Yeah, the peak to peak‘s hike was absolutely awesome, missing all these great views from there. 😊 Unfortunately very crowded. 🙈 You guys were really lucky with the weather. I’m in Madeira at the moment. Arrived yesterday. I have been ripped off by the owner of the apartment I am staying at. Claims I didn’t pay the deposit for the accommodation. Insisted I pay the full amount in cash or no keys. I have proof I did pay. Simply ignores my messages. Such a shame. Been really looking forward to my holiday and this has happened. Can’t think of anything else and so disappointed that there are people like this in the world. Now all I’ll remember about Madeira is how my money was stolen, instead of the beautiful scenery and nice culture.
Hi Simon, I’m sorry to hear what you went through. Have you gone to the police? There must be some form of legal way to get your money back. You could also report to the agency, assuming it was reserved online. Hope it works out for you, don’t give up on Madeira just yet ;)
Hey Simon, try not to choose to focus on that situation, I know its hard. Madeira is so, so beautiful with such nice people so get out there and enjoy it, I'm sure one of Jeff's tours will turn around your experience. Get out in the nature and till soon forget your worries :)
Thanks both. It’s interesting, I decided to contact the problem landlord and told him that I’d been advised to contact the police regarding this matter. This seemed to hit a nerve with him as he wouldn’t stop messaging me last night. He comes across as quite aggressive and wanted to meet face to face at 11pm. I explained that I wanted all communication to be done through the site I used to book. I have contacted them and asked if they would intervene. He actually admitted via messaging that he had found the payment I made but for some reason it was ‘pending’. I certainly haven’t had any notification of this and both my PayPal account and credit card show the payment was made. I also went today to do the Levada do Furado hike using all the details supplied on a previous video. It was great! Thanks so much for the info, Jeff and crew. Got some great pics and videos and the weather was fantastic! I’ve decided not to pursue the stolen money issue anymore whilst here but wait until I return to the UK. I’ve waited so long to come to Madeira, have been booked twice before but had to cancel both times due to C19 issues. I’m resolved to enjoy the time whilst I’m here. Thanks again both for your comments.

Did the peaks hike after sunrise but it got all clouded and only cleared up at the end. But that still was one of the best hikes we’ve done so far. 👌🏻
You never know what you’re gonna get up there, if you got the sunrise, I’m sure that alone was well worth it!

Yes the last hike is the Pico do Areiro to Pico Ruivo hike :)) enjoy!!
We did the full peak to peak there and back option on this hike. Took a while but we'll worth it for the Poncha and pastel da natas at the end!! 😄
