows my mind (like opponents knees are getting blown) that AG or coach Campbell hasn't got in his ear. "Hey young Kirb. You know that is only bringing some really bad karma to our whole operation here, right? Can you just make a tackle, like a man?" 🤬
They all were considered legal hits. No fine was given to him for those hits. CB/DB/S are going up against bigger WR/TEs with a "hit"zone from the chest to the legs. Trying to tackle a player above the legs seem to always be a missed or broken tackle. Aiming for the legs is the best option in some instances.
Maybe Mullen and Stafford shouldn’t have thrown the “murder ball” over the middle if they don’t want their 245 lb. TE’s to get chopped down by a safety whose job it is to get them on the ground.
Every team ever , that eventually won a Superbowl had to go through a building process to get there. What a horrible post.
Jack Campbell will double his impact especially on pass, these guys are studs I can't believe I'm watching the LIONS
Wild and crazy good stuff. Let's Go Lions!
Jhamyr is about to go off!!
Big facts.
Probably will have to debate if he’s the best back ITL next year… this offense is pure gasoline. He’s the biggest mismatch of all IMO.
Again…
Gibbs hands down
1000 yrds. rushng/1000 trds passing
I think it's going to be Jamo, but honestly the WHOLE TEAM is going to take a leap. These are very exciting times to be a Lions fan 😀

Jamo is gonna explode. 1100 yards and 12td’s. Mark it, book it, the WolvaLion said it. Onepride, Go Blue!
Terion is sounding like branch last year.. good think
Jamo is going nuclear this year.
Jamo and LaPorta will have big time years and potentially leading the league at their position. Gibbs and D Mo will both have a great season similar to last season. #OnePride
Would like to see Mosely have a solid productive year as a rotation player. He was very good before sequential ACL tears
I’m the most excited I’ve been since 1968. I do wish we had another pass rusher to complement Aiden Hutch though.
Jamison Williams. If he reaches his potential, hed be the most.

Like the kid from Bama. Looks like a home run. J Will has to step up to help out the other guys( Laporta and st. Brown)

Jameson Williams
I'm hoping we can get a little more from Jamir Gibbs this year Go Lions
#9 may be the new kick-off rules star?

Cornerbacks shouldn't take extra risks to get interceptions unless an interception is really, really needed, or if it really, really isn't needed.
Jamo and Hooker.. It’s time for both of them to step up or step out. Might sound harsh on Hooker but who’s our backup?..
I think that Jamo will have an break out season
Jamos gonna have a pro bowl all pro season
If terrion end up being 🔒down it’s over for the rest of the league 🤧🤫
I think jamo is going to take off and show cavuto he doesn't know what he is talking about
I think Gibbs hands down brake out year 1000 yards rushing, 1000 yards. Passing

If the lions back end could have made some plays the lions could have easily been in the superbowl
They did. Unfortunately, they made plays for the 49ers. That facemask assist from Vildor was a heck of a play
😆

IMHO, D-line was bigger weakness than secondary in 2023. They need more QB pressures to help CBs do their job. I hope new DTs stay healthy & help.
