Nice. It's funny how some of these simple, straight-piped exhausts with added resonators (i.e. yours, haha) sound miles better than systems costing upwards of $2k
Someday people will realize how big a ripoff catback kits are, thousands of dollars for a mediocre sound. I'm also running downpipes with bullet resonators on my 3.8, better and cheaper too.
You can get a secondary cat and muffler delete on these cars and get a damn near perfect sound. I since upgraded to NGT HF primaries, DCS secondaries with a custom 2.5" exhaust & Vibrant resonators (no mufflers). It's definitely a bit louder and the overall sound is more "complete", but it doesn't take much to make these sound good.
If you want this exact sound but not as loud (maybe 80% volume?), the Megan racing Exhaust for the 3.3 + a set of IMR America catless secondaries produces the same exact sound. I had the setup on my stinger before I sold it for a Newer G70. Truly is the best kind of setup for these cars.
Glad I found this video, could not find a single video of anyone with decent taste lmao. Running this similar setup on my 3.8 and wanted to know how it would sound on the 3.3T. Cheers.
So I was thinking of a very similar setup, Ark secondary downpipes, stock resonator delete, but keep stock mufflers to keep stock exhaust valves (on 2022 model). You think no secondary cats, no resonators but stock muffler would sound bad and that your setup would be better?
Your check engine light on? I have this thing about check engine lights. I don't like them being on so I'm trying to figure out if there's a bypass for it
No check engine light. I don’t think a secondary downpipe will trigger one, but I was tuned regardless so can’t remember now. (I sold this car late 2021)
@@StrictlyChow about a foot back from the exhaust tips, after the bend. You can see it in the clip when I sit down the camera behind the car in the parking garage
You mean the resonators in the midpipe? I wouldn’t recommend it. The midpipe doesn’t affect the sound that much, a muffler delete on its own sounds terrible. To me it’s important to have the aftermarket resonators in that muffler delete section.
Minimum to none. You definitely hear the exhaust but very little drone. I’m also always in sport and using paddles to shift which helps avoid any lugging from the transmission.
Arks secondary you can find on Khartunerz or Ark performances site. The stainless midpipe is a custom fab and so is the muffler delete. Resonators just look for any high quality bullet resonator and you’ll get the same effect(one for each side near the exit is what I recommend).
@The Aftermarket why are downpipes so important to a good sounding exhaust? I'd like to stick with removing and using 3rd party mufflers/resonators if possible
Yes, Lap3 has an option for crackles and pops. Check out my recent short I posted - I still get burbles/crackles from my exhaust setup without that programmed into my tune. Not as drastic/deliberate as if you purchase it though.
@@TheAftermarket1 I'm assuming that $1700 or so includes labor correct? I'm only asking because Jun BL + MBRP catback comes to around $1700...but without labor costs included of course. I'm interested in your setup.
@@lesterpickford6451 yeah, including labor. I also went full stainless on the custom midpipe, could easily knock $200 off that by not going stainless and get the same sound

Yeah bro, the Q50 (VR30) & the G70/Stinger (3.3T) don’t need expensive exhaust

Would it be possible to buy and ship the parts to s.korea?

Excuse my ignorance, but does Megan make a catback specifically for the G70? Or is it the exact same as stinger?
@@RyanG-pj9pb it's the same
It’s fine it interesting how vaguely similar to a Porsche this setup sounds.
