Destrose are the pioneer of girls metal imo a lot of current successful metal groups who consist of women were in destrose like Mary's blood, Lovebites, mardelas, fate gear has rerecorded a lot of the songs that were on the one destrose album and this is one of the best once though I prefer the original version, sky killer is also a banger. There is just so much women talent in metal that they've kinda carved a subgenre with a distinct style that started with destrose
A TV show called K-ON! about girls who have a rock band had a lot to do with it. I have been told that J students are required to choose either sports or music as a study and most girls choose music. The first female rock band that had as much skill as the men may have been Show Ya back in the 1980's. Middle school bands and orchestras in Japan are about as good as music college bands and orchestra in the USA. It's a completely different world.

I was listrening to the Destrose version and it seems the lyrics are different. I do like this version better even though Marina is one of my favorite Japanese vocalists.

I think there are many rock music related school projects in Japan
They have music clubs in school (pop, jazz and orchestra) and 70% of the members are girls.
Pretty much just a massive population density.
The end result is even niche interests have a lot of people following them.
