Americans have mandated that the Trump Administration secure its borders and that citizens be prioritized over illegal aliens and subsidizing foreign country militaries/economies. Tariffs is only one of many methods that will be implemented to accomplish this. The Canadian and Mexican economies will suffer greatly because of the failure of their leaders to tighten boarder security with the United States. These tariffs will be very successful in achieving this mandate.

The issue with the tariffs is it is general tariffs not targeted and not combined with subsidies for industries that are currently not competitive. As a result it will only increase costs and hinder economic growth in sectors that rely on foreign imports. Let alone retaliatory tariffs will harm American exports causing a demand drop. If the tariffs become long term then the income made off of it will be negated as trade reorganises to avoid the markets where tariffs exist, thus reducing the revenue. In which case the plan to rely on tariff income to lower taxes will become impossible tariffs are not inherently bad, but the way Trump has gone about it is idiotic. Permanent trade surpluses are a bad thing: you give away precious consumer goods in exchange of unspendable dollars. EU should redirect its US surpluses towards domestic consumption or whatever else.
I saw Trump saying the US has been mistreated because Europe is not buying enough from the US. It's hardly surprising with most things there costing so much, and people in the US also wanting things cheap. Adding tariff will only make things even more expensive. Canada should start selling more of their crude oil to places like India, Trump says he's already got plenty (although 60% is imported from Canada).

It's nice seeing how people don't understand how tarries actually work. The tarriffs are designed to force growth of DOMESTIC production so there isn't a need for forigen goods. This is also being combined with reducing the OVERTAXATION of US citizens meaning they have more free money to purchase goods. Most companies will EAT those tariffs and make up for it in bulk from US consumers. Countires that introduce tariffs and DON'T do anything to relieve domestic tax burden defeat the purpose of tariffs.

Now let me see how this new government will justify increase of defense spending while opposition is actively antagonizing third of the population...

The US will never be competitive in manufacturing unless the legal and regulatory environment changes. But, most politicians are lawyers so the prospects are very bleak..
The Panama Canal issue seems to have been resolved. Panama won't renew its Belt and Road agreement with China.
Excellent analysis
Appreciate your take on this Weeb!
US will hace a SMO, Special Mexico Operation?
All our vehicle production has left, and before people go " well it'll be more expensive if they move it back to the USA" it already is more expensive than ever, and the cars are WORSE than ever.
The fall the empire will be quick this time
Americans have mandated that the Trump Administration secure its borders and that citizens be prioritized over illegal aliens and subsidizing foreign country militaries/economies. Tariffs is only one of many methods that will be implemented to accomplish this. The Canadian and Mexican economies will suffer greatly because of the failure of their leaders to tighten boarder security with the United States. These tariffs will be very successful in achieving this mandate.
There's a country on each side of a border. The reality is that the US did not secure its border. Stop blaming your neighbors for that.
There are tarrif announcements/threada against allies in the pacific as well, for example TSMC from Taiwan
That's hardly compatible with becoming an AI superpower, or whatever.
What if Europe will choose to side with Russia against US?
That's a bit like asking the sun to rise in the West, not east.
They quite possibly will in the future.
That's a good point.
That would be natural, geographically it's Eurasia, it's already connected. "Europe" receives cheap resources, Russia gets their, especially German, cooperation. This however is a nightmare to the foggy island people, Britain (for them it's gg), and further away USA. The "leaders" of the EU would rather sink Europe in favour of their transcontinental masters though.
there is a higher chance US and Russia unite against Europe.
If all the countries charge 30 percent tax on already overpriced American products. That's the end of America
All nations on the earth already charge tariffs on American goods. Time for YOU to pay your fair share. Get used to it. Whatever amount the country charges on American goods, that same amount America should place on their goods- see how fair that is kid?
@@bigbob3772 More nations are going to look for other trading partners and maybe even consider joining BRICS in the long run. More tariffs, pls!
Funny how countires are pissed about tarries when they've been LEECHING off the US military for their continued PATHETIC existence. You don't want the tarries then the US military won't come to save your asses from your own stupid decisions.
@@bigbob3772 I bet you don't even know what America's top exports are-it's oil and gas. Without these resources, other nations might turn to the Middle East and Russia, diminishing America's global influence. The USA can do what ever they want. Due to debts and the political swamp the empire will collapse sooner or later.
It will take some time but even Trump can’t change something which is already in free fall and no prachute.
I am very sorry. Even Europe will suffer as well.
😢
That title is diabolical 😂😂
Free Trade doesn't work when you're the only one playing by the rules.
In which case the plan to rely on tariff income to lower taxes will become impossible
tariffs are not inherently bad, but the way Trump has gone about it is idiotic. Let alone the fact this could completely disrupt the bond market.
In Canada PM Trudeau has already resigned and this Tarriff issue will play into elections next month on who succeeds Trudeau, tarriff issue will influence election. Trump should buy Greenland by paying it's 57,00 citizens $1 million each, $57 billion total, US gains Greenland territory and Greenland residents become US citizens with same rights & responsibilities.
Only if the US pays in gold because their dollar is going to crash when markets cant artificially inflate it any more.

Compared to China and Russia, the USA is a baby. China is over 3000 years old and Russia is over 1000 years old. The USA will be 250 years old this year.

