Given how physically and mentally challenging the RM training is I'm royally impressed how Mr Timmins could find the time and strength to gather his thoughts each day and put his travails down to paper. Still reading his book, and it's captivating! 🙂

I"m on my third read on this. I"m training during the RMR and I listen to this before bed, and during my workouts.

I had toyed with buying this book's, and listening to Timmins, convinced me it's time to buy!
I needed find a reason why to buy. Gareth Timmins describes himself as non academic, yet the clarity with which he describes things, with authenticity, and without prevaricatio, I enjoyed listening to man, convinced me, it's time to buy- I bought. c

Pertinent point about warriordom through self education leading to self actualisation and an existential life.a rewarding life if you have the courage to follow that path.great podcast this one.

Excellent podcast today Chris! Really enjoyed hearing both of your experiences and insight. I'm about 3/4 of the way through Gareth's book. Really a good read!
All the best to both of you brothers.
    Love from a US Marine.

Ok I admit it I’m an ex Scaley, (Royal Signals) & that 14 week basic at Helles Barracks in Catterick & 1990 was bad enough, later on in my career I (volunteered) for P Company & a year later I also went on the All Arms Commando Course), This is not & never will be like full Commando training but I think the powers that be decided if you had been in the military for a few years & also had basic 14 weeks of basic training I wish now SO wish I had kept a diary of events in training, I understand how it feels to puke on Tabs/Yomps & not being able to eat or even drink anything & getting over it. The fast longs runs imho where the worst, & at the end the PTIs just scream at you as a squad in thru the nose out thru the mouth deep breath’s & suck it up, stand up straight eventually you get over the nausea, & this is just at the start as a scaley. All I will say is that NONE of this is easy but I then had to be fit & have the mental fortitude to operate as a JTAC in tough conditions. I never got that I was just a piece of the puzzle 🧩 that solves the specialist comms issues & being trained to work with both the RMCs & The Paras & in my time that was 216 Para Signals Squadron, do “they” care for me now NO not one bit. I understand the demands the highers had, & at that small bit of time I was the piece that fit. Now, nobody gives a crap 💩 about you u & only just today I had a lady come to my house who is part of the NHS that’s designed to fit in the needs of the old, bold & few & she was the worse Drs/Senior nurse that I had ever dealt with, she should NOT a be in that job, she said hello, sat down at my kitchen table & just basically went thru all my injuries, issues & needs, her closing statement was, “so Mr Sutton, you have appointments for all the Drs I need to see, (I tried to interrupt but she held a hand up as if to say just wait n you can talk after I’ve said this) so Mr Sutton I see no reason for the NHSArmedServiceLiasonTeam, but I had LOADS of reasons, I’ve not been seen by a psychologist for 3 years, my next appointment has now been put back to Jan 2023, I have many injuries that I won’t go into atm but ALL of my appointments such as with the Drs that can help with pain etc etc etc, i as of today don’t have ANY appointments at all until Jan 2023, she just wanted me to sign something to which I say what’s the point, she got her shit together n left. Never have I seen one person SO not suited to her job. Once your out lads then I have to warn you that you now mean NOTHING to the system & the system wants you down, you will just get Foxtrot Oscars left, right & to ur front. There’s things so so much bigger than what you thought, & ppl within that system that knows their secrets for there part of it & they don’t care n want u down so they can have the nice car & house for keeping there bit nice n tidy. Also lads think about the jab, why r they so desperately pushing n pushing it now more than before, last I heard 2 weeks ago n I was surprised at that it’s no TWO jabs n something they call “a booster” now I’ve heard it 3 jabs & a booster, hang on I the that 3rd jab was a booster??? There’s something going on & it way above good ol Boris’s pay grade.

I thought there was a cause developing here, everybody who's been a services member knows the worth of the elite regiments but I feel you're both just sales men " books tea shirts and the likes. Good luck in your endeavours but you've lost me!

Do born again Christians still sin? 1 John 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. #RaceCodeChess
