Yeah, its just the toxicity that is in this fandom. People attacking choreographer cos they think they can do better. Choreographer takes into account the members, what they will be singing at the time. Alot goes into choreo, not just throwing down a whole heap of dance moves then expect them to sing live and do all this for hours.

People tend to forget that blackpink have always been a performance focused group. Their choreos always take it into account the amount of breath the girls need to use to be able to execute the move but still sound good. Their vocal technique needs a lot of breathe support, which is why their voices sound richer compared to dance focused kpop group. The vocals of dance focused groups sounds “airy” because their choreography is so hard and demands a lot of energy which comes oxygen. As you also pointed out, YG groups don’t have extreme choreography but they make up for it with their charisma. Look at Bigbang, their choreography for bang bang bang is simple but when you watch their performances for that song, it’s still iconic. I mean their MAMA performance is phenomenal.

Dance breaks are longer and here lisa just got the center near the outro of the song for barely 5 seconds which is obviously not equal to dance break and absolutely not even near to solo dance break.
i think lisa tones it down when she does group dances bc when she dances like this she tends to stick out more and i remember her saying to trainees while teaching that in groups they should look more or less similar. but i think she just was really into this particular song and kinda did a little more than we’re used to

I don't know if u know him but he's a solo artist called Dawn (he's an ex member of a group called Pentagon). He's an amazing dancer, producer, composer and rapper! He made a comeback called dawndididawn and the choreo is fire (there is already a dance practice) and the dancers who dance with him are BBtrippin (choreographers and dance crew of Ateez).

The lilifilm choreographer doesn't participate in blackpink's choreo as a group. It was a special collaboration between Cheshir Ha and Lisa for lilifilm.
To me the choreo definitely has its moments but overall it doesn’t have the impact that the song itself has. Lisa makes it for me but she just owns anything she does so that’s not surprising lol.
This is why i watch your reactions because we seem to share the same braincell when it comes to BP. You just explained thoroughly what i wanted to say. When i watch this performance for the first time, my mouth dropped because i've never seen Lisa slay so hard when dancing their choreo. She always seem to hold back a little before. I noticed that Lisa did sort of incorporate some of her Lilifilm moves in BP's newer choreographies, as well, plus, I love all the girls' participation in them. Speaking of NCT, both BLACKPINK and NCT were nominated as Best Rookies (or Best New Artist in the west) in various award shows in SK in 2016, the year they debuted (they tied in the Asian Artist Awards).

im a dancer and in my opinion, this choreo is quite tiring because it comprises of many big actions and it must be done fluidly. I'm not saying its a bad choreo but i feel like the point choreo was disappointing and didnt portray the meaning of the song as well as it could have been done.

Dance breaks are longer and here lisa just got the center near the outro of the song for barely 5 seconds which is obviously not equal to dance break and absolutely not even near to solo dance break.
i think lisa tones it down when she does group dances bc when she dances like this she tends to stick out more and i remember her saying to trainees while teaching that in groups they should look more or less similar. but i think she just was really into this particular song and kinda did a little more than we’re used to
Yeah that's why she toned it down on the second perf. You can see the huge diff. I mean, in the promo (the album) Lisa's answers were Pretty savage in all her interviews. I think she got a little too excited to perform this. That's the reason why she trended after this performance because i think this was the first time she perform like this. I mean, even how she walk gives so much attitude.

When I first watched their comeback stages for Lovesick girls and pretty savage something seemed a little odd to me. Then I noticed that Lisa’s style is becoming more evident in every move. You can totally see how heavy the hiphop influence in her moves are

I don't know if u know him but he's a solo artist called Dawn (he's an ex member of a group called Pentagon). He's an amazing dancer, producer, composer and rapper! He made a comeback called dawndididawn and the choreo is fire (there is already a dance practice) and the dancers who dance with him are BBtrippin (choreographers and dance crew of Ateez).
The choreography isn't bad at all, we are just not used to BLACKPINK performing these kind of choreographies. Just let the dance choreography sink in for a while :)

The lilifilm choreographer doesn't participate in blackpink's choreo as a group. It was a special collaboration between Cheshir Ha and Lisa for lilifilm.
To me the choreo definitely has its moments but overall it doesn’t have the impact that the song itself has. Lisa makes it for me but she just owns anything she does so that’s not surprising lol.

And I understand why blackpink's choreo is more easier because Jennie (as u can see here & she stated many times before) doesn't have the stamina to sing and dance difficult choreo at the same time. So in a way, as group they have to compromise

Lisa said once when she's a mentor that a member should tone it down to match or to blend in the group's energy so I feel like that's what she's doing. Here, she doesn't hold back herself since it's her favorite song in the album and the choreography really suits her.

I noticed that Lisa did sort of incorporate some of her Lilifilm moves in BP's newer choreographies, as well, plus, I love all the girls' participation in them.