Trump to Putin:
“Hey, Vlad. Let’s make a deal. We will occupy Greenland, Canada, Panama… (maybe whole Northern and Central America)
And you can take all territory of USSR…” 🫢😲😜
Tariff’s are just a new way of saying “tax” everyone will pay for this.
This feels like preemptive action to leave NATO and go more isolationist. We don't need the Euros as client states anymore, let them solve their own affairs, and pull out of all the bases.
The US interior, coasts, and Greenland is as resource rich as the Middle East. We can get out of there as well. Keep the Pacific holdings I guess because most of that territory is ours as it is.
These tarriffs feel like a bargaining chip to also take the northwest terroritory from Canada so we have complete dominance on the Artic.
Greenland is not yours .
American imperialism clearly never died! But you wont get greenland or canada without a fight. You can leave NATO and go isolationist sure, europe is strong enough without america
Talking about Trump is a waste of time he'll come and go and nothing will change. The update on the war please
6:49 The main idea of getting Greenland is the adjectory right to dig for oil in the arctic.
EU countries should simply leave NATO and join BRICS and I think some of them will
I think trump is just kicking every door to see what gives.
I work in the American automotive industry. I think the tariffs are the best thing he could do for us, my company has closed many of their American plants and moved the work to Mexico in the last 4 years.
but your energy costs have to come down again before it's profitable.
"Nothing about money, without the USA"
GDP is falling so increasing its spend will just be the same as it is now invalid, but at the same time will put greater burden on the economies of these nations and any increase on spending will make no difference at all aside from cost rise significantly at the same time the GDP decreases.
Plus if there's nothing new to buy because our manufacturing is so dire, all it will do is drive up the prices.
The U.S keeps getting more and more agressive as time goes on...
What the US is doing now is a strategic retreat.
Canada does not have a cheaper workforce than the USA.
Return of history, you hate to see it
I'm afraid that the 5% gpd military spending will result in inflated prices, not increase in production.
DJT needs to play kinda nice with China and Russia , bc it's not just agriculture with them. Russia supplies US Uranium and China still supplies Neodymium. If either wanted to they could tariff them 1000% and there is nothing the US could do about it in the real world.
You ended the video with a very touching sentence. My question is why would humans think of weapons, weapons and weapons ? Is too bad.
There is Hungary, there’s BRICS, weapons can and will be massively produced in Pakistan, India, Iran, to name a few allies, there’s China of course, there’s the vulnerable passage of sea ships , … Not so fast, US. The only real weapon of US hegemony is the $. And that could change over the coming years.
I'm so glad Trump is back!!!
There are numerous perspectives on global events, and as we venture into uncharted territory, conflict could escalate dangerously, potentially leading to a world war.

The USA doe snot have any power. Tariffs is a USA Tax, it means that the imports are at the same price Canada, Mexico as the same price, the American consumer who buys the products is subjected to pay a tariff Tax imposed by trump of 25%. The American consumer pays for it, not Canada or Mexico, basic economics, the USA debt is $36 trillion is is broke and poor. Tariifs is just another USA tax it makes it consumers pay for goods.
Yeah and there is huge movement in Canada to avoid anything and everything made in the US. Trade will collapse.
What happened to Isolationism? This is literally Jingoism
And by the way recently was in the news that france foreign minister threatened to attack US on a topic of Greenland. How to process that?
Nothing will come of it, the French military won't stand their ground let alone be able to get to Greenland since the US Navy will sink anything France sends. If they want to take US bases in Europe, then the Eastern NATO members will retaliate along side the US combat troops stationed there. France is all bark and no bite since anyone they've sent to Ukriane has been killed within a week of going there.

Tariff is a kinda of tax that bestowed by the government on imported products that is entering a country
Guess what is not the companies and importers nor china and other countries that is not paying the tariffs it is the consumers that pays it..
Therefore fueling inflation
If the United States populous knows that then they wouldn't vote for trump
It's nice seeing how people don't understand how tarries actually work. The tarriffs are designed to force growth of DOMESTIC production so there isn't a need for forigen goods. This is also being combined with reducing the OVERTAXATION of US citizens meaning they have more free money to purchase goods. Most companies will EAT those tariffs and make up for it in bulk from US consumers. Countires that introduce tariffs and DON'T do anything to relieve domestic tax burden defeat the purpose of tariffs.
For this reason it might devaluate dollar and US could pay their debt with cheaper paper
it's working in Panama and if Canada wants to join as a blue State, fine. otherwise they have to play fair. and Putin can take over the country of Belgium while you're at it.
You make a great point and perhaps we're living at a time when national boundaries will change. No one says that they're fixed forever!
France, why are you doing this? Screw America and what Trump wants.
Because France spent the last year anatgonizing Russia because they felt safe under US protection. Let’s see how tough France is against Russia without the US for them to go run and hide behind.

Canada is owned by the crown. It is a commonwealth country.

But, resorting to war with other great powers to preserve status is not actually what empires usually do. The British did not do this, neither did the Soviets nor the French. What is more likely, it seems to me, is either proxy wars along the peripheries of the powers or a coming to understanding as to spheres of influences, as the European powers did in Africa.
