As a glasses wearer anyway , I absolutely love the glasses trend - used to feel “nerdy” and thought my glasses would take away any sense of chic/glamour , but loving this new praise for the glasses style being more sexy and high fashion 🥰
Yeah, and I didn’t expect that specific rectangular glasses shape to come into style. I used to have glasses like that but it was when hipster glasses were getting popular and my glasses felt dated lol, idk how to feel about the fact they’re considered cute now
I love how there’s so many more cute glasses to buy now. I have a heart shaped pair and I love them. People are always shocked when I tell them they’re prescription.
I know this is so annoying of me but I’m an Aquarius moon and rising. But the small glasses I’ve been wearing for 2,5 years. And it being trendy right now feels like a part of my identity is taken away😫. I always have this when I wear unique clothing and it is a part of me. When it becomes trendy I get so frustrerend. Idk how to cope😖
Imo for fairycore/mermaidcore shoes the best way to go for it is to consider what would they wear if they had to adapt suddenly to a "human" lifestyle. I think that the kind of sandals that lace up along the leg instead of a modern closure work well because they look so delicate and have a primitive yet ethereal feeling to them. Buckles and clasps really take away the mythical/ethereal vibe. Looking at historical footwear archives would probably give you some inspiration
I agree. Fairies are traditionally depicted with little ankle boots (pixie boots) or slip on flats, and sandals would also work as long as they are delicate. Slingbacks, peeptoes, also cute imo
@@riverAmazonNZ Yes!!! things that have an element of structure, but aren't overly complex. Adornments like pearls, leaves, gems, etc would elevate them too! Magically handmade is how I would put it.
I don’t have tiktok and have been getting the Japanese horror game girl aesthetic on my Depop and was like ‘that’s oddly specific and random but so cute’😂 so funny to realize it’s a trend
something that may be interesting for a video is trying to restyle old micro-trends you got sick of since i feel like there have been so many in the past three years. Also i love your videos sm they always brighten up my day!
One thing with lower-rise, longer, loose styles of shorts and jorts is that they can really muck with the visual length of your leg. As someone who already has short legs, I end up feeling like Mrs. Potato Head.
Honestly , IMO, some of the fashions I just correlate too much with the poo times of the early 2000s that they just don’t appeal to me. Others are just because they look good on celebrities or influencers. Some I just associate with certain fashion subcultures so I don’t feel like they’re for me. For example, jorts I heavily associate with Chicano culture or African American style subcultures.
@@lauraah47 anyone can wear jorts obvi I’m just saying bc I associate it to other subcultures I can’t personally wear it. Not saying I’m gatekeeping jorts lmao
SAFETY WARNING: Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up about football jerseys. They're really popular right now because of the World Cup and how easy they are to thrift, with aesthetics like blockcore, and blockette , but if you're planning to travel to Europe or other places where football is a big deal, it's important to know which teams are popular there. Some people take football really seriously and there have even been cases where people have been hurt or killed just because they were wearing the wrong team's jersey. I don't think that clothes should ever be a reason for violence, but it's important to be aware of these things.
When I heard 'japanese horror game' aesthetic, I immediately thought of, like, Jill Valentine or Heather Mason-type looks, more late 90's or y2k stuff. I was very surprised to see all the fatal frame references instead of Claire Redfield and her hot pink denim lol
@@sxmvp The material varies from game to game, but in resident evil 2, she's wearing pink denim shorts. I thought the vest was denim too, but the concept art describes it as nylon
love the video! i cant help but think that a lot of the trends right now, esp current jorts, blokette, and some coquette trends will be looked back on with such embarrassment. like i love the creativity and the vibes, but i just *know* that the popular opinion will turn and turn hard on these styles, similar to how we looked at the 80s and y2k fashion. theyre not just gonna go out theyre going to be hated
Mermaid core shoes for me would be some strappy sandal stilettos, very 2000s era, sparkly, the kind that would wrap around your legs a few time, they have that weightless look to them but still have the glitz of the mermaid core aesthetic
"It's kinda giving she's excited that black butler is making a return" how dare you call me out like this I literally brought out the atelier boz roland jacket last week🤣
The Japanese horror game protagonist aesthetic is so good, definitely what I’ve been leaning toward I agree with you on it being for anime lovers because misa and nana are some of my style inspos and this aesthetic is pretty close
i'm a huge fan of the jorts trend! i'm not super fond of showing off my whole leg but when it's hot out wearing full jeans isn't always the best idea. so i finally got a pair of jorts and i love them and already wanting more!
Yess i feel like i don‘t even look that „good“ in them like they are not even flattering but that is kind of what i love about them? I just feel cool and safe and and like i can leave the house without being as sexualised as when i wear a dress (wow that‘s kinda sad now that i think about it lol)
idk if you're sick of them but tbh prompt based videos like "what i'd wear to ____" are still so so fun to me and specially i like yours SO much, would love to see another one if you're on the mood xoxo
id love to see a clamp inspired look book. cardcaptor sakura, tsubasa reservoir chronicles, and xxxholic ruled my world as a teen and clamp always killed it with the outfit designs. especially cardcaptor sakura, i always loved that her magical girl costume would change for every fight
immediatly when we the video started youre in that funky, cool af jersey and the ribbons look sooo cute with it! you never disappoint even before/between the actual looks for the video! idk how you keep raising the bar on another note: i think you did something like that in a video once but would you ever do a whole lookbook inspired by skins (uk) characters? its not exactly your style but it does have some elements like many accessories so i think it would be a fun challenge! no worries if not and thanks for reading lol
also idk about mermaid but the appropriate shoe for fairy is probably a lace up ballet flat/sandal but maybe in an earthier tone or even with some flower details so its less actual ballet pointe shoe
I really enjoy jorts. But not the short jean shorts, I just think the long version is cute and chic. Also when you were talking about your pinstripe pants, it reminded of me how much I love mine. And LOVE red shoes. I have a burgandyish pair that are ballet flats with a heel basically and I get so much wear out of those.

Love this entire vid, as always!! Side note - totally get you with the kpop/sports thing, I’m a huge motorsport fan (F1, MotoGP, etc.) and kpop stan and I find them so similar too 😂
The Japanese horror protag has been on my fyp like crazy! I'm insanely in love with it, and honestly have started taking some major inspo from characters like Ashley Graham lmao
Out of everything here, the jorts are the only ones that I would personally pursue. Also, omg, the Angel Blue clock is soooo cute! I see it on Pinterest all the time, I’m so jealous 😣😣
7:19 I always like to wear gladiator type sandals, or just any tie/wrap up shoes. I’m definitely more on the “fairycore” side of things but I find that any sort of ropeish looking shoes work out well. I have a pair of shoes from Call It Spring, I think they are called the Jayda or maybe Jaya shoes.
Most of the y2k trends I'm just gonna hate forever no matter how many videos I see of them. Idk it just triggers something in me, it's like war flashbacks. For example the slim reading glasses are some war flashback I swear it's like travelling back in time
